Really good lesson! For everyone scared of Polish language, sure at a first glance it might seem difficult, but it's not that bad, you just need a lot of practice, words are pronounced as they are spelled, grammar is kind of difficult, but it's consistent, with the right amount of listening and reading you will grasp it. Polish is a really beautiful language and a lot of people speak it around the world. It's definitely worth learning

I grew up in a Polish neighborhood. There was 10 of us that hung around together and I was the only one who wasn't polish. 7 out of the nine of my friends spoke fluent polish and 8 out of the nine went to a Polish parochial School. I learned a lot of Polish words in fact hundreds of them I cannot carry on a conversation but I can understand a lot and I know what phrases to use in most situations. I ran into a Polish bartender this past winter and I was practicing my polish on her and she said most everything I said I was pronouncing correctly. I actually surprised myself because it was more than 50 years since I had the opportunity to speak Polish that much.

I'm a Brit who lived in Poland for 5 years, and Polish isn't actually as hard as it looks. The tenses are easy compared to English, and it's actually completely phonetic (even though it looks weird at first). Once you learn things like ż is the same as rz and c is pronounced ts etc it's easy to read. The declension is a bastard and even after years of studying I still got it wrong but Polish people are so thrilled that a foreigner is trying to speak their language they won't care at all if you say "mam pies" instead of "mam psa", so it's very easy to practice speaking! Go for it, it's a beautiful language! And if you're British, with so many Poles in the UK you'll be treated like a rockstar if you speak Polish in a Polish shop 😁

No, duolingo isn't good way to learn polish. First, teach saying, 'cause ch, rz, sz, cz, or dź, dż can be hard
I'm learning Polish on duolingo, but I grew up in a Polish neighborhood so already knew the letters, numbers, and pronunciations. I'm learning more words though
i can sing polish song too, stolat i think its called. 100 years 100 years i think its a birthday song lol
I learned Polish 3 years ago and I have 10 years

Good luck with your Polish!! Remember, we strongly appreciate that you can say anything ❤!

I recently made polish friends so this is really helpful
Greetings from Hungary bro!
Cześc, jestem Lori.
I just started learning polish yesterday. Thank you for this video ❤️
@Venomus I'm still a beginner. But I'm going to get there. I understand a lil bit of what u said. Sorry. Polish is such a beautiful language and fascinating ❤️
@Venomus I don't know. I think polish is beautiful ❤️
I dont know why but Im attracted by very hard languages : Im born in France, I took german as my third language, And I’m learning polish Korean and Russian (all of those languages are in the top 10 hardest languages haha)
I can relate :'D
My mother languague is (brazilian)Portuguese, i learn English at school, i tried to learn German, then gave up Russian, started Hebrew recently , now Polish.
Note: I just learned English ,_,
@@ルイザアナ It's a good idea to CONTINUE with your German and Russian. Don't give up! Just do 15 minutes a day. Then, when you have more time to study them seriously , you will be suprised by how much you already know.
15 minutes Russian a day is over an hour and a half per week.
Learning both Korean and Polish. I found them difficult but I didn’t know they were in the top ten hardest languages?! Hahaha
depends on what is your mother language, for example I'm Slav but not polish, and polish is fairly similar to my language
me, someone who knows polish and english and can speak both languages fluently and i want to learn chinese, korean, tagalog, german, thai :”)
I'm from the Netherlands and have a Polish girlfriend. We speak English to each other but I wanna surprise her to learn her language. And I need it if I want to talk to her parents. Thanks for teaching ✌💪
I am going to Auschwitz in Poland and need to learn Polish. This video has helped me a lot, thank you.

Your lessons are really awesome. 😊Dziękuję bardzo.
Also, I gave up at 10 minutes because of information overload in my brain. At least I can say "hello" and "goodbye" in many ways. Thank you!
Yeah, i agree with you that polish is very beautiful but unfortunately many poles even have a problem with it :(
I'm polish and i watch this for the comments, I love the fact that ppl from all around the world learn our language! :>

Same here. I spent a lot of time in poland as a child and was forced to speak polish in order to live properly in the environment. Now i know very little but am re-learning!

