I did a travis barker style mix to mozart haha, evvveryone always makes fun of classical music, yet everyone is still intrigued with it. I love it all, and this Soulwax mix is tight
the drums are similar to greel but i dont know why they would be taken from there im pretty certain soulwax are capable of making there own drum sounds
On this day in 1976 {September 25th} Walter Murphy and the Big Apple Band performed "A Fifth of Beethoven" on the late Dick Clark's American Bandstand... Four months earlier on May 29th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; and nineteen weeks later on October 9th it peaked at #1 {for 1 week} and spent over a half-year on the Top 100 {28 weeks}... It was based on Beethoven's Symphony #5, composed by Ludwig van Beethoven between 1804 to 1808...
It's definitely that snare, I dunno if the kick's the same. A very SebastiAn track, even if it isn't distorted to Hell and back. I fucking LOVE the Hangover EP too dude, I'm surprised I found you somewhere on the internet.
This song is pure brilliance. It made perfect sense. Disco was the 2nd coming of Classical music. If you broke down all the strings and horns in Disco, you had pure Classical brilliance. So, Walter brought the 2 together....brilliant! xoxo The Clarences
Actually it's the other way around. Soulwax's perfected the snare and then the whole Ed Banger crew borrowed it. You can hear Justice's Xavier speaking about this in Part of the weekend never die's documentary.
this is the 'Hidden Cat' version, not the official soulwax remix. It was created because it was thought the soulwax version would never surface and only be used in dj sets/mixtapes. The hefty drum sample comes from 'SebastiAn - Greel'. :)
This is exellent! I'm a classical music fan, and I think crossover genre spoils classical music... anyway, this is not crossover, it something totally different :)
I always come back to this. Just perfect.
Sounds perfect! The World need more music in this style.
