  • Learning music notation can be hard! Sometimes it's nice to be able to sit down and play some relaxing piano without having to read a whole bunch of notes! Luckily you can by applying simple patterns to chords.
    In this video I'll teach you 5 relaxing ballad patterns that you can apply to any chord progression, and you don't need to read a single note in order to play them. Once you've learnt the patterns you can just relax and play the piano without getting frustrated.
    There is a nice range of piano chord patterns here, with some perfect for beginners and others a bit more challenging, but all with a lovely chilled vibe.
    With all that talk of note reading, I have actually notated all of the patterns for anyone that wants them. You can download the PDF here:

    Great video Arthur! I really like 5, because it is a variation of a LH pattern I discovered myself: 1-5-8-9-10-9-8-5. I typically play it all in the LH, with the middle and index finger crossing over the thumb after playing the octave. Have to add your versions into the repertoire now.

    Love these patterns, only thing that scares me off is the download, it looks like sheet music, which I find entirely terrifying. Do you ever show the progression with the keys highlighted in blue for each step? I love the blue highlighted keys, it gives me hope that even I could possibly play these patterns reasonably well one day?

    • @BirdsPianoAcademy
      @BirdsPianoAcademy  10 месяцев назад

      Hi David, yes the download is the sheet music. If you copy the patterns I'm showing you using the video you should be able to learn these without sheet music though. Just take is slow when you first start (and remember you can watch the video at slower speeds as well if you need to) and yes you should be able to play them well one day :)

      If you can't reach a full octave you can either take it out (depending on the pattern) or rock back down to the root instead.
