pre-T trans guy here who was considering using folx before the new and unnecessary price changes gave me a headache LMFAO this alternative information is extremely appreciated!!
I’ve never heard of plume at all TBH but for the longest of time I had to do some form of 3rd Party between job loss, homelessness, and even when I was in the Army (self explainable-refer to Bush JRs Don’t Ask Don’t Tell Policies). Gate keeping was a big issue with me being able to receive HRT in the South with the majority being super religious wasting your time and money with low key tryna make you cis. Now I get my HRT thru Planned Parenthood I’m not sure which I pay more for but it seems like Plume would be even cheaper.
Thank you for this. My egg cracked about 10 months ago, but I've kinda been avoiding looking in to how to get HRT because I was afraid of how much it would cost. But this has shown me it can be very reasonable. I don't think I can afford it just yet, but hopefully it won't be too long before I can. And when I do, I'll be checking out Plume first
I've been stuck for 9 years and I can't afford any hrt. Pretty much close to the breaking point.. all these states in America is starting to ban healthcare. I can't get on HRT through medicaid in Florida. It's excruciating. not only that, but I have unsupportive parents which makes it harder. 99$ a month on no income, especially when you can't work because of the hyperactivity is like a million dollars a month. It's just to much. 😢 I can't afford 3,000$ either. I can't continue living life like this. I'm always in dread and feeling cursed. It's awful. Thanks for the wonderful video.
I'm sorry for the late response. There are various organizations and groups that can help u try to get hrt if u can reach out to them. www.pointofpride.org/hrt-access-fund Here is one that u can check out that says they can give ur first year free. Hope it helps.
is this a place to start? or should i look into other things? my therapist isnt helping me too much figure this stuff out and i have been clueless for the last year
If you don't have insurance, this is a wonderful place to start. Absolutely no gatekeeping and there are doctors to explain and guide you the whole way. I cant express how great this really is.
Hello it’s been a while since we talk it’s OK if you don’t remember me I don’t really expect you to reply to me but I want to thank you for helping me to find out what Plume on it for almost a year now and everything is going great
Hello. Been gone for a bit but starting to come back. Glad plume is working out for you. I am still using it and everything is super easy to change medications and get blood work.
I am in Oklahoma which is really conservative. The most important part of coming out in one of these states is that you either have a really good support group or honestly I would just move to a different state when possible. At least during this lifetime I have a feeling the conservative states aren't going to change. I still see people with Trump flags on their trucks riding throughout town..... T_T
@@KawaiiTea yes it’s the one I got when I finished setting up plume (everything in the video) I’m just wondering if they’ll call me or if I need to join something like how it works with zoom, just don’t wanna miss it lmaoo thank you
@Bridgetfidget18 it should tell u everything. The app they use for communicating is called Spruce. It's been so long since I first did it I can't remember if it's on Spruce or not for the first

I just watched your Plume vid I made a website that lets you create a wishlist and add hormones and medical care from GenderGP. You can then use your community to help fund your transition. Is this something you would use? Would you be open to reviewing our website?
Hello. Sorry I just now am responding to your comment. Been on a hiatus for a bit. But if u are still interested I wouldn't mind checking out your site.
@@KawaiiTea Hey welcome back. The website is called Blessa - a platform that enables creators to receive gifts from their community, without exposing their address. Instead of sending the purchased item directly to you, Blessa sends you the money from the purchase, so you can choose how you want to use it. So, if someone buys you a $10 item, you receive the full $10. Since Blessa sends you the money directly, you can add items from any source, including hormones.
@@KawaiiTea We have some trans users using Blessa to fundraise. I just followed you on Twitter and IG. Since, I can't drop links here, can I message you there?
@@AlmaMia-w7y hormones are so good at fixing your body. Everything from the curves of your body to how you smell estrogen solves a lot of our problems. 💖
The thing with health insurance is that it is usually over $99 when it's not provided by the business. And then u have to pay for a gender therapist and that's where gatekeeping comes in. Not to mention plume includes blood work so not paying for that and therapist appointment can save u a lot.
This service sounds amazing and if I could afford it I would almost certainly start, but either way trans people are notoriously underemployed. I hoped it would be something that could be used while on social insurance to get past the gatekeeping. I understand that the problem isn't with Plume or Kawaí Tea, but the point is it's still inaccessible to a lot of the people who need it.
I've heard about Plume, but I've been getting my hormones through Kind Clinic, which is essentially the same thing but for Texans.
That's awesome. I'm glad there are more programs to help trans people.
Thank uuu
Oh shit, I live in Texas! I'll be sure to check it out.

I highly recommend it. Zero gatekeeping since most of the doctors r trans. I literally got my hormones the day after my appointment.
I'm from the UK, so I don't know if this'll apply to me. But thank you for this anyway, because others in the US could really use this! :3
I'm not sure what the u.k. has but I hope it's not too bad over there for trans people
I’m in Germany . How was your experience so far ? Any luck?
I wish hrt was free and w/o parental consent :(
I know. When u get a bit older it becomes easier to get but if your parents don't agree I hate that they can prevent it.

FOLX is $195.83 a month with meds. How does Plume compare?
I also don't have a Bank account so no Credit or Debit card. Is that necessary??
Sorry for extremely late response. I think my meds don't equal the $95 more that Folx costs so I think plume is still usually cheaper

What about blood work ?
U schedule an appointment every 3 months with quest labs and it's completely free and they guide u thru it. Really simple
Is there an option to get the hormones delivered to you . I haven't left my house since covid
@Willowbbxo yes there is actually 3-4 different mailing pharmacies that they use.
I want to try this but I know they require some kind of ID and I don't have a drivers license or anything, what do they accept for that?
I think u do need to have some sort of legal ID to show ur age. Also might need it when u get lab work too.
If u have a source of income u could get an ID that's not a license until u get a driver's license if that's what u r doing.