My 92 year old mother loves listening to your Polish. Her primary language is English, but she understands some Polish as both her parents spoke Polish very well.
Nice teachings im feeling good learning this language. lots of love from kenya .
I'm learning Polish because I met my best friend online, she's Polish, I'm 1/4 Polish with literally nothing to show for it besides gulumpies (heck, I even thought pierogiS were triangles and had tomato sauce in them like a ravioli😭), so now she's taken it onto herself to teach me Polish and it is our goal for me to become fluent so that I can have full conversations with people😅 So excited to learn more here, because Duolingo is not doing it😂😅👍

I’m killing my boredom by trying to learn a bunch of the languages spoken in places my family is from genetically speaking, so this should be helpful! I’ll definitely save this video for later once I get to polish, I’ve started with Italian for now, and either this or gaelic will be next!
Excuse me.

I’m trying to learn Polish for my visit to England.
Why?
Lol
XDDDD
😅😅😅
@@AJ-cv9zf Because there is a lot of Polish people in some parts of England.
So do you have any contact with your Polish friends?
@@Ntwadumela1
Yes I still have many friends left from my childhood. I live 200 miles from there now and two of them come up to see me twice a year normally and they never fail to bring me some kielbasi , sauerkraut and rye bread from the old neighborhood. Lifelong great friends . Some have passed, sorry to say. Take care. T
We are learning Polish to interact with co workers from Poland. This language is tough but fun to learn so far and surprisingly it makes sense
Thanks for helping us start polish! I wanted to learn it because my ancestors were from Poland and wanted to learn the language
I love listening to people speaking Polish!!! 😍
God have mercy on us all learning Polish 😂
Thank you this helped my friend is polish and I want to be able to talk to her this really helped thank you!❤😊
Really helpful, my wife is polish and she was impressed that i said a few different words apart from piwo and Tak
So I am Brazilian and youtube recommended me a video called "How to speak Portuguese like a native" in the comments a polish person said that is easy for polish speakers to pronounce Portuguese, I'm here to know if it's the same in the other way
Edit: The pronounce is okay, everything else definitely not
Sou brasileira também. Learning polish during quarentine, doing pretty good. Ainda está estudando polonês?
For Polish people it is mostly hard to learn Germanic languages and their dialects. The rest is kinda easy to pronounce and to write.

Joanna, I'm not sure this is "super easy" 🤔 It's pronouncing the words that is difficult for me. I just have to keep watching your videos (which definitely has an upside! 😍)
Yup im confused
It's pretty easy for me since I'm European and also have pretty easy to pronounce things in general :p I try to translate words that need a specific pronunciation with how letters on how it could be said. Like Przepraszam I wrote it as Scheprascham. But it depends on what you find easier
This is easy ... Im polish and this easy langue XD
I know it could be hard, but when you learn this more and more, this will be natural to speak.
@@neexon7046 it's easy for you because you come from Poland and speak Polish since childhood

I'm so grateful for these lessons. Been wanting to learn Polish for years and I've always been stop start but this is really helping with the "basics" . Great teacher 😁
Add 'kurwa' to your vocabulary and say it every sentence.. everyone will think youre a native speaker ahah
The series 'The Witcher' has inspired me to learn a bit of the language, all the basics really, as I plan to visit Poland soon. I'm having fun, but my biggest challenges are pronunciation and not having anyone to practice with.

My grandfather was polish , my mom's side of family always did "happy birthday" in polish (after sung in english) .. kind of cool tradition . Wish I knew more , but I'm horrible with other languages
Dzięki temu filmikowi nauczyłem się tego pięknego języka! A co do „przyjemność po mojej stronie”, to jak żyję 32 lata w Polsce tak nigdy nie słyszałem takiego zwrotu. Jeśli już to „cała przyjemność po mojej stronie”.
Edit: a jeśli chodzi o nieformalne pożegnanie to zdecydowanie lepiej wspomnieć o „na razie” niż „pa”, bo myślę, że to pierwsze jest zdecydowanie częściej używane.
you probably used google translate, since im 14 and im still having trouble with the big words and i speak good polish and i've been learning all my life.
