We all saw it coming after their elimination game. The inconsistency throughout the last few years, the hotheaded of taking bad shots. Well these were fixable and he did show from time to time that he can play without them. But the last straw was going 0 for 10 on wide open shots in their elimination game, that was when everybody was like "that's it man."

The Issue with the Mavs in the finals wasn't defense (no matter how much media harps on it, Celtics had their lowest scoring games against the mavs), It was the offense. Klay, Grimes, and Marshall all better offensive options than THJ, DJJ, and Green. They would sweep the Twolves, but I could see the new Thunder team pushing them to 7.

I don't think you can call one of the hardest runs to the finals in recent memory a fluke. The Mavs are also a young team overall, so they're going to be improving alongside their competition. If/when they get back to the finals Luka will be better on both ends which will help the issues they ran into this year.

You were wrong about the defense in the finals. The Celtics barely scored 100 each game. The defense wasn’t the problem. The problem was that no one contributed on the offense to support Luka. Signing Klay will be a huge difference. He will have a complete bounce back year because he will have more open threes than he ever has in his career.

Getting Klay is great, but for the Mavs the pickups of Quentin Grimes/Naji Marshall is what makes the Mavs more well-rounded, I can see Klay starting, but I don't think he is playing to the point where those two aren't playing much.
As a mavs fan, I think we'll make a deep run, but in order to beat okc again somewhere in the playoffs, we'll be missing one more piece so I expect a trade deadline move later on

As a mavs fan, I hate this. We lost Derrick Jones and Josh Green, two of our most key players with their intangibles and defense. AND they were young valuable pieces. I would have rather just resigned DJJ and did nothing else. Front office just guaranteed the finals run was a fluke
