Is the surprise movie “Star Wars:
Episode V:The Empire Strikes Back? or “The Call Of the Wild”?
These are "strange" recommendations:
But for a movie, yoy think you can put Netflix's "The House" on your list? A stop-motion dark comedy
For a short, Good Will to Men 1955
It's available on RUclips
Have you seen the animated sequel 'return to Neverland'
You should react to hook with robin Williams
Please Fantasia 2000
The "I do believe in fairies" bit to save Tinker Bell is actually taken from the play. In the play, she's dying and the actor (or, more often, actress) who plays Peter turns to the audience and calls on them to cheer if they believe in fairies. When they first started doing this, they were actually so worried that there would be too many adults in the audience and so no one would cheer that the orchestra was instructed to cheer if no one else did. But, to their surprise, the audience participated so immediately and wholeheartedly that it brought Peter's actress to tears at the first performance. Doesn't translate super well to the screen but I still love that moment.
Literally my FAVORITE Peter Pan fact 💖
I actually saw that play. Not the first one, but yes, we all chanted " I do believe in fairies, I do, I do.
Actually, I think Peter asks the audience to clap their hands if they believe in fairies rather than cheer, also saying, "Don't let Tink die!" Years ago, I saw the so-called "Mary Martin" musical version live onstage in a touring production starring Sandy Duncan in Chicago's cavernous Arie Crown Theatre (at McCormick Place), and that moment was incredibly moving. Tinkerbell, in that production, was played by a hologram.
When I was in primary school they played the vhs in class once and my entire class and teachers participated in when the ‘I do believe in fairies’ chant starts up. I remember the wonder and joy at feeling involved at saving tinks life even behind a screen.
What an awesome fact💯
Honestly, I like this Peter Pan more than the Disney classic.
Same
I never truly liked the Disney's Peter Pan. He's too... I don't know, unlikable? Even Walt Disney himself said so. The sequel though was quite awesome.
Yeah same here... i have to admit I couldn't finish the Disney version, I found Peter a bit terrifying and the 'What makes the red man red' Scene was just the last straw for me
@@theenchantedteapot5882 Oh right. I didn't remember that. I remember the indians. Just not that phrase. Many old Disney movies had very racist moments 😞
@@lulystalgianature2968 Yeah... I still think it's okey to enjoy the movies themselves as a product of their time, as long as one also acknowledges the bad stuff... but for me who already found the movie unsettling it was just a big yikes
Fun fact: Jason Isaacs, who portrayed both Hook and Mr. Darling, nearly turned down the role of Lucius Malfoy because of this movie.
Some dialogue was directly taken from the book.
The composer for this movie also composed score for Maleficent.
Same way as the 1953 Peter Pan who voiced George darling and Captain Hook 🪝 is hans Conreid Jr, while Jonathan Hyde did double roles of Samuel Parrish and Van Pelt the hunter in jumanji.
@@nathancruz9172 Well, that tradition is taken straight out of the original Peter Pan play.
J.M. Barrie always had Hook and Mister Darling played by the same actor onstage.
Perhaps mister Barrie had some daddy issues!
I never realised it was the same actor before 😅
Boris Karloff played the dual role of Mr. Darling/Hook in a 1950 Broadway version with songs by Leonard Bernstein. This is not to be confused with the 1954 "Mary Martin" version.
The composer is James Newton Howard. He also composed the score for the Hunger Games movies.
Peter pans actual kiss scene was cute and the theme. The hidden kiss thing has to do with maturing into a woman. It's said that it's supposed to be dedicated to a certain man, hidden away for their one true love essentially from what I get. It's meant to be special I think
I get that it's probably supposed to be cute, but it seems to be representing a hymen that supposedly everyone can see somehow, and it kinda gross me out how the adults are focusing on it.
I wish adults would worry less about young women's "purity" and "innocense" and focus on giving them the information they need to make smart decisions on their own. Being safe and with someone they trust. other than that adults needs to keep their noses out of young teenager's genitals
@@norwegianpride7523 the movie clearly takes place in the Edwardian era when that sort of thing actually mattered so...
