This is very enjoyable to watch. The lightheartedness with which saintmillion handles stressful and frustrating moments is inspiring. Had a good laugh and could not help but bite my nails in every intense situation, especially towards the end.
This was my favorite GDQ speed run I've ever watched because it had every good element of streamed speed running. A fantastic game to watch, great technical skills, a few glitched spots, and informative and entertaining commentary from the runner and his supporting cast. Really well done by all.
I cannot say this enough, but that announcer for donations/the comments attached TO donations is incredible. She's beyond sincere, takes the time to convey the donor's emotion and well... she likes the swamp! Really though, I've done 3 charity events that were NOTHING compared to this, so it's refreshing to see someone like this doing their thing. Go you person. And go you AGDQ team - looking forward to a couple weeks from now for AGDQ 2017!
Never ever played dark souls but I bought this game for PS3 and I realized I was getting deployed to Afghanistan and would probably die there so I set a goal to beat this game before I deploy and it was my greatest accomplishment because this game was hard asf! G_G still here bby!
I'm watching this after playing 20 hours of Sekiro. I love coming back and seeing where it all started for Miyazaki. Demon's Souls is such a crazy game; it shouldn't even exist. It's crazy that it was even successful enough to fund another entry. So many bold mechanics, some of which were never repeated. But it paved the way for an amazing trilogy, Bloodborne, and now Sekiro. Fromsoft has become a rare dev that we can count on to output quality content; to prioritize the game experience over making a quick buck. Sekiro is such an amazing game, I'm so happy we've had a chance to play all these wonderful gems. I played Demon's years ago and it got me hooked and took me on such a ride. And we've ended up in a great place :)
Well, this is not where it started... It started with PS1 and PS2 games, which in turn roots back to very old dungeon crawler games, but Demon's Souls introduced the online and more fast paced aspect of it, which honestly was pretty revolutionary, and they did that on PS3 because that's what PS3 could do that PS2 couldn't. :p
I get where you're coming from, but Demon's Souls is actually where Miyazaki came in and got his big break, completely redesigning the game in the image he saw fit. And it introduced a lot more than just online and faster gameplay! But for me, Miyazaki's touch is what makes the games special, so that's why I say it's where it all started. @@MMasterDE
@@omarsheriff51 Which 2? There's two 2. KF2 USA/EU? If so, that's really KF3. There's even enemy models in Demon's Souls source code from KF4. I think KF4 and Tower Abyss will remind you a lot more about Demon's, but there's a lot of stuff from KF3 or even KF1 (JP). There's so much they take from those games. Almost nothing new. Even more fun is the inspiration for KF, which is clearly games like Wizardry. :) It likely is Wizardry too, and you can tell by the KF Addition games for the PSP.
+TheBlackfall234 Nope. You haven't played demon's or you don't remember 3. As far as I recall, there is no world tendency, no weapons that knock you miles away if they hit you, not the same weapon upgrades, no boss that you can impersonate if you drop your sign, no boss that goes right through your shield to force you to play as a two handing badass, NOTHING LIKE ASTRAEA'S theme, there are way more bonefires in DS3 than archstones in DES, no hidden paths with epic weapons unlocked upon following a pact (the closest thing to world tendency), no op wog, there's a lot of differences between the two. Most souls carry the same mechanics and themes but there's an abyss between DES and DS3 (see what I did there?).
It isn't there when the videos are first posted, the start time in the description and the title card are only added later when they clean up the videos.
This was my second Souls game, and as a casual I found the areas rather brutal and the bosses pathetic. Whenever I passed through a fog gate and music started up it was a huge relief. Didn't use magic at all, just a huge axe :)
This is soo cool what you do for Doctor without border . Good continuation to your enterprise ( and sry for my bad english if i make a mistake/error when i talk ^^ ) And i love this game :)
This game took away my social life and it took me 3 months to finish it. And here i see people finishing it in 1 hour. I think it took me 1 hour to finish the tutorial.
Fuck yeah! I love it a lot more when runners go ''for the sake of this speedrun and being a marathon I'm going to do something that takes time but I'll fuck with a game you enjoy watching to show how you can break it further'' a lot more than the boring ''for the sake of this marathon I'm not going to even try this really cool strat that rarely works that you'd probably love to see an attempt of, but I won't because reasons'' that I translate to: ''I'm not trying to do this thing because I've actually never done it''. I mean, I don't expect any of these to get a world record, I want to see them go through as fast as they can while showing off as many cool unique tricks and glitches as possible. I can understand it if you lose a minute if you fail even once but if you'll only lose 10-20 seconds for trying a couple of times to dpsomething that's cool to watch before moving on I'd rather see that.
It more like it's really likely to f up this trick which will put me behind the scheduled time and gdq really hates when games go over schedule, so I'm not going to try the cool trick so I can have a more controlled time.
Never played demon souls but just a confusion... It is the first game right? Prior to Dark souls? So why couch guy said storm ruler it blatantly copied from DS3?
lmao wouldn't it be hilarious if i kept drawing comparisons between the souls games and acted like demon's souls came out AFTER the other ones? and then i just kept doing it the entire time the game was being played? epic lulz incoming.
Agreed. The joke was okay the first time, but keep doing it for over an hour...? Ugh. Instead of delivering insightful lore related commentary or interesting bits about the game. Like those three phantoms at the end before Old King Allant actually being the generals of King Allant you fought as Demonic form before (Phalanx, Tower Knight, Penetrator). No mention of the 6th lost archstone or anything of relevancy. Demon Souls is quite intriguing, there is a lot about it's development and it's world to say. This felt like a huge missed opportunity compared to what some other runners have done before.
57:00 Man with pink hair, why'd you call one of the best tracks in all of the Soulsborne by Shunsuke Kida 'cheesy music'? It just sounds silly. Please show at least one '80's action movie' where I can listen to something like that It's not a big deal and a bit picky but somehow I felt obliged to point that out also this comment probably will never be read by you lol
How is this game a copy of ds3 if demon souls was created first then dark souls 123 just looked it up so if anything all thos games are a copy of damon souls
58:00 I love the icon for the Cat Ring in the upper left corner. It looks like someone just photographed their cat and stuck it in the game.
haha wow! I never used it in DeS, just in the dark souls games. That is a straight up pet jpeg!
This always stuck out to me.
I think it's the cat of the creator of the game.
I know im late but that is the cat of Miyazaki

