To be honest, I think this would be a cool spinoff series Namco Bandai could do alongside Soul Calibur. I mean they are the go to guys for weapon fighters (though Soul Calibur 5 sucked). Id pay for a DW weapons fighter if the guys behind Soul Calibur did it.
DW 6 was where they started to experiment even more on gameplay. Glad they started to get better and brought back the gameplay we love. The only company I know that is actually smart and actually know what fans want.

The PS2 series in Japan is called "Shin Sangoku Musou", so the fighting game actually isn't part of the series at all. Dynasty Warriors 7 would actually be the 6th title of the series (originally called "Shin Sangoku Musou 6" in Japan).
if dw had stayd a fighting game it would have never made it this long ,koei was smart to make it what it is today ,but it would be nice to see koei give us a fighting game again

Even though this game turned into a Hack & Slash game since DW2, But the fun fact is, this DW has the most challenging Officer vs Officer of all of the DWs, totally a fighter style game indeed.

CoD has not done anything innovative to the FPS genre in ages. CoD4 and Black Ops both have the same gameplay, just set in different maps with slightly different weapons. Oh wow, they added more killstreaks!! So innovative! No, there's nothing innovative whatsoever about CoD. Also, just about every game in existence is "repetitive" by nature. Just because YOU don't like DW doesn't mean it's a fact that it's a bad series.
May not be the best fighting game ever but this still holds a special place in my heart. Also for a PS1 game I think this one looks pretty good. Much better than the first two Tekkens.
bert lancaster I mean it plays a lot more like Virtua Fighter (Cross) Soul Edge. The combat has next to no weight to it and the movement is pathetically floaty. It's such a pain in the ass to play compared to so many other, better fighting games of that generation.
I remember playing the demo of this a long time ago with you did receive a demo disc with the original PS1. You could only play as CaoCao if I remember. And yes, the movelist.. sort thumbs followed afterward.

i dont know why koei decided to make so many dynasty warriors games (more than call of duty when you factor in xtreme legends and empires). i think the series needs 3-4 years off and a fresh reboot. even creating a fiction-based historical story just to keep things interesting.
i LOVE all of the games from this series, from 2 to 5(fuck anything after 5) and the samurai warriors games and especially the warriors orochi games. i had NO idea this shit was a fighter. makes me laugh how from this one to the 2nd one, it was a total change
I play all dw series but for me in dw4 he was the strongest just beacuse they come with new moves with triagle so you can t defend from that in dw3 i kill him not so easy but i did in dw4 i never kill him unless u have max charachter
I don't know what you're talking about, but telling that WO3 is better than WO1/2 or "WOZ" is really kinda unforgivable for me. :p coz the stages in 3 were not as funny as WO1/2 or Z graphics aren't what makes GAMES EXACTING, & I'm not saying that the graphic aren't a major thing in gaming but they're not imporant as gameplay value.

It turned from Sangoku Musou (DW) to Shin Sangoku Musou (DW2). It's from then how the Japanese version got its numbers.
Funny thing is, this game isn't part of the "Dynasty Warriors" series as we know it in Japan. Our Dynasty Warriors 7 is their DW6.

May not be the best fighting game ever but this still holds a special place in my heart. Also for a PS1 game I think this one looks pretty good. Much better than the first two Tekkens.
