This is a great tutorial!!! I've watched many different beginner guides for this camera and by far yours is the best. Thank you very much for taking the time to do this.
Superb tutorial, as usual. I have learned so much from your tutorials for both Nikon and Sony cameras. I appreciate the hard work you put into these videos.
Non sono un fotoamatore, ma ti ringrazio, perché per tutte le conoscenze che mi hai donato, avrei messo ore snervante con questo nuovo mio acquisto. GRAZIE
Very helpful! I appreciate that you are instructing us like we are not Ph.D rocket scientists. This is my first go through and I will likely review it again in 3-5 days when my camera arrives. Thank you!
Thank You So Much... Upgraded from D5600 to Z6iii. The difficulties I face are only the position of the delete button, it would have been better if it was close to the play button, and the quick draining of battery life.
Hi Jason, have you ever encountered a tricky eject function on the CF express card? I have a brand new Z6 iii, inserted the card and cannot extract it. I've read to pull finger away quickly, but it doesn't seem to work. Thanks for any tips!
Hi Jason, this is Sabyasachi Ghosh from India. Thanks for the splendid video. Am going to purchase the Z6 iii next month along with 24-120 f4 and 180-600. Your video was a great help. I have a question- what resolution does the z6 iii offer in crop mode ? Should it be OK for A4 size print outs ? I do wildlife, landscape and travel photography as hobby. Thanks in advance.
I don't know the exact resolution off the top of my head, but yes it will be fine for prints even larger than that!! I have done huge prints with 24mp cameras and they look incredible, so don't worry about that. Use a good print lab, and they will upscale if needed or you can do that with photoshop for example if needed. Also worth noting, prints look a lot sharper and smoother than when viewing on backlit LCD screens....
Hey man! Thanks for the videos. I have had 2 of these cameras now and whenever recording after 1-2 seconds it says recording interrupted and stops recording. I’ve changed sd cards and batteries etc but still keeps doing it. Once again I’ve sent one back already and the new one is doing the same thing. Have you heard of this issue or run into it. I use really nice cards so don’t see that being an issue. Z8 works perfectly fine with the same cards.
I have not heard of this issue and honestly have no idea what would cause that. I would try the SD card also assuming it must be that first... I would give Nikon tech support a call on this one.
Thank you a lot. Great manual. A lot of information. However I still can't figure out why pressing half way shutter button does not show a green focus point.
Hi Jason, thank you for this great tutorial. Question: what would be the right settings to take a video of an aircraft to obtain the right effect of its propeller turning like we see it naturally ? Thanks
That is a great question and I honestly do not know, because of the rolling shutter issue cameras have today and the speed of the actual propeller would also matter. To get no blade warping you would need a camera with zero rolling shutter like the A9 III for example. What I would do is leave the shutter at around 1/60second this way the rotor blades blur out plenty and just look like a blurry circle shape sort of thing. Does that make sense? Just thinking off the cuff here...
On top of the compression, it's worth noting that JPEG only supports 8-bit colour RGB components, while RAW is only limited by the sensor, so here 14-bit RGGB components.
Hi Jason. Excellent tutorial! Thank you!! I just got a Z6 II yesterday and I watched several RUclips videos on how to set up the camera. I have a Z6 but the Z6 III menu is a bit more complicated, and I noticed that the shutter speed adjustment on the Z6III is quite different from that of the Z6. You can adjust it by 1 sec. increment. I don't know if it's a factory default setting or not but I don't like it. In the Z6. I can change the shutter speed like from 1/100->1/125->1/160->1/200....I wonder if there is a menu in the Z6 III somewhere that I can change it. If you can help me out, I will really appreciate it. Thank you.
I want to use a tether tools cable on my Nikon Z6ii to my MacBook Pro. My old cable for Nikon d7200 does not fit. Can you tell me which tether tool cable I need to use. I’m a bit confused about which port it should be connected to. The USB C or the accessory port. Help please
Excellent tutorial👌 i’m probably going to be trading in some of my less used photography gear in the next few days in order to offset the cost of the z6iii & the mark ii adapter as i think this camera will compliment my wonderful d500 very nicely as a package with my af-s lenses. Great delivery style🤛
Thanks for the guide, It is really useful; clear descriptions that stay on topic are so useful. I have a question. In P with the d600, it was possible to use the command dials to quickly alter the aperture. Is this possible with Z6iii thanks, Mike
Cómo va a ser mejor blockear el enfoque y luego recomponer que dejar que la cámara siga enfocando todo el tiempo? Si haces lo anterior y te mueves o se mueve el sujeto ya quedará desenfocado la foto.
So you can re-compose your image without the focus changing. You can't do that with AF-C unless the focus is "locked" on the subject. That is the reason and it also assumes your subject is not moving.

Awesome, thank you!

I second that

@Jason_Hermann 🙂
Great tutorial!! When you plugged in the charger, is that charging the battery, or the camera?! 😅
Thank you Sir for this

thanks alot for the video,,,,
the z6iii or the sony a7rv for both video and photos? which one would you pick?
The Sony because I would have so many more lens options, but the Z6 III is a really great camera also, can't go wrong either way honestly.
@@Jason_Hermannthank you
Is there any indication what IRE value lines are that have been divided up on that waveform monitor?
To write video to dual cards the camera would need a built in sprinkler system!
hahaha
Does the camera record while connected via usbc to a vlock battery?

Nikon Z 6 iii not 2

I should have actually said my dx lens & not af-s i guess 🤦🏻♂️😂

What's the minimum sustain speed you think is needed for 6k raw video? Can a prograde gold 1tb do it?
You need a minimum of a V90 SD Card and yeah the CFexpress Type B 1tb gold will work: amzn.to/3C86KHX
Are you using dual gain ISO when shooting in SDR? Or just use Auto ISO?
I was using Auto...
So i had just bought this camera a couple of days ago i was wonder why it stops my video after it plays for about 10sec
The latest z 6111 does not have the Release mode and focus mode in the menu
It depends what camera mode you are in... Very complicated/ powerful camera!!
Muito bom
Obrigado
great