@@norwegianpride7523 I thought of it as the kiss is special for one person. Peter just happened to be the one it was dedicated to and got it first. I think Wendy's mom could have kissed someone before her husband, but the hidden kiss was given to her husband.
It is a gross thought and if it did represent that its weird but Peter Pan is very.... QUESTIONABLE in the nicest of ways so I won't totally knock the idea
@@norwegianpride7523 also I can see your frustrations with this situation. I won't ask any questions, but here is a heart. ❤
That’s a good way to put it
Highly under-appreciated gem, this is the most faithful book-accurate adaptation on film.
Agreed.
Absolutely agree! It makes me so sad that so little people know about this little treasure
All that business with the Aunt is BS.
As well as other moments concerning ...adults. The silent film is closer to the book.
@@kallen868 What do you mean?
This Peter Pan movie is my favorite. I love Jason Isaacs portrayal of Captain Hook. Everyone had a crush on Peter and I had a crush on Captain Hook in this film🤣still do
E too.
Me too!!
I had SUCH a crush on Captain Hook when this came out! I was 11 🤦♀
I had a big crush on Peter when I was little but now I totally see what you mean about Hook 😸
Me too, i still do.
I swear when that music kicks in when they begin their flight to Neverland...SO! GOOD! I'll never get over that magical feeling
The thimble/kiss thing -- when Peter just held out his hand as if a kiss was an object you could hold, she offered him a thimble instead, I guess because she was taken aback that this was his reaction. And so after, when she wanted to give him a kiss *for real* she went ahead and called it a "thimble". That's why throughout the movie they kept calling each thing the other thing and vice versa. Kind of confusing as I type it out! 🤣 But definitely a charming and funny bit of writing that always gave me a laugh.
Flying by James Newton Howard. Out of all the composers in Hollywood, he’s my favorite. He’s done so much
This version of Peter Pan is by far my favorite! It's romantic, vibrant, overall so dreamy and way underrated in my opinion. I love Robin Williams and Julia Roberts in Hook, but this one is just so magical! I had stars in my eyes from beginning to end 🤩🌌!
AGREED!!!
Julia Roberts much as I love her really had no business playing Tink. She has zero fairy qualities. Didn't get it. The costume didn't help.
One thing to remember is that Hook is NOT a retelling of Peter Pan, it's more of a sequel.
@@kallen868 Dude, stop being negative.

Let's admit it we all had a crush on this peter pan at some point 👁️👄👁️
I had one for Jeremy Sumpter 😊
Yep I was watching this back in the cinema and was like 😍
Oh my lord yes 😂😂
Still do.
..yes😂❤
This is, hands down, my favorite Peter Pan adaptation of all time. It's the truest to the original story, it's magical, it tries really hard not to be racist with the Indians... yeah, it's spot on.
Fun fact the lead actors Peter (Jeremy Sumpter) and Wendy (Rachel Hurd-Wood) were real life boyfriend and girlfriend at the time.
Another fun fact. The actor who plays Captain Hook and Wendy's dad is Jason Issacs! Jason played. Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter.
Another Harry Potter actor Maggy Smith (Professor McGonagall ) also starred in another Peter Pan movie! She played an elderly version of Wendy in Hook!
OMG, I am BEYOND thrilled that you're watching this. I used to watch this movie as a kid and, as a teen, I realized how complex the writers made the characters. For instance, Wendy is the only person to make Peter feel romantic feelings. However, Peter's feelings can never exceed past a child's crush. From what I can see, he is just on the threshold of puberty but refuses to cross that line. So he must deny his feelings for Wendy. For example, the audience sees the two of them playing "house" together (Wendy is the mother and Peter is the father). But when Wendy asks him if he sees her as an actual romantic partner, Peter runs. Handling a serious relationship must be done with maturity and this is something he can never do. But, at the same time, Peter doesn't want to lose Wendy.
And then there is Hook. He is outraged that Peter has a love interest, when he technically isn't supposed to. (I think this is why Hook says Peter can't love. Children only have a shallow understanding of romantic love and, since Peter vows to always be a child, he can never give Wendy what she wants.) So he tries to persuade Wendy to join him. When she eventually refused, he tries to kill her.