Demon souls best souls
Even after all those deaths, he still came out with a pretty decent run.
This is by far the best souls game when it comes to atmosphere, music and envioroment and such.

lol sprint bar. that's a speed runner for sure
Sure, what else should it be used for, except sprinting :D
Best run of the show
Pepsiman was better imo :D
That one was good too just for the humor but this one was fun to watch the the runner/couch were great.
This and dark souls first one were the best of the franchise. Just my opinion.
The man with the pink hair is so funny, repeating the same dark souls joke over and over man I had a belly laugh every time
SKELETON WARRIORS DANANANA NA NAAAAA NANANANANA
Skeleton-chan SKELETON BALL!
Skeleton-chan pog
This is exactly what goes through my mind every single time I see a skeleton in a video game
Very fun to watch. Love the comments and the couch.
This was a great run. Bring this runner back.
I wish they'd HD remake this game for PS4. I badly want to play it again but I don't have room to setup my PS3 in the living room anymore.
just play dark souls 3. Seems pretty similar to me.

I can’t believe he called that music cheesy. It’s the best song in the soulsborne franchise
The overall disdain the couch had for the game as a whole feels pretty bad.

If you read an interview from the developers about this game they said they didn't intend for the bosses to be very difficult.
Man I wish this game had a PC port.
I don't think RPCS3 works with the ps store version of Demon's Souls, actually.
its not in the ps arcade?
i picked up parasite eve not to long ago on my ps4 so i imagine you can get this game also
Demon souls is now playable on PC thanks to RPCS3 😬
Playable at 4k 60fps on RPCS3 on my rig, so might as well be a pc port
