Superb tutorial, as usual. I have learned so much from your tutorials for both Nikon and Sony cameras. I appreciate the hard work you put into these videos.
This is a great tutorial!!! I've watched many different beginner guides for this camera and by far yours is the best. Thank you very much for taking the time to do this.
On top of the compression, it's worth noting that JPEG only supports 8-bit colour RGB components, while RAW is only limited by the sensor, so here 14-bit RGGB components.
Excellent tutorial👌 i’m probably going to be trading in some of my less used photography gear in the next few days in order to offset the cost of the z6iii & the mark ii adapter as i think this camera will compliment my wonderful d500 very nicely as a package with my af-s lenses. Great delivery style🤛
Thanks for the guide, It is really useful; clear descriptions that stay on topic are so useful. I have a question. In P with the d600, it was possible to use the command dials to quickly alter the aperture. Is this possible with Z6iii thanks, Mike
Hi Jason, thank you for this great tutorial. Question: what would be the right settings to take a video of an aircraft to obtain the right effect of its propeller turning like we see it naturally ? Thanks
That is a great question and I honestly do not know, because of the rolling shutter issue cameras have today and the speed of the actual propeller would also matter. To get no blade warping you would need a camera with zero rolling shutter like the A9 III for example. What I would do is leave the shutter at around 1/60second this way the rotor blades blur out plenty and just look like a blurry circle shape sort of thing. Does that make sense? Just thinking off the cuff here...
Hey man! Thanks for the videos. I have had 2 of these cameras now and whenever recording after 1-2 seconds it says recording interrupted and stops recording. I’ve changed sd cards and batteries etc but still keeps doing it. Once again I’ve sent one back already and the new one is doing the same thing. Have you heard of this issue or run into it. I use really nice cards so don’t see that being an issue. Z8 works perfectly fine with the same cards.
I have not heard of this issue and honestly have no idea what would cause that. I would try the SD card also assuming it must be that first... I would give Nikon tech support a call on this one.
Cómo va a ser mejor blockear el enfoque y luego recomponer que dejar que la cámara siga enfocando todo el tiempo? Si haces lo anterior y te mueves o se mueve el sujeto ya quedará desenfocado la foto.
So you can re-compose your image without the focus changing. You can't do that with AF-C unless the focus is "locked" on the subject. That is the reason and it also assumes your subject is not moving.
Thank you so much. Excellent explanation and information, easy to follow.

Thanks for watching and the very kind words Paul :)
I second that

Awesome, thank you!
Awesome tutorial! I’m coming from a Nikon 5100 with a very intimidating learning curve!
Just got one today. Thanks for the info! Will come back to this , and you.

Muito bom
Obrigado
Great tutorial!! When you plugged in the charger, is that charging the battery, or the camera?! 😅

Can you make a similar video for Canon r5 mark II please?
Most likely coming soon...
Are you using dual gain ISO when shooting in SDR? Or just use Auto ISO?
I was using Auto...
Does the camera record while connected via usbc to a vlock battery?
What's the minimum sustain speed you think is needed for 6k raw video? Can a prograde gold 1tb do it?
You need a minimum of a V90 SD Card and yeah the CFexpress Type B 1tb gold will work: amzn.to/3C86KHX
Thanks!

The latest z 6111 does not have the Release mode and focus mode in the menu
It depends what camera mode you are in... Very complicated/ powerful camera!!