Anyway, I hope this brief character analysis gives you a better understanding of the movie. Thanks for watching it.
I loved this version! I was 11 when this came out! Jason Issacs who played Hook was filming this when he was offered the role of Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter. He was sceptical at first of playing a similar style bad guy to Hook but his daughter convinced him to take the role. I hope ‘Hook’ is not too far away now you’ve got a good grasp of the Peter Pan Story. Another lovely performance from Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman is a brilliant and quite different Hook to what we see here.
Wait.. what? I didn’t even notice, that’s so cool😄
How does that work? Movie 2 of Harry Potter came out in November 2002. This movie didn't even start filming until a couple of months before Chamber of Secrets was released.
I always found it kinda cool that peter pan's existence is tied to Neverland. when he is absent from Neverland, it is cold and dead. when he is there it is bright and alive. Even his emotions are tied to it.
We`ve ALL had a crush on Peter Pan of this version at some point.Even now, when I look at him,all the fuzzy feelings of nostalgia come running back. 😂
When I was about 13, my family was holidaying on the Gold Coast - a popular holiday destination in Queensland, Australia. Peter Pan was largely filmed at a studio about half an hour from the resort we were staying at. It just so happened that the cast were staying there too and for the couple of weeks we were up there, we got to hang out in the resort’s pool of an evening with the kids from the film. It was great fun and they were an awesome bunch.
This movie def has a dark undertone - Wendy and her feelings for Hook, Peter's obsession for Wendy, I love how it showed more of the effect it had on the parents. Def a classic, there was a deleted scene though of Wendy reuniting with Peter Pan when she was older, had a young daughter and was married, was heart-breaking, no idea why it was cut, it was a masterful scene between the two characters.
I remember reading (I don't remember where) that they cut it because it didn't do well with test audiences. The chemistry between Wendy and Peter was so strong that audiences didn't want to see or couldn't connect to grown up Wendy.
This movie is so up the bar for me in adaptations! The wonder and accuracy to the story says alot. Hooks backstory really spoke to me interested of the 'hero' and 'villian' rivalry. Hooks pain when he realized that Peter had something that he did not. He was lost and empty with nothing but vengeance driving him.
Peter is actually the villian of his own story. You do NOT want to know how bad it was. It's like really bad with Peter and how only HE remained young. I really enjoyed it and I actually felt emotional watching it!
Even in the Disney version, Peter was kind of a villain
Ok I want to know how he remains young though haha
This movie has such charm, pretty decent effects too for 2003. 😄
Next you definitely need to watch Hook.
Don't forget " Finding Neverland "
Did you know Maggie Smith is also in Hook? ! (Professor. McGonagall ) She played an elderly version of Wendy .
Actually, there is an alternate ending in which case the whole story is told by an adult Wendy as a bedtime story to her daughter Jane. She goes to sleep while Wendy is up sewing by the fireplace in the nursery. Suddenly, Peter returns for Wendy. Unfortunately Peter finds that she has grown up, married, and a mother. However, he cheers up when he meets Jane who wishes to go to Neverland for a while with Wendy’s permission. I do highly recommend Return to Neverland, which is a sequel to the animation film. I also highly recommend Finding Neverland, which is about how the author of Peter Pan was inspired by the family that inspired the book and play. I also highly recommend Hook which gives you the glimpse of what if Peter Pan did grow up. 💚
Both movies you mention are amazing options.
Return to Neverland is my all time favorite sequel of the Disney animated movies; while Hook was one of the first roles of Robin Williams that I saw
Oh, I didn't know about this scene but if I'm not wrong it's at the end of the book
@@a.g.demada5263 yes it’s even the ending of the original play and musical.
Not you calling Smee Smeagle the whole time..!
I'm so glad to see you react to this movie, and even more glad you liked it so much. It's one of my personal favorites and I still go back to listen to it's soundtrack every so often. The romance and depth this movie gave to Wendy and Peter is so compelling compared to the Disney animated version, as is the writing overall. While the Disney original is a solid, fun adventure filled with childlike wonder, this movie's themes stuck with me as a kid and still makes me think now that I'm an adult.
