Hi y'all, thanks for joining! I decided to sit down for a super casual knit and chat :) I talk about everything from my new cast on (spoiler - it's socks), my 2024 knitting intentions, organizing my yarn, notions, and house, and of course - BOOKS I'm reading.

My cure for second sock syndrome is to always cast on the second sock right after you’ve cast off the first. Even if that’s all you do, just cast it on. That way, it’s easier to pick up later.
This works for me too! Same thing with the second mitten and the second sleeve

Lovely to knit and chat with you😊 One of my intentions this year is to not stress with my knitting. It's not like I need more sweaters in my wardrobe😅 So I want to just enjoy knitting and take my time. Right now I am knitting on the Dartmoor sweater by Caidree in lots of mohair scraps. It's a colorparty🎉😂

Start the second sock when you’re half way done with the first sock. Also I’ve been working on beanies. 🤣 they’re addicting and a fast serotonin boost lol
I either do socks two at a time, or in tandem (cuff 1, cuff 2, leg 1, leg 2, heel 1, heel 2, etc). I never cast off my first sock and then start my 2nd. I think I would run out of motivation!
When I do two at a time, I separate them for the heels. So, I'll work on the first heel, and then the 2nd, then rejoin for the rest of the sock. If I'm doing heel/flap/gusset, I'll keep them separated until I'm doing with the gusset.
Hi Carson. I'm currently knitting the Felix cardigan for my Mom. I never had second sock syndrome. My favourite socks I knit were Beachgrass by Joji and Curio socks by Andrea Mowry. My intentions in knitting is finishing my WIPs and a no buy until September. I want to be more minimalistic. I also want to spin more with my drop spindles. I also am very hard on myself as I am a slow knitter and do not finish things quickly... I play fiddle and read too.
A lot of people knit for anxiety relief but it’s not usually mindlessly soothing for me either. It could be that I tend to knit things that are challenging to me
love the knit and chats! I'm working on two baby girls sweater knits and finishing up a pair of Christmas socks. Next up a hat cast on from Summer Lee (i forgot the name of the pattern) and looking for a pattern for a sweater for me. I really want to knit that cute little frog pattern and make some tiny clothes for it...Spring will be here and i think i need a frog ,,, and then a bunny
Definitely do 2 at a time if it’s a simple sock. It takes longer, but I like that both socks end up exactly the same. Watch the tutorial to cast on, and then come back to it before you do the heel cause the set up for a heel flap and gusset is NOT intuitive. I haven’t tried any other heel construction so maybe there is an easier way 😂
Im doing lots of ankle socks most in DK i too have second sock problem soo i start at least 6 prs. never get bored either Lol😅
