If you notice, Lu Bu's ending music is a more fast paced higher pitch to the opening riff to the main theme song what the series becomes later. That is just insane.
I'm guessing you werent aware you could jump and square attack when zhuge Liang was doing his crouching laser attack instead of standing there and taking it like a man lol
I forgot how much I enjoyed the soundtrack of this game despite not being able to fully immerse myself into the gameplay. I vaguely recall there being a lot of hidden characters to unlock? Fond memories of the clash system. Seems as if weapon based fighters typically have it over fisticuff fighters.
Proper 90's style period fighting game soundtrack... for some of the tracks it's done in a "groovy" way as well. You won't get these kinds of themes any more.
Even if we did it wouldn't be considered authentic. There's something special about fighting games. You can always appreciate them, but if you try to do so going backwards, it just ain't the same. But I suppose the same can be said for all forms of entertainment.
Instead of blocking incoming attacks, why not time it and use Lu Bu's Power Strike (back + triangle) which goes into a parry then counter attack. Another tip is to not always connect with his Shish Kabob throw after a successful Death Strike or Musou 2. Instead, as soon as the strike stuns the opponent go into a Crescent Sweep ( > > + square) then Total Eclipse (quarter circle front to back + square) for more damage.
Ok, so to unlock zhuge Liang , complete the arcade with all Shu characters : ie guan yu ,zhang fei , Zhao Yun To unlock cao cao complete arcade with all wei characters : dian wei , xiahou dun and Xu Zhu Finally to unlock Lu Bu complete the arcade with Zhou yu , Lu Xun, Taishi Ci Zhuge Liang and Cao Cao: (also complete it with it Diao Chan as well just to be sure ,but the faq says you only need to complete it with the above characters) Ps there are 3 other characters you can unlock also after you've completed the arcade mode with Zhuge Liang , Cao Cao and Lu Bu . (Toukichi, Nobunaga and Sun xiang xiang) but they require a button combination unlock to be inputed at the press start screen.... Also if you wish to keep Toukich, Nobunaga and Sun xiang xiang unlocked permanently make sure you SAVE YOUR GAME after unlocking them or you will need to re input the codes at the start menu because when you switch off the game, if you havent saved it after unlocking them you will lose them

omg this was buried deep in my memory I forgot the first Dynasty Warrior was a fighting game looking at the rosters screen brought all that shit back
all warriors games had the best soundtrack
And this series becomes more like a crowd control Final Fight battlefield starting with the second game.

Just played few days ago and id say its better to watch then actually play do to how janky it is although it is nice to know the roots of greatness.

How u unlock them??? I played my whole childhood in the hope to unlock them... never worked ;( won with even all chars
If I remember correctly you have to beat the game without losing a single round. I tried really hard when I was kid, never managed to unlock Lu Bu
Use a cheat code or Xiahao Dun.
