    Yeah there's gonna be no comparison LMAO

    Halo 2, and 3&4, do technically still have a health bar and mechanic within the game. The issue is that while developing the game Bungie realised the health pool they gave the player, especially on legendary, was so miniscule that they decided to just not display a halth bar and removed health packs. In the games files you can still find these health values in the games code as well as the removed health packs.

    I remember first playing halo 2 as a kid and picking up the pistol on Cairo station before the first covenant encounter and thinking “holy shit this thing shoots way faster than in halo 1, its gonna shred”! And then disappointment.

    I think part of the different feel is because of Halo CE being similar to Bungies earlier game Marathon. In fact people originally thought Halo was a Marathon sequel because they were so similar, and I think that's where Halo's vibe comes from.

    You hit the nail in the head. I always enjoyed Halo: Combat Evolved more, but couldn’t point exactly why. although I always thought that AI in Halo CE is a lot more intelligent. I also love the more open world nature of Halo 1.
    May Allah (S.W.T.) guide you and bestow upon you His Blessings; Ameen.

    Oh the guns are so good in CE between Human tech and Covie tech the series never saw better in terms of power. All my beloved rifle needed was tighter spread. Reach handled that nicely. Now I did hear you say something I disagree with whilst typing. Halo 2 definitely has a horror element every flood level. Sure its no comparison to 343 guilty spark, it's still there none the less. To finalize my comment of course they feel different, but both are still heavily momentum based. Along also being great staples in a once beloved series.

      Bro that BR is tough! The pistol is a different variant entirely between the games. Plus there is a whole lot more weapons in 2 than CE, which means more balancing. That's why it seems to be "less powerful". The SMG is also a small caliber

    As someone that sucks ass at video games I appreciate ce being easier
    But I do have to hand it as our halo marine expert that the halo 2 marines are better in all ways except maybe armor
    Still will save any marine though even the ones in spartan assault
    Also there’s more blood on og halo 2 graphics and the health bar comes back in reach even though I don’t think it feels as useful there

    I think the issue with every new halo game really comes down to not deeply understand their predecessors. Halo CE is great because the AI is so excellent. The elites, jackals, and grunts are excellently crafted for the sandbox in CE. Every game after that the AI are less pristine.

  • @MaxiemumKarnage
    @MaxiemumKarnage Месяц назад

    I always viewed Halo CE as one of the last (non indie) "boomer shooters" and Halo 2 was when the series sorta drifted away from that feel. Like you mentioned with the weapons sandbox, a lot of the guns in Halo 2 are just absolutely useless whereas in Halo CE every single weapon serves a specific purpose in the sandbox like the pistol being the "work horse" like the Doom shotgun or the AR being like the nailgun from Quake and so on.

    Level design wise while CE was open it is so easy for you to get last in some of them in halo 2 I actually prefer some of the linear level design to CE but there are some things CE I prefer than 2 so it’s 1-1
    I think halo 3 had the best besides the 2 spinoffs because ODST and reach have some of the better level designs.
    ODST feels like a proof of concept on what a halo horror game could be I mean if I were making a halo game I would made grunts something to worry about and you shit ur pants in a forest by hearing the chirps of the jackals or hearing the intrusive buzzings of the buggers and getting picked up thrown around by them there’s so much untapped potential with Grunts,Jackels,buggers for elites there gonna be kinda like the ones in each since ur just an odst there gonna be cunning and smart but if u play ur cards right you can take em down the brutes how ever just hide and stack up on those “anti brute scent” cans.
    While 4 ALSO had some good scenery and some good levels its gameplay and 1 level is what kinda downs on it so much
    Infinite has a lack of variety in its biome diversity and level design but makes up for it in gameplay and story and its side quest
    5 is all awe and spectacular say what you will with 5 but I has alot of good levels I enjoying going to swords of sangehilios and its gameplay has better than 4

  • @ChakLok
    @ChakLok Месяц назад

    Gun wise?
    reach was gritty and loud
    CE had the second best feeling guns
    2 has dual-wielding and the br
    3 has variety and sandbox
    ODST it’s just halo 3 but downgraded in a good way ur not a Spartan and you have a cooler SMG and a cool pistol
    4 is the worst ur ammo just runs out and you get backshots from knights
    5 has a lot more guns like A LOT and there so fun to use theres this sense of discovery with the amount of variety guns 5 had
    Infinite despite having the best gameplay they promised the whole live service thing seeing entire new models for the guns LOOK at the anvil operation that Doenst look like a rocket launcher anymore I don’t wanna say infinite had the worst the guns feel great but in terms of variety it’s not the best but I has one of my favorite guns the Commando
    Edit:so what is the first best feeling guns is that I don’t know depending how I’m feeling I can say 3 has the best or infinite has the best despite the lack of variety

  • @ChakLok
    @ChakLok Месяц назад

    I wouldn’t say halo 2-3 ODST to reach were not kid friendly even in halo 4 there were some traumatizing moments in 4 (there are very dark subject matter in all of the games)
    I feel like infinite could be more “kid friendly” on the surface level and due to the rating but once you explore the world and find the audio logs you discover some horrifying shit and the shit with griffin was sad.
    For 5 idk
    Gameplay wise???
    Yeah I do believe the guns in CE are the best in the bungie trilogy there definitely the best feeling guns also the grenades do not hit the same but they still packed a punch
    but do people who deadly grenades can be it not just halo? In all lot of games make grenades that do nothing when that’s not the case a small grenade can blow off ur arms and kill you to impact and halo 4 has worst grenades!
    Well I think CE has the second best gameplay wise reach was to try hard 2 was kinda a watered down CE (but it has dual-wielding) 3 has the third best gameplay it’s much more laidback which i like also the brutes were so fun to fight while 4 has the worst gameplay wise its a watered down halo 2 while halo 2 had some downgrades its gameplay still can stand on its knees while 4 was just repetitive ur ammo just ran out thankfully 4’s story was good enough to carry for 5 idk haven’t played for so long.
    For me I think Infinite takes number one for gameplay.

