The fairy maiden socks were my first ever socks!!! Love them sooo much!!! It is cables! And if I remember correctly, there are yarn overs and k2tog as well, which make it “lace”. Totally recommend.

I love knitted socks! I have made the Lyne socks twice. The first I knit to pattern and the second whiteout all the twisted rib but just with regular rib. Other patterns that I love is Hermiones everyday socks and the Broken seed stitch socks :)

Great episode! These are some awesome socks. I finished my first Florist Shortie sock by Larkspur Knits/ Lindsey Fowler while watching!

Great episode, Carson! I'm a sock knitter and designer (and occasionally teach sock knitting classes at my lys where I work) and so I very much enjoyed your list of sock patterns and added several to mt queue! 😁 You asked for more. I have several free sock patterns on Ravelry: Up & Down Vanilla Swirl, Little Sprouts in the Rain, and FSSF are a few. They are written for both toe up and cuff down, have a mini gusset with a short row heel, and have 6 sizes. Two of those are specifically shorties. So there's some more options for you! 😁

Ohh, the craggy socks are lovely, I'mgoing to add them to my queue! I have a pair of Springfrost (The Petite Knitter) socks on my needles...but I realised I need to make the next size up. They are going to be lovely though 😍

It's hot here too! Sooo hot. I stopped all knitting with wool and am using cotton sock yarn. Since my favorite socks to wear are shorties, the size has not changed, just the fiber.

I appreciate the great line up of free sock patterns. I mostly knit socks and all year round but Summer is the height of sock knitting season for me. Love participating in the summer sock knit-alongs as it’s motivating and inspirational for me. For learning how to knit a different heel there’s lots of tutorials on RUclips for example Earthtones Girl’s shadow wrap heel in her No Fear Sock series (Episode 9 I think) just knit your leg an inch longer than you normally would because it sits lower than the entire heel flap/heel turn bit. You can use it as a substitute in most sock patterns and it’s the one I do for all of my gift socks, though I use an even easier version (paid pattern on Ravelry ) in the pattern Vanilla Cream Cuff Down by Thais Bueno or her What The Heel roomier version for high instep or wider feet (I use that version for my dear husband and son both of whom have extra wide feet).

I love the row counting app! I've been using it for maybe 2 years. The sock patterns are all so pretty I want to make a couple but think the ruffles are on the top of the list!

The Ariose Socks have been in my queue forever, I think you've convinced me to finally get them on my needles! I'd also like to recommend the Spring Trellis Socks by Cindy Hagen. It's sorta like a modified 2 x 2 broken rib, and it's also free! I just finished my pair and I love them so much.

I’m knitting some dk socks rn. Emily Bolduan- Basic Bed Socks. I’m pretty new to knitting still so I have a lot of techniques to learn but I think they’re working up nicely :) As a first timer, toe up wasn’t too bad. You should give it a go

I'm working on some scrappy socks right now. I have made two pairs of Lyne Socks, but the chart didn't make sense to me, so I sort of reworked it for the cuff so that it made sense to me. If anyone wants that chart I'd be happy to send it to you.
