I've grown Basil for years & I harvest & dry it & put in a mason jar. After I harvest the leaves I put them in a wicker basket I toss them around everyday for more air circulation, also put the basket out in the full warm sun for heat. I've never had any mold. I do however want to learn how to use it fresh. Could you do a video of how to make pesto? I've never had it but I've heard it's very good.
Your basil is gorgeous 😍 My basil leaves 🌿 are not big and flat 😔 they sort of curl down and are pale green to yellow. It’s in a well draining pot on a south facing window, and I prune it. I’m not sure what to do?
Coffee can increase the acidity of the soil, I usually only use it on my acid loving plants like blueberries. You can make a quick homemade fertilizer by steeping a banana peel in a jar of water overnight and watering the plant with that water. Or if you want to go all out you can get a kelp fertilizer and spray the leaves with it
@@TheGardenWitch It worked! Thank you for the homemade fertilizer tip…my basil immediately perked up 🪴 and now it’s sprouting new leaves from the bottom and is a lovely green 💚💚💚
Can basil be used like bay leaves? For example with bay leaves you write your petition/intention on it then you burn it. Can basil do the same or will it not work?
I'd imagine you would have a hard time being able to write on a basil leaf without it crumbling or ripping apart. If you needed basil's energy you would be better writing an intention on paper and wrapping a small amount of basil in the paper

I grew basil for the first time this year and failed to trim the blooms. No wonder it tastes awful. Now I know for next year.

I can definitely try- I just put some of the other ingredients on my shopping list so hopefully that will remind me ;)

Yellowing often indicates a nutrient deficiency, have you tried giving it a little bit of fertilizer?
