Man you absolutely nailed it with the weather comment. Same for the trouper. If it’s summer and I need maybe a wind breaker or small rain jacket at most, it’s a perfect bag. As soon as I need a hoodie or coat, it takes up the entire pocket (and takes up the valuables pockets too) and kind of becomes infuriating. I’m looking for something bigger for exactly those situations. I wish they could make something like the titleist hybrid that looks as good as a jones
Totally. I've found the Trouper to be fine with the larger garment pocket (although still not as much space as say a Vessel Player IV), but with the Rover, anything more than a light layer, will get a bit tight.
When I went from my Hoofer Lite to the Jones, I found out how much I used the top handle when lifting and setting down the bag. It allows for a two-handed operation and without it, I found my right arm tiring. It’s probably ok when not carrying a full set. But, definitely something I’m keeping an eye on going forward with new bag purchases as a must-have.
I bought a Jones Trouper just because of your review. Had to buy it from Europe and I was obsessed with the color combo you had with the charcoal grey and teal zipper pulls. They didn’t offer a charcoal grey until just now again. They re-launched one. Oh well, love the bag. Thanks for the sales job.
Yeah thats charcoal and turquoise was an awesome combo. Wouldnt surprise me if we see some colored zipper pulls become available at some point to allow you to customize your own.
Really interesting. In the UK and Ireland the default is push trolly everywhere. While carts are options some times it’s not used as much by most people. Carry happens but way way less frequently. Zero issue or judgement this side of the water…. So the interesting question is what bag if you only push cart
I still love the Vessel Player series. That's what I've used most over the last 4 years or so. And even though it's a heavy bag (especially compared to the Rover) it's not that bad to carry if you're mindful of what you put in the bag. I just always tend to overpack ha.
I got the black camo utility stand bag and love it. I just got it in the off season and it’s been on my cart but I can’t wait to take it out for some walking rounds.
What exactly is the proper way to put the straps on…? I just got one of these, and tried everything in regards to the straps and it feels SO uncomfortable. Thinking about sending it back…
Can you tell us more or release a video about how to use the Jones straps properly? I just got the Trouper R. Pretty sure for a right handed person the middle (removable) strap goes over the right shoulder and the attached permanent strap goes over the left shoulder. Let me know if this is incorrect, thanks!
Shopping for a new bag for my teen daughter this weekend - considering the Jones Rover Stand (better color options, which is important for a teen) and the Sunday El Camino (slightly lighter, the cooler pocket), which would you choose?
Personally, I'd go for the Jones. I think the colors are fantastic, the build quality is a little bit better, and I just generally like the styling more.
Sean you’re the 🐐 - Love your page! - why are ultra lightweight bags more expensive than regular size etc - why is a Ping Craz E Lite more expensive than a Ping Hoofer?
Yeah believe me I get it, and agree. It's a matter of time. Doing that requires a lot of extra time per video, that would undoubtedly make the videos 25% better. But with everything on my plate, it's just difficult to find the extra time to be able to shoot a bunch while I'm also at the course testing. But I hear you, and working on ways to do better with this.
As other comments have highlighted, why is there a stigma in the US about push buggies? Here in Australia nearly everyone uses them unless they are driving a cart. Push buggies being way more common than carts, too.
Many “luxury” bags are in faux leather (vessel, ghost..) - what is your experience on durability (multiple years)? I’m in Florida and the heat/humidity tends to test materials. These bags look good but they have to last 4-5 years minimum for me to justify the cost
So I'm in Portland, OR which is a very different climate, but I put probably 100 rounds on the Vessel Player III and it's still in fantastic shape. So I personally wouldnt have concerns about the durability of those bags, but at the same time, I haven't spent a significant amount of time testing them in a high humidity environment like Florida.
Can’t decide between the trouper with better divider imo and no real ball pocket or the rover that looks better overall imo with ball pocket but only the 3 divider
Have you experienced any leg droop from the stand? This seems to be an issue I have with a lot of bags. I walk almost every round and I have the Jones Utility Rover that I love but would like to have another bag with a stand (that actually works) and has a bit more storage.
Totally, I'm with you. I'm typically a pretty diehard 6 divider person - but for this bag I've found it works great. The full length dividers work well and I didn't have any issues pulling clubs or with them getting stuck. And honestly, I've found myself enjoying the simplicity of the three-way top more than I expected. If you're super anal or meticulous about where your clubs go, the 3 way may not provide enough organizational options, but for a casual carry bag that keeps things simple - I've found it to work great.
Awesome video - thanks for the review! I've been mulling a Jones Bag purchase. I walk and ride carts about 50/50, would this bag be able to be strapped into a cart easily/without pain? I keep bouncing between the Jones bags, Stitch SL2, or SM Double Sripe. I think this bag achieves the best of both worlds for adequate storage (the Stitch needs one more small pocket lol) while being light. Just curious if you or anyone you know has used this bag on a cart yet and what the takeawy from that was. Thanks! Appreciate the info!
It'll be...fine on a cart, but not ideal. It's a little bit smaller than the Stitch and Sun Mountain bags, so just a little more room for it to wiggle around on a cart. If you're going to be using a cart that frequently I'd probably go either Jones Trouper 3 if you're wanting to stick with the brand, or the Sun Mountain Mid Stripe. The pockets on the SL2 just still haven't worked well for me. Alterntively, the new Stitch Sl2 MIY or Airwalker have a new pocket layout that actually works better than I expected - so worth checking out those as well.
There are definitely better ergonomic and lighter bags then jones bag.. and some relates to changing habit which not what I am looking for ..if this was made by top flight, this review won’t be even looked.. anyways great review but still sounded bias

