I took my wife to this actual concert and we both still reflect back as one of the Greatest Days of our lives. She will always have a deep place in our hearts.
This song came out when i was 12 and got bullied a lot and iit became my mantra until it gave me the strength to believe in myself and overcome my situation. My great sense of self worth comes from this song. Saw her live when i was 17 and will never forget ♥
her vibrato is like slapping a fish at your face that makes the earth quake and I mean it in the best way possible because her vibrato is unlike any other, truly astounding
When an angel sings, no matter how slow or fast the pace of the song you just embrace what they deliver. Because it hits right to the heart and soul. Her music was felt deeply and delivered beautifully.
Ahhhh. That’s what I needed. It’s been so long since I’ve heard this Goddess! I miss her so much! Every time she performed it sounded different 🦋 When I was little it would piss me off 😂, because I wanted to sing along, but I get it now. This woman commanded attention! Rest in peace, Queen ✨💜✨
She hit when I was in high school, she exploded!!! Had her first 3 albums on cassette😆, then she just got bigger. This is still so good...just love her so much!
I was going through a lot of stuff during my graduation year of 1988. This song was the seed of me learning to love myself. I'm 53. Whitney has passed. Her daughter passed. And, I am still learning to love myself through the years. Her singing gave me hope.
This might be my preferred version over the original. AND, those keys in the background 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. This was during a time when you didn’t need anything else on stage.
I’m glad you finally reacted to this-I’ve asked you to do so about 2-3 years ago bro lol. If you’re going to put a disclaimer like the Mt Rushmore thing then you’d have to look at a few other artist like Dionne Warwick, Barbara Streisand and Donna Sunmer…just to name a few. But I do agree with your analogy of putting Aretha on there-just historically speaking. One more reaction that you MUST MUST MUST MUST react to is an audio of Whitney singing I Am Changing in San Francisco 1986. It’s a must listen/react to-definite game changer as to why Whitney is top tier.
He talked about Celine Dion and I was "noooo, the white Aretha is Barbara Streisand", every Rachel Berry wants to be Funny Girl because of her, so for me it's Aretha, Barbra, Whitney, and for the fourth I would have to think, Mariah is very unique but she is not so historical as the others, so I don't know
@@MarcelleLeiturasPreguicosas Mariah is disqualified, she is not an authentic vocalist in the style of the greats... She just is not. All that fake vocals and dubbing.
@@odumosuolusegun2781Always come in with facts and I’m here for it!! Keep up the good work! And I know disagree on this but I think this performance is the best one of this song-the interpretation, the arrangement (especially towards the end when the band started playing a little funk music) like everything about this performance was perfection. I know you prefer the Arista version but to me this is the number one version.
@@jobuck879 Yes I love the arista version a lot and also MSG 1988 where she held the 20 sec note! and ofcourse the rough growly version of 1989 where she was honoring her mother, introduced by Dionne! I love love that version because of the rawness
i completely agree with what u said about the mt rushmore thingy. even if you didn't like aretha or if she wasn't like your fave ro whtv you just have to have her in the top 4 or 5. like literally no matter what. not only was she an amazing vocalist but inspired the later whitney, mariah and celine (and MANY others). and those 3 alone have inspired so many others even some we all recognize today. like ari, tori, mori, demi, christina, jenifer, kelly, etc, etc, etc. like without aretha it'd be hard to tell what or more so who could've come after. like not saying mariah, celine, and whitney would've been nothing without aretha but just saying if she didn't inspire them and all the others that came after her we might not have gotten all the legends and queens we have and have had (whitney RIP) today.
Shirley bassey is number 1 and the light Aretha Franklin is number 2 Barbra Streisand us number 3 Mariah Carey us number 4 You forgot to mention Barbara Streisand she taught them how to sustain clean notes without strain
You’ll change your mind When you see the plethora of videos that Whitney has changed up. The Voice never sings the same song, the same way every time.
I took my wife to this actual concert and we both still reflect back as one of the Greatest Days of our lives. She will always have a deep place in our hearts.
Omg that’s so great ! You’re so lucky. What was her voice like in real life ? Was it very louder compared to the video ?
@@kng001 yes I want to know too.
omg that's incredible! So lucky. Love that ya'll still hold it special.
Her amazing voice was almost matched by her physical beauty. We experienced an angel with Whitney.
We were theyre watching Whitney she’s the best female artist ever ❤️🇬🇧
The "yoooouuurrr" in the end is so powerful and has so much resonance that it's crazy!
Whitney's Diction is Unparalleled. It's So clear , doesn't matter what note it is ❤

One of the greatest and most iconic displays of vocal talent
her vibrato is like slapping a fish at your face that makes the earth quake and I mean it in the best way possible because her vibrato is unlike any other, truly astounding
Dionne Warwick is on that Mount Rushmore. She’s one of the best technical vocalist of all time. That’s why Whitney studied her.
Not to mention Dionne is also criminally underrated (now, not during her prime). She has some of the hardest and most technical songs ever.
A perfect performance!!
Her voice had clarity. But it was a clarity that was so smooth and sweet. Not sharp and harsh to the ears
I love when she perfomed that song and sang the line "It's so easy" Yes it was - for her. Holy shit.
What a tragedy her passing was a voice like no other RIP beautiful lady. Peace out.

One of my favorite songs and voices of all time.
The greatest loss to the industry this is my favorite performance of this song.defiantly in pride of place on mt.rushmore 👏👌

Me too
Could not agree more on your analyzes!
I was there! Fantastic show! Hugs from Gothenburg, Sweden
You said it, Brother, Whitney, and Aretha are the only two in my opinion that should be on Mt Rushmore!
Whitney always arrange her performances since then. ❤
Best voice ever! Whitney got her improvisational instincts from Aretha mostly. The runs but also the very free (and assured) time feel
10:45 yesssssssss
Miss Nippy, vocally, was the complete package.
This might be my preferred version over the original. AND, those keys in the background 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.
This was during a time when you didn’t need anything else on stage.
I love those keys during the live rendition especially during this tour.
🤣We said Aretha, same time🤣
Yes, Aretha, Whitney, Mariah and Celine Dion is my Mount Rushmore
The best to ever do it

Don’t forget Ella Fitzgerald, this woman made her voice into an instrument that I have never seen it done since then

This is the best live version ever thanks for reacting to this song and I'm a new subscriber
🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
If you enjoyed this rendition, PLS react to the greatest love of all, Live at MSG in 1988, it’s also on RUclips :)
That concert was everything 🤌🤌🤌👌👌👌❤️❤️❤️❤️
Brilliant song my favourite is the original version by George Benson
Which was a huge hit in the world
My top 4 female vocalists has gotta include Jennifer Hudson
It was popular with George Benson.
My Mt Rushmore (Female)
1. Aretha
2. Whitney
3. Barbara Streisand
4. I Got to Think on This One
React to Gabriel Henrique singing this song: greatest love of all!
I would put Aretha, Whitney, Mercury, and Perry. 2 women and 2 men. 🔥🔥
I love Aretha but she ain't touching Whitney
Mount Rushmore of female singers: Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Celine Dion.
You should check out Glennis Grace singing this…. She comes so so close to Whitney… insane
What about Mahalia Jackson the greatest gospel singer of all time
React to Tina Turner Two People
Mount Rushmore has to be Mariah Whitney Aretha and ?? I think that 4th is up for dispute
Shirley bassey is number 1 and the light
Aretha Franklin is number 2
Barbra Streisand us number 3
Mariah Carey us number 4
You forgot to mention Barbara Streisand she taught them how to sustain clean notes without strain
How dare you name Mariah before Whitney Houston. Are you crazy?
