I was shocked to hear the Commissioner of Police say "..we don't know the original colour..." of the Hilux jeep. Everything about the car's original status is contained in the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) including the colour of the body, the colour of the seats, etc. That a CP of police is ignorant of VIN is a big shame to the Nigerian police.
He has no regret!!! A graduate!! Why should a bright young educated man regret his actions in a country where the so-called leaders are the fattest criminals of the nation. Young man, I bear your pain - NO REGRETS!!!
Now l understand from all the comments, we are our own enemies. You have spoken the truth Sir, whether it happens to you or someone else. The truth is the cause of the problem are the leaders. Go to Sweden, l doubt if they have people in their prisons. A country that its leaders are dedicated to the country as Patriots is like the Good shepherd story told by Our lord Jesus.
Why can't the NPF post the VIN and Chassis number of every car they recovered? That way it will be easier for the owner to bring forth the original registered document to claim it. He kept saying "let the owner come". How will the owner identify a car by just seeing images. Even plate numbers are not showing on the image. Why can't they just make life easier for once in this country?
The most painful irony is that the owners of the trucks will be forced to pay the police to recover their vehicles from the police despite their pain and suffering from the robbers and car thieves.
Peter Tosh once said " Everybody talking about Crime, Crime. Tell me who are the criminals". A country of continues hardship without the hardship taking a break, tell me what do we expect? . Everybody cant be the Saint in times like these. Crime is evil and most especially that which has to do with abduction or killing. But we all know the truth of the matter. FIX THE COUNTRY OUR LEADERS. A country without Security, No electricity, No running water, Universities on strikes for 7 months, A failed medical system, no social welfares incase you lose your job or no job at all, no price control system policy, no infrastructures, no train routes but just one or two, unemployment, no industries apart from a handful to serve the need of 230 million people, high percentage of illitracy due to the cost of education. We have everything out of order. Not one
What are the police doing about our politicians.... DSS you people dont arest politicians any more? Why is it poor masses you people parade 😡... you dont parade politicians .... corruption in its peak 😡
Crime is a bad vice and must be condemned. But the car snatcher without regret can speak fluently more than the police officer talking. Government should help the situation by creating jobs for unemployed youths.
Kudos to the Nigeria 🇳🇬 Police. The journey to perfection is long and tough but you will get to your destination with the momentum and morale you have🤔Kudos👍❤️
Because when the Head doesn't show a good example the weak can't emulate emptiness of the head. Leaders with empty heads and nothing always to offer the people.
I know they will drag an Igbo man to this CP of FCT position and see how tireless nd smart the man is. But govt will not still understand that poverty and lack of jobs will make insecurity endless. The day i listened to him on channels i became more convinced of his capacity and you can see how the insecurity in FCT is melting, but when it comes to appoint the IGP he will be termed IPOB......
During campaign is not our politicians that used and abandoned them, well what they did is not good but let our leaders do the needful to help the youths be it's too late
There are robbers who rob with pens. They are called distinguished and honorables when there is nothing distinguished or honorable about them. A graduate turn into car snatcher, it happens in a place called Nigeria where the president himself is yet to clear his name of allegations of being an ex-pabko escoba, his mantra was grab it, run with it and that is exactly what the car snatchers did, unfortunately they got caught. Nigeria is a county where crime pays, hard working people are forced to leave the country to seek greener pasturesvfor fear of kidnappers. I used to believe it will be well with the country, but presently am only SMH.
Another foolish Journalism. You are supposed to interview convicted felon not a suspect. You are making it difficult for any judge to find the accused guilty. Keeping showing us Nigerian home videos and calling it Journalism. Yeye dey smell.

Check d engine number of each vehicle to know d plate number and original owner to call or write them to come and collect their vehicles.
Brilliant comment.
they tempered with the engine number n chasis number
You don’t know they have machines now to rewrite the engine n chassis numbers these days?.
No single experience to solve the problems only lies
you think they are interested in this suggestion ? they are also thieves

look into the case of the man who said he was called to buy a car and he didnt know it was a stolen vehicle, he might be saying the truth
From the price he bought the car you will know if he knew the car was stolen even if they managed to deceive him with fake papers and particulars.