Im sold!!! I miss the old hoofer shoulder strap set up
As an AZ resident. This is the perfect bag for year-round
Summer - 100 degree heat and it’s light
Winter - 60-70 degrees just throw in a sweater
I got the black camo utility stand bag and love it. I just got it in the off season and it’s been on my cart but I can’t wait to take it out for some walking rounds.

Buying a push cart was the absolute best decision I ever made. Was a little hesitant at first but 100% no regrets.
I cannot believe the price of these bags. Nuts.
Thank you for this!
Love the Jones products. Great video Sean cheers
Thanks Ben!
Just ordered mine, this one seems to check all the boxes for me
You're going to love it.
@@breakingeighty I hope so, it seemed to have the weight + style I was looking for and at a great price point.

@@breakingeighty That is what I was leaning toward too - very helpful, thank you!
Any chance you put this bag on a push/electric cart, if so how did it work?
Sean you’re the 🐐 - Love your page! - why are ultra lightweight bags more expensive than regular size etc - why is a Ping Craz E Lite more expensive than a Ping Hoofer?
Curious for the feeling on the Rover Stand vs the Vessel Player IV Pro for someone who is either Push Cart or driving exclusively?
In that case I’d totally go vessel. Rover is awesome, but definitely a better walking bag
big fan of the bag, just got mine but the dang legs sag while walking carrying :( cant move that riveted clamp
Love your videos. But would like to occasionally see you out from behind the desk. Show some of this gear as you use it on the course vs stock shots.

@@breakingeighty thank you! Some headcovers here crumble after a year - I’ll stick to canvas and continue to observe others’ bags :)

The black looks like a navy blue in the sun, am I seeing that right?
Great company
Does anybody know where that hoodie is from? The Greyson logo with the witch in it?
Yep, got it at my home club, Pumpkin Ridge. That’s the logo for the Witch Hollow course
@@breakingeighty long shot here, is there any chance I could buy one from you for my dad??? He sent me this video saying he loves that logo!
Die you Test the ghost anyday bag? Would know what you think About this
Does it fit a full set of clubs?
Yep!

The 3 way is actually great for carrying. You get way less chatter and can even result in less tangle.

Great content btw!
Greyson Clothiers is the wolf logo. Could be a course custom given the little witch inside.
@breakingeighty, does it come with a rain hood? Love the video, thanks
yes it does.
Anyone know how to use this 2 strap system?
Almost 40
rover stand or stitch sl1 ?
I'd go Rover stand personally.
Does it come with a rain cover?
yes
Is the air Walker coupon still available?
Yep! It's "BE20"
Ping hoofer light is better.

Great review. But maybe some close-ups and views of the actual product. Kinda weird looking at your face the whole time lol
Great content but show us more of the bag man. 95% of the video is you talking
Hey I’m 44 would KILL to be almost 40 it’s an exponential slide into the abyss once you cross tha magical 4 0
You also ooze low T, poor thing.
Cool, looks like I have a lot to look forward to! ha