Though I agree with you that they pushed the lost boys, Tinkerbell, Smee(gle) and even Wendy's brothers more towards the background in favor of making it Wendy, Peter, and even more of Hook's story. And yeah, as iconic as the 'believe in fairies' scene is, it doesn't hold much weight if you don't get to care much about Tinkerbell. Smee had some funny lines but they definitely made him a lot less silly. It's a shame, but it's a big cast of characters and they probably had to change these things if they wanted to give this movie a bit more focus. They're all still charming characters nonetheless.
I haven't seen the animated version so I didn't know that the lost boys, Tinkerbell, and Smee had a bigger role in that film. I thought it was fine the way it was, probably because I had nothing to compare it to. I still felt the weight of Tinkerbell dying mainly because of how gutted Peter was. Now I'm interested in comparing both versions.
18:18 That curly haired boy is George Mackay! He plays one of the two main soldiers in 1917!
Hook actually shoots and kills his men and they also show his chopped-off hand and everything. When I was a kid it didn't bother me, but now I'm grown-up I am quite surprised how brutal and mature this movie is at times.
At cinemas they ran a version for children age 6 and up in which were cut out some brutal scenes like when Hook is smashing his hook against Peter's head, skeleton bits of the cave scene, moments when Hook kills his pirates,... . When it came out on DVD 😄 it was rated PG 13 and confused me quite a bit because it was quite dark and brutal.
@@K7Tinkebell Woah, really? I'll have to look into that! Thanks for the heads up.
Did you catch that the aunt was reading War of the Worlds when Peter arrived and his shadow started messing with her? 😂
I did actually haha, didn’t say anything but did notice it!
@@nickflix8657 Disney is doing a live action version of Peter Pan already coming out early to that's 2023 Jim Gaffigan has been cast as Mr Smee and jude law Captain Hook
Fun fact. The actors for Wendy And Peter were each others first loves. They dated for a while.
This score is sooooo good. James Newton Howard is a very underrated composer.
Oh my god!! I didn’t expect this video but I’m so happy you reacted to this! It’s my favourite version of Peter Pan, and Jeremy Sumpter was absolutely perfect for the role, with those facial expressions! He really embodies Peter Pans’ essence!
The Best adaptation of Peter Pan ever. It surprised me when i heard that it was underrated in US. That movie was my entire childhood.
This movie has one of my all-time favorite soundtracks. James Newton Howard knocks it out of the park every time, but ESPECIALLY this one. To this day it is still my alarm sound every morning.
Jeremy Sumpter was amazing as Peter Pan and so was Jason Isaacs as Captain Hook, I used to watch it all the time but haven’t watched it in like 10 years, such a good film
I remember when I was little I would leave notes for Peter Pan and Tinker Bell and I would find fairy dust the next day or find a note of Peter Pan himself. I still have the fairy dust in a little velvet pouch.
that is so sweet❤
Fun fact: Wendy wasn't a common name before Peter Pan was written and the nickname "Wendy house" for a child's playhouse comes from this story. I love this movie and wanted to buy a copy of the original book for my shelf, but so many are abridged or re-worded, it was very hard to find the original text (you can tell because it has the line "Oh, the cleverness of me!" whereas many of the adapted works say things like "How clever I am!" instead. Truly a crime against literature to rewrite that iconic line.)
especially because i makes no sense to change it😭
The actors who played Peter Pan and Wendy were dating at the moment! Super cute
WHAT?! For real? Well, I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised, cause costars dating each other in real life has become pretty common
I've been wanting to see a reaction to this movie for like a million years so thank you! I literally cry every time I watch this, Peter and Wendy's chemistry is honestly unmatched
I consider this the true prequel to Hook, with Robin Williams. It meshes so well.
And yes, that theme is soooo good!
This and Hook are my favorite Peter Pan movies! 💚💚💚
If you loved this movie, watch “Hook”. You’ll not regret it. Also watch, “Finding Neverland” made in 2004. Staring Johnny Depp, the author of Peter Pan. It’s about how he found the inspiration of Peter Pan, you might like it.
