Unmatched, the greatest voice in the history of music. It doesn’t even require a debate, it is what it is, God given gift! I wish I could have been there!
Whitney’s voice was phenomenal. She had it all: tone, diction, pitch, melisma, resonance, breath support…and her emotive ability was unmatched. This is my favorite performance of this song the best rendition of all time. Her volume control is incredible. To really hear Whitney’s greatness, you should listen to (and react) to her singing I Am Changing (San Francisco 1986)…there’s no video it’s audio only but you will understand the reason why she’s called The Voice. Edited: And her vibrato was immaculate!!
This has to be one of her top 3 live performances. It would take a lot to surpass this live gig, even by her own standards. But then, sje never fails to surprise and to keep raising the bar with each successive performamce. She truly mastered the art of live performances, mainly as a resultbof, among other things, her emotive ability and story telling, which sre unmatched!! But, in addition to this, her rich tone, resonance, lyrical phrasing, clarity of diction, smooth riffs, smazing runs, melisma, vocal inflections, seamless transitions between head, chest and mixed voices, and above all, her unmatched control, means she had the total packsge- unbeatable!! R.I.P the "voice" Whitney Elizabeth Houston. I will always love and miss you. No other artist gets me so engaged and emotional in music period.
Whitney truly is the GOAT! Unmatched! Nice reaction. I would love to see you react to Whitney singing "All the man I need" at the welcome home Heroes concert in 1991
Mr Daz, l cannot agree with you more- Whitney Houston had the most powerful voice in music, hands down! This singer had not just that but so many outstanding qualities as a singer- one- of- a- kind tone, unmatched control and unparalled clarity of diction, not to mention her unmatched ability to transition between head, chest and miced voices. Of course, we have not mentioned her charisma and unmatched emotive ability. Thank you for your insightful analysis. I am a addictive Whitney fan, to the point where I tend to forget that there are other quality singers. However, the truth is, she is( not was) a cut above other vocalists, whether alive or dead. She is the greatest singer that ever lived, and that will ever live- het music and voice is truñy timeless!
