This game holds an insane amount of nostalgia in my heart. I used to play it all the time as a kid. I actually found the CD again today, popped it in my windows 7 laptop... and it runs flawlessly. That's amazing. I feel like a 90's kid all over again. =D
Lol, I remember this when I was a kid. When I had a sleepover at my grandpa, he had this oldschool computer with this game on it. And I was like, what? 5-6. Screw graphics, this was awesome.
I never knew how to use the internet to play with people and all that when i first got this game, but i used to play it for hours. I installed it the other day to bring back some memories
I think I got this game as part of a free game set with my Gateway computer purchase in 1998. I think it was a Pentium II 400 mhz. lol Fun times! One of the first driving games with true 3-d rendering of vehicles and environment. This and Motorcross Madness ruled.
memories!!!!!! my 1st pc game ever..i remember stayin up whole night playin this!!!!!! and that harcore there song was off the hook! ahh 1997...good times
Does anyone else remember the "hidden" soccer fields in one of the levels? I'd always go off in my favorite, Monster Patrol, and play around in the cities and exploring. Not even a monster truck fan but this game was a lot of fun
Yeah, I loved playing this game. There was always some bug that if you hit another truck at the right spot it would send him flying a long ways away. And then you'd have to hit "H" for the helicopter to come and pick you up. lol
LAWLS I remember that! I LOVED this game so much! I remember asking my dad for it at the store. The 2nd one wasn't too bad either. SNAKE BITE FTW!!! Those were the good'ol days. Remember drag racing or j-style drag how ever other race the computers truck would stall out and they'd call for a helo even inside the dome?! lol. You can download this game off the internet for free now. Im going to get it for my laptop.
omfg this totally takes me back, I can't believe it's been that long, 96, maaaan, with the win 95 I was the coolest kid in the block with this game...god I miss this game /,=
This is absolutely hilarious. It's like it's a parody, but it isn't. I remember the trailer; I never had the full game; only the demo. I then got MM2 a few years later
ahh... the memories... i even joined the modding community and made a toyota supra truck mod out of GT Precision Racing (another TRE game)... I also remember that this was prior to DirectX 3.0 being released that's why the textures were still pixellated...
Omg.. nostalgia as far as i remember my lovely car was - The snake queen - the yellow car with red hood that was so... recently i need to play this game again... :,(
Your ticket pays for your whole seat but you'll only need the edge? COME OOOOOON! Still... *ahem* ROOOOOOLL OOOVER BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETHOOOVEEEEN!
This game is better than some of the games coming out for xbox360 these days. My copy of the cd doesn't work on my XP or Win7 R.I.P. Monster Truck Madness :(
LOL I only had the demo too and played it for hours on end. The demo came in a CD along with Age of Empires 1 demo and some other demos but I played mostly this and Age of Empires
The funny part is that this type of commercial for a game would work today, though the comedy would be intended. For example: Serious Sam HD's supermercial.
@Queedtwo OMG same!! i was trying to look for it,and i thought this game looked really similar so i kept on watching then that yellow chinook made me remember it all!
@HotRodTom2 I played on there too. I just found mtm1 online for free download lol. What was the name of that clan that drove the Overkill trucks? Had a K i think.. Its really interesting when i find old websites from that period in the internet, they are sooo different from websites made now
ditto. This game and POD (Planet of Death).... the crazy sci-fi racer where... prisoners on a doomed planet raced for the chance to escape? it's was ridiculous and fun.