    This is exactly how I feel except for dark souls 3 and elden ring. DS3 is much more satisfying and is a significantly better game. Elden Ring is beautiful, but game mechanics wise it's just not as good as ds3 and I won't ever understand why they nerfed their near perfect combat mechanics.

    LETS GOOOO MORE HALO YAPPIN' 🗣
    1. The magnum was drastically nerfed for balancing reasons, can you image duel-wielding the CE magnums? That'd be unbearable to deal with in Multiplayer. As for some lore reasoning on the sheer difference on the magnum is it's a different model and considered more of a "Self-Defense" pistol rather opposed to the stopping might of the M6D. It's very obvious the M6D (CE's magnum) was meant to be a Deagle on steroids with a scope . As for the volume, I agree that 2's ballistics aren't as beefy at first, but once duel-wielded thats where it shines. Halo 2 had a really strong emphasis on duel-wielding and making it seem as kickass as possible while maintaining a level of balance. After that H3/ODST had a bit more of a SCI-FI lean with their ballistics and Reach went back to that beef. Also counter-point on the damage department. The AR kinda sucked in CE.
    2. Yeah it sucked that the health bar was removed/not featured in halo 2,3,4, and infinite. But it wasnt dropped ODST, Reach, and 5 had health bars as well. So its only missing in half the line-up.
    3. As someone who plays games like Dawn Of War, Postal, Dead Space, etc. I fucking agree, where's my gore piles..I take bloody mess in Fallout for a reason damnit.
    4. It's just a change in how the engine works, I like the weight of the drop from dying in CE but its pretty odd seeing a floating corpse compared to a ragdoll reacting to an explosion and watching it catapult and flail a bit before its last twitch.
    5. Couldn't agree more, grenades were alot more chaotic, kinda miss the absolute nuke that would go off in a small corridor. Nothing like the symphony of screams and detonations. Like hurling a plasma grenade at an elite to kill him and set off any other plasmas on the ground from grunts. We lost that in ODST and onwards, but instead we had using a precision weapon to set off inactive frags but sadly alot of that flare of the explosion is gone.
    6. Again, that's fine the newer installments aren't horror heavy. That gradually started to not be the point of Halo as a whole. They normalized alot of what's going on because lets be honest years of dealing with the same threats and after they've failed to attack and take earth thats a heavy morale boost. Horrors of war cant be a continued horror if the enemy looks like its now on its last leg.
    7. They wanted people to play with the Battle Rifle and SMG, that was the poster boys on what they worked on and wanted to make sure it was used as much as possible. Realized their mistake and brought the lil guy back for 3 and future titles. Just that shrimple
    8. Let's be real. Hunter's were always pussies. They are a joke in CE and 2. CE is just a sniper or magnum to the back and they're cooked even on legendary. At least they were a bit more of a bullet sponge in 2.
    9. Yeah the gravity and movement changed as a whole CE was much more of a "Spartans on ice" especially on warthogs. Holy moly. I'm personally glad the Warthogs aren't that floating in the future titles. And hey, we're a brick, can't lessen Johnson's raw as hell deliveries like "For a brick, he flew pretty good."
    10. Yeah its meant to be a different feel. The continuation of the story, the art style, the situation is all completely different. We're not in a spooky isolated chokepoint. Would feel odd to have that same style for when we're on New Mombasa and shit. Especially when we're literally rocking the covenants shit and starting to be declared "The Demon". Where Reach and CE it's us afraid of the Covenant and Flood. 2 and 3 is the Covenant becoming afraid of the humans and the Flood progressively getting desperate themselves and trying to 4d chess shit just for it to flop.

      Also on the topic for it potentially being a matter of CE was your first to violent games I can understand that. Halo was be no means my first, some of my first violent games were MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries, RoboTech: BattleCry, The Thing, and Mortal Kombat Deception. So instead I viewed the progressing story of the Bungie Era as a rising up and getting back on your feet kind of story with its own tragic but needed sacrifices.

      I second this until reach and 5 because thoses hunters don’t fuck around

    • @derptube2148
      @derptube2148 Месяц назад

      The BR is basically the Magnum in 2, a jack of all trades gun usefull in most scenarios but still somewhat dependent on comboing with a plasma pistol on higher difficulties. I will also second that the AR sucked on higher difficulties and its only really ability was to supress grunts and to do the double melee exploit, though it was a big waste of a nade in single player. The AR really shone in the multiplayer where it could shred other players sheilds, use the double melee exploit, and had one of the quickest camoing speeds for quick camo. Many top CE competative players would drop the magnum in favour of keeping the AR when using a power weapon like the sniper in multiplayer.
      On the health bar although it was technically removed from the players view it did still exist in 2, and I also presume 3 4 and infinite, it's just due to the player having such a low health value, especially on legendary, Bungie just decided to hide it from the player. Fun fact you can still find the left over health packs in the games code.
