  • Quick look at the Bryton Rider 420 bike GPS. It has a long battery life, great screen, connects to most sensors you may need, and is only just over 100 bucks USD at the time of this video. The only negatives would be the lack of full map navigation. But seriously, if you have a phone is that required? That is something you have to decide. Since this is a 'quick look', simply ask any questions in the comments and I will answer them for you. Cheers.

Thanks for this review. I have some questions about the altitude screen:
    1. Is it possible to have the turn-by-turn directions on this screen ?
    2. From your video, it seems that the upcoming altitude profile is for the next 2km. Is this configurable ? For instance the next 5 km ? Thanks

The turn by turn appear at the top of the navigation screen after route is loaded... its automatic. The information you receive depends on which app or program you use to load the route. Using the Bryton app I get most names appear, but I have heard using different route planners give different results. You can add POI's and label them accordingly with names that include your own notes as well. The altitude seems to be locked at the 2km, but I did notice the the altitude variance adjusts itself to fit on screen.

@@scottrider7271 Thanks. So the turn by turn only appears on the navigation screen. If you are on another screen, there is no indication that you have to make a turn, correct ?

@@sebagregoire actually, you can add the turn by turn notification to ANY grid cell on ANY page.... As long as the route follow has started, it will appear on any page if you want. Example, if you have the full 8 cells on your first page, any one of those could be showing turn by turn. On the navigation page (follow track) it shows on the top by default, and another 2 cells of ANY data you choose.

@@sebagregoire No, the turn by turn can be added to ANY cell, on any page... as long as the follow route has been started. On the follow route page it automatically is on the top regardless, there's 2 extra cells that can also be configured to ANYTHING on the navigation screen... just use the phone to configure.

@@scottrider7271 Thanks, it makes a lot more sense. I think I'll order one soon (probably the rider 450).