Finding Neverland is such an underrated movie, makes me cry every time. To me, the best Johnny Depp movie
I couldn't stop thinking how much this Peter Pan was like Rufio and how many things were like "Hook." I haven't seen this movie in so long.
Great flick!
@@freshbrewedasmr3378 I liked this movie too.
Also the Neverland miniseries is very interesting. It's not necessarily a close representation of source materials, but I love the concepts and prequel concepts they come up with
If you want another Peter Pan movie, you should watch Finding Neverland, it's based on a play about the man who wrote Peter Pan. It's a drama. Definitely recommend
finding neverland is such an amazing movie. i saw it in theaters when it first came out and it was a magical experience.
Peter Pan was actually written in 1911 originally, so the reason some things seem off is due to the time period of its original conception, even the disney animated film adapted and changed things. I hope we get to see Hook soon now :3 its a great laugh and if you want more Pan based fun check out "Peter Pan Gone Wrong" for a slapstick comedy.
Classic disney films are almost all adaptions of even more classic fairy tales. Definitely quite cute that you mixed up smeagle and schmee ;) smeagle is the lord of the rings character silly :P
The original play *Peter Pan* was actually written in 1904, preceding the 1911 book *Peter and Wendy.*
@@oliverbrownlow5615 my bad!
It was this movie that furthered cemented my love for James Newton Howard as a composer. I didn’t know it at the time, but I knew this a few years ago. His music always brought MAGIC to any movie he works in!
Glad you enjoyed the movie, this is one of my favorites!
Some fun facts: Tiger Lily is played by Native American Carsen Grey and speaks in her nation’s language. Something that wasn’t done before (and rarely done since).
Peter’s actor kept messing up the kiss scene on purpose lol.
This is the closest adaption to the 1911 screen play/novel. Many lines in the film are included or chapter titles.
I really recommend reading the original 1911 novel as it’s much darker and less comedic than the Disney adaption, which truthfully isn’t that great.
As other people suggested Hook (1991) and Finding Neverland (2004)are other great Peter Pan inspired works!
As a kid i didn't care for Jason Isaacs but looking back, dang! What an excellent actor!!
This is my favourite Peter Pan adaptation! ❤️ I'll put it on when im sick or having a bad day. I actually have a peter pan tattoo. I've never been a huge fan of the Disney animated version. Hook and the Neverland miniseries are some of my favourties.
I was In love with this Peter Pan when I was younger 🥰 still do I believe he was my first crush. This is my fave Peter Pan movie. Always thought it was a Disney movie until recently.
😆
You know things are bad when Universal knows how to do a live-action Disney remake better than Disney themselves.
The father and Captain Hook are played by the same actor, Jason Isaacs!
I LOVE this Peter Pan movie! It’s my favorite one out of all of them. Also love the new scenes that they added. I mean I’ll still always love Disney’s original and all. Also if I remember correctly in the original story book of Peter Pan he did go back to his home but he’s parents already at that point forgot him and had a new baby and the window was shut, so he went back to Neverland. There’s a movie called lost girls which is a Peter Pan remake but it’s based on the darker version/side of Peter Pan & it’s about the generation of the darling girls. But the 2003 version will always be the best Peter Pan film of all time. I discovered this film when I was like 12 or 13 & even tho it came out a year before I was born I couldn’t even believe that it existed until I found out about it. It’s the best! Love your videos!
The first time I saw Jason Isaacs was when my family rented that old Mel Gibson movie, The Patriot. Mr. Isaacs played SUCH a villain there, as a sort of evil British Colonel. I remember I never saw him in anything else til I saw him here in Peter Pan and Harry Potter, and he's become SUPER iconic to me.
This is honestly my favourite adaptation of the original play. I specially love the way Jacob Isaacs portrays Captain Hook!
GLORY!! IVE BEEN BEGGING FOR THIS ONE! THIS ONE IS THE MOST ACCURATE TO THE BOOK! It's WONDERFUL
I can not tell you the JOY I felt seeing this notification
James Newton Howard’s musical score is perfection in this film! 😍
I agree about the main theme/score, Nick! SO GOOD. This movie came out when I was 11 and was a great coming-of-age, more mature version of the story for the younger me who was obsessed with the cartoon and live musical versions of Peter Pan.
