    When I find tips that I love, I write down the correct sizes for each nail and then tape it inside the tip box for future reference. This makes doing my nails much quicker and then I don’t have to shuffle through each size every time.

    Hi there . Thanks for this awesome video.just a question. What's the reason for not filing the shine off inside the extension.. is that step not suppose to make the extension adhere longer to natural nails

    • @katesnails
      @katesnails  11 месяцев назад +1

      hi! you can most definitely do that step, and i have in a few of my gel extension videos. i don’t notice a super big difference in wear an adhesion, so it’s totally personal preference.

      hi! i would recommend either using a specifically labeled product like that comes in a kit or something like that, otherwise a clear builder gel would most likely work. a normal gel base coat might not be thick enough.

    I used to do dip before I got super busy with school. I don't have the time anymore to both mine and my moms nails. I'd spend one day removing everything and filling it in and then the next day, I'd be polishing them with gel. It's just way too much for me. I'm assuming full cover gelly tips are the best and quick alternative? Of course I'd take my time, but it wouldn't be such a long process with filling the acrylic, shapping the nails, prepping for the gel polish, and etc. I know you still have to prep the nail bed before you put the tips on, and slightly rough up the top of the gelly tips, but can you put 1-3 layers of builder gel on top of the tip for extea support? I keep my nails relatively short, I have them just pass my nail beds They wouldn't break as easily with these especially since the tips are more flexible and my nails are shorter? I'm sorry if I'm asking too much and how long this was. I really miss having my nails and I'm just trying to find the best alternative besides dip that doesn't take so long, but still gives the same results. I guess what I'm trying to ask, since I don't even know really myself, is that will it feel like your nails are super flimsy if you don't put builder gel on top of the tips? I'm going to anyways regardless, but I'm just wondering in case I'm in a situation where I can't put any on. Again, I apologize if this is too long and asking too much. I want to be 100% educated with these before I go ahead amd buy them!

    • @katesnails
      @katesnails  Год назад +2

      hi! i would definitely recommend this type of product to you. they are still strong without the builder gel or other product on top, but i would recommend extra product for more durability. if you keep them relatively short however that wouldn't be an issue. the process is much quicker as well!

      i recommend making sure there aren’t bubbles in the gel before applying into the tip, and also applying at a 45 degree angle from cuticle to free edge to push any bubbles that may exist out! as for a nude nail, you may just need to apply more coats to get an even application.
