Eh, I don’t think she was the #2 option. Last year, Monika was definitely #2. This year, it was Hannah. I think that’s just the way Iowa wants to play. I would say transition would be the best thing to describe #2 for Iowa this year.
She’s humble? Which she should be and even if she was captain and number 2 best, SHE is the only one who has to look in the mirror and deal with the doubt in herself, it’s normal all humans doubt themselves. She’s gotta get into her own grove and get more confidence.
Gotta hand it to the Aces. They really know how to build a quality roster around their superstars. Kate Martin is all class and I hope I'm able to enjoy her talent on & off the court for many years.
Thanks to AC and other Aces vets.... Kate's rookie year could not have been scripted better.

KM's parents should be really proud. KM was a great high school players, goes to Iowa figures out how to play with Clark instead of demand the team focus on her. Clark absolutely loves her, goes to the Aces with one of the best players of all time. She clearly fits with the team in under 20 games it is obvious the team loves her.
I hope through a little work we get to see her make an all-star game or two over her career.
I was voting for Kate as an All Star until she made the vid telling us to stop.

Always a pleasure to see Kate. Loved her time here in IACity and she was a joy to watch. Was overjoyed the Aces drafted her and make it a point to tune into her games. While a CC and Fever fan alway a HUGE fan of Kate. Seeing her play for the Aces is a joy and while I knew names of players sadly didn’t really tune in. But with Kate in the team I decided when my Fever wasn’t playing would watch Kate. As a result I’ve gotten to see how good Wilson,Plumm and more are and really enjoy watching the game…yea even when Kate not in the court😁
The way the team has embraced Kate is awesome and is yet another reason why beyond their amazing skill that I love to tune into watch their games.
I’m just glad that Kate has gotten the opportunity to grow in Las Vegas. I look at Nika in Seattle and she hardly gets any playing time at all. Credit goes to Becky Hammond for making sure that Kate gets minutes in no matter what, giving her a real chance to continue to grow and develop.
i was thinking the exact same thing. if Kate can get minutes on the same team that has Kelsey Plum, a back to back champion, Seattle should have no excuses for the minutes Nika gets

As a Hawkeye fan I always pull for my team, no matter where the players end up. Kate was such a great Hawkeye. Im so glad she got drafted to LV. Prime example of doing the "dirty work" and making it to the highest level. Keep kicking butt KM! Hawkeye Proud!

This Should Have Been Longer, I Can Listen 2 Them Talk All Day.
Kate Martin is living her best life. She was a good high school player who was always going to be a Hawkeye. She was a good college player who befriended Caitlin Clark at Iowa, benefitted from playing with Clark, and helped Iowa win three Big Ten championships and make it to two NCAA title games. What she learned during that process she now gets to apply to her career in the WNBA.
We all love Kate. A lot of it probably has to do with the fact that we all watched her in college and fell in love with her there first, but she's so vibrant; it's hard not to. Now she's seeing what we all did and I'm glad.

Literally in tears watching this. Kate IS a blessing- Everything AC was saying about her work ethic, taking care of the details, her heart… all of these things that make Kate’s fans so proud of her! Being drafted to a team (at all!!) to a coach and a team who understand her value and, know how to use her talents, and want to nurture and grow her- is so beautiful and wonderful. Glad that Kate has gotten a chance to play in the league, she’s a special player and person. It’s going to be hard for her to give up that $100,000 bonus the Aces’ players get, but I hope she eventually gets on a team where she can get regular minutes and gets to show what she can do. Would love to see her on the Fever.

@@mandyboo09ableCaitlin herself begged Kate to stay for her 6th year, even offering her a brand-new car. Caitlin knew she couldn't go that far without Kate, and she proved that last season. Without Kate, they wouldn't have beaten UConn, for example. But Kate was so much more important to that team than just points-she was the glue, the one who made them a true team. That was said repeatedly by the Iowa coaches and teammates. Yet, people want to push the narrative that Caitlin did it all by herself, ignoring what's right in front of them. Caitlin was undoubtedly the star and the best player on that team (she would be on any college team), and no one can take that away from her. But she didn't do it alone. Kate Martin was just as crucial to that team as Caitlin, and people tend to forget that easily.