I LOVE this version of the story more than any other.

Next to Disney's version, this is the adaptation most faithful to J.M. Barrie's original book and play. It is also one of my personal favorite portrayals of Captain Hook. Jason Isaacs is one of those actors who can play the best villains.
I still highly recommend "Finding Neverland" its a biopic about the playwright J.M. Barrie and his inspiration for creating / writing Peter Pan. (Which began as a play). Its such a beautiful movie.
I still remember seeing this movie in theaters. I was like 7 years old when this came out. I haven’t seen this version of Peter Pan in ages. But I’ll admit back when I saw it theaters, certain scenes had me traumatized.
Tiger Lilly got me
This score still gives me chills! It's like the epitome of that "Disney" feeling!
Don't know if anyone mentioned this or not but Jeremy aka Peter Pan did most of the stunts himself and didn't really rely too much on his stunt double! Just thought I'd throw it out there since I didn't see it in the comments while I was scrolling through! But this adaptation of the movie is by far my favorite, absolutely hands down love your reactions too ❤️

Wow~ another reaction of the 2003 Peter Pan. I love everything about this movie back in the day. The bgm, ost, the casts, Tinkerbell, Peter Pan, Darling Siblings, Lost Boys, Neverland, Mermaids, everything 🥰😊💕
Also despite the fact that this IS Universal, Disney themselves loved that "flying theme" so much that they actually ended up using it a LOT in their theme park commercials for a time recently. :D I want to say like around 2010-2015? The track is simply called "Flying" by James Newton Howard.
They used the flying theme in there commercial the year of a million dreams which that was way back in 2006
This one is closer to the book. 😊
Def the best version of Peter pan and most close to how he was portrayed in the book
This was one of my favorite childhood movies 🥰 I love how the island I in tune with Peters emotions. It’s bright when he’s happy and dark when he’s sad. And the music in this movie is incredible 🤗
This was my favorite as a kid!! I had the biggest crush on Jeremy Sumpter. This is still my favorite version. The score is beautiful too!! They're kids, you can't except the best acting from them lol.
I'm sure you're wondering why the musical score is so good. It is by the amazing James Newton Howard, who also composed Disney's ATLANTIS!!!!
And Dinosaur and Treasure Planet
See Cathy Rigby as Peter Pan! I've seen her five times live. You can find it on YT. Best live flying ever!
As to this movie: Got to see it Christmas night the year it came out. ❤ Pan is a bit of a Holiday tradition!
I realize that it’s the same actor who did Draco Melfoy’s father was Captain Hook 🪝 and George darling in this version.
Hi Nick!!!! I'm so happy you decided to watch this version!!! It is my favorite Peter Pan version! So just FYI, the actor who plays the father/Hook is Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter series, and also plays Admiral Zhao in Avatar: The Last Airbender.
I'm just so glad you watched this movie. This is my favorite Peter Pan movie, I never liked the Disney animated one cause of several reasons but this one is just so magical, beautiful, emotional and heartfelt. I watched it in theaters as a kid and the magical feeling has never left me. What a time to be alive in 2003. The score is one of my favorite fantasy film scores alongside Narnia, Harry Potter and Edward Scissorhands, really gives you that uplifting magical feeling of flying in the air with Peter himself. Jeremy Sumpter and Rachel Hurd Wood, they were the perfect Peter and Wendy. So much chemistry and love, I don't think any other portrayals can top them. I still continue to ship them as a couple which makes the ending very heartbreaking.
This was lighting in a bottle, even if Disney is doing their own live action version, I don't think this can be topped. This is probably the closest Peter Pan adaptation that is very faithful to the source material, for a lot of people this was their definitive Peter Pan same goes for me. This one was never meant to follow the animated one as it takes more from the source material that is the book, the animated one took some liberties that to me took away the heart and magic of the story. So this one will always be THE Peter Pan adaptation for me.
Up next you should watch Hook, another childhood classic. If you want more fantasy films with vibrant scores and stories, watch the 2015 Disney live action Cinderella and Nanny McPhee.
