    I assume they don’t use the construction methods of the original
    Micro Mono-Filament technology refers to Nordost’s patented process of separating the conductor from its FEP insulation. During production, each conductor is intricately and uniformly wrapped in a single strand (Micro) before being encased in an extruded layer of high quality FEP. The process for DMF is very similar, except that instead of a single strand, the conductor is wrapped in a twisted pair (Dual) of FEP Mono-Filament before the extrusion layer. This highly precise process allows every conductor to be surrounded by its own air dielectric. This revolutionary insulation process is directly responsible for the dramatic increase of signal speeds and excellent mechanical damping found in Nordost cables.

      Reading that I'd rather say that they dont have marketing department and dont do poetry on insulation. Which may explain price difference (partially at least) ;)

Its about 4 days now with these cables and oh man.I will try to put it this way.If someone would have told me they changed something in my system and with out looking I have to try and figure out what it was.I would have guessed that they upgraded the DAC.There was an immediate and noticeable change.All positive.Sound stage widened and deepened. I can hear much more into the music with more detail separation and clarity.Better bass,better everything really.I would not have thought that this DAC(Fiio K11 R2R)would be able to show this much detail.
      I have had a few higher end amps and Dacs but I have never spent more than $50 on speaker cables or interconnects. The only other speaker cables I have ever used are Blue Jeans and the red ones from Amazon that Steve Huff talked about. I think that having access to these kinds of cables could wind up saving people alot of money and I don't mean on just cables. Before spending hundreds or thousands on upgrading various components just try these cables first and see what you think. 😉
      It gives one the chance to sort of hack the whole idea of only buying cables that are price appropriate for your system. I'm getting the Odin Gold interconnects and an Odin coax cable in today.Cant wait to see what they do. When the SLP-90 clone arrives that I ordered almost a month ago I think I will be in Chi-Fi hog heaven. I already am honestly.

      These are probably the same, the cable itself doesnt have any branding and heatshrinks are just for aesthetic reasons.

    @Acoustic_Theory 2 месяца назад +2

    I took a chance on some lookalikes of these from another seller, and I am disappointed. For one thing, they are using the Nordost trademark on the heat shrink which is illegal for them to do (not that anyone can stop them unless Customs gets involved), but also the banana plugs are not the correct rolled-pin ones as shown above; they are the expanded-pin type that can break off in banana sockets. As they say, there is no honor among thieves, and apparently there's no consistency either.

    I’m big fan of Nordost cables, but I just don’t understand the appeal of buying a knockoff. Anyone who knows the real product will spot a fake anyway, so why bother? I get it that most people don’t want to pay the prices the genuine Nordost cables command, but people buying these and other knockoffs are just fooling themselves. Btw, every genuine Nordost cable has a serial number which they can use to verify authenticity, so you won’t even be able to sell these a the real thing later on.

    • @k4syx
      @k4syx  3 месяца назад +3

      @@RichTeer yes these are obviously fakes but that's not the point here :)
      The point is to check how do they sound. If the main "ingredients" for good sound "recipe" are materials and geometry, then following that recipe with the same geometry but lower quality materials should still be worth something.
      And the question is, how much of the final result comes from geometry, and how much of it comes from materials purity.
      That's what I'm trying to learn here reviewing them. And maybe, maybe to learn something on geometries too; which ones do work, what are common themes here.