I watched this movie just so I could watch this reaction. Well, that and I've been meaning to watch it for awhile.
Two scenes that had me in stitches laughing: "You offend reason, sir. (jaws drop when they see Peter flying) I should like to offend with you!" and "Medicine. The sticky, sweet kind. PLEASE KILL US! PLEASE KILL US!!!"
That medicine scene is me, I swear! I can't stand medicine!
You GOT TO check out "Hook" (1991)! It's a live-action sequel of the 1953 remake. It's directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Robin Williams as adult-Peter Pan! You'll love it for sure, Nick! 😍😍🤗🤗🤗😊😊😊☺☺☺❤💖❤💖❤💖❤💖
You reference the Disney movie as the original, but Peter Pan predates Disney. This movie is based on the 1911 novel Peter and Wendy. Peter Pan was introduced even earlier than that in 1902 in another story by the same author. The actor who plays Wendy’s dad in this movie also plays Hook. He also played Lucious Malloy in Harry Potter. Also, Sméagol was in Lord of the Rings. Hook’s sidekick is Smee. 😉

Nine-year-old me was simping for Jeremy Sumpter 😂 I still love this movie so much
The gold that Michael gives to his father at the end was actually the gold Smee(gol) gave him during the fight on the pirate ship. But I’m so glad you enjoyed this one. It really is the best looking of the Peter Pan movies (even compared to the classic Disney one) and really explores the themes of the original book/play in way no other adaptation has done before. And of course the music is GORGEOUS. I hope this inspires you to react to Hook next, and Peter Pan Goes Wrong too. It’s a live filmed version of a play of Peter Pan where everything, well, goes wrong, and it is one of the funniest things you will ever see in your life.
So fun fact there is a deleted scene from this movie where Peter come back to visit Wendy and finds her sleeping (or who he thinks is Wendy) but turned out to be her daughter Jane and Peter sees that Wendy is all grown up and he takes her daughter to Neverland
This is one of my fav childhood movies! I absolutely loveee the comedy they added into it, it really did make the movie!
One of my favourites. Such a beautiful movie ❤️❤️❤️
I saw this about a year ago and really thought it was very good movie, kind of surprised actually how much I enjoyed it, thanks again Nick
This version definitely pulls a lot more from the original book, while the Disney one took a bit more liberties - I guess to make it a little more comedic and fun. A lot of the narration and the lore we get from it is from the book. And additions like Wendy being saved by Peter's acorn (in the animated one they shot at her but never hit her), the boys building the house around her, Tink drinking the poison for Peter, Wendy's "hidden kiss" and other odd little additions that weren't in the animated one all come from the book. Definitely worth a read! I haven't finished it yet but def enjoying it so far. And you'll def see the hints at them again when you watch Hook! 💖
Also, can you believe this was the first role for the girl playing Wendy?? She nailed it!!
I thought she was absolutely perfect as Wendy. I don't really see how any parts of her performance were off, but I am biased since this is one of my all-time favorite movies.
Omg I Love this movie and am always sad because almost no one seems to know it! Never saw someone react to it! You can’t imagine how happy this makes me
Also I agree with you the music in this movie is phenomenal!
I love this film. I can't believe it's been nearly 20 years since I first saw it in theaters...... Damn, I'm old. (Alone. Done for. Lol, kidding 🤣)
I forgot about this movie and I loved it as a kid! This Peter is just so cute and mischivious in terms of attitude.
This is my favorite Peter Pan movie. I would watch this one and Return to Nederland nonstop.
Every time you call Smee as "Smeagol" I snickered. I understand the confusion of names even if they couldn't be more different in character.
Nick, I know you don’t like Winnie the Pooh that much, but I think you should react to the live-action “Christopher Robin” movie. It’s really cute and charming, and will probably appeal to your childhood memories.
Anyone who likes this movie - I HIGHLY recommend "Lost Boy" by Christina Henry - especially the audiobook 👌🏿 She makes Neverland feel like a real place. You get to know the Lost Boys, Peter, and the pirates and it will probably change your opinions all of them.
Thank you!
Hook was the first live action I knew. A classic!
