Best GIMP AND INKSCAPE TEACHER EVER! I have been watching nicks video's for months now and I have learnt so much, I just gotta Thank U Man! U the Best.
He really is. The only thing that would make his videos even better would be if he also applied his systematic approach on designing the series and not only the videos. In my opinion that would make his lessons even more effective and would automatically lead to more views on his other videos as one needs to watch them to progress in the learning process. But he seems to know what he does, maybe it's not his intention to use his RUclips channel like that. Nonetheless his videos are of outstanding quality.
You uploaded this tutorial just in time. I have an app to submit as a project, now I can make an icon for it. Thanks Nick, your tutorials are really helpful.
Amazing tutorial and great service to the design community! Thanks so much. I do have a problem with Paste Size. It doesn't seem to work for me on Mac. I tried it multiple times. Otherwise, I have managed to follow your tutorials including this one except for this one issue. Any idea what could be wrong?
Great video. Love your style. Happen to know a way to build a bunch of icons, and have each one save from the same page as separate SVG files (each file resetting the offset back to 0,0)? I assume that was what you were trying to do with Batch, but it fails. This seems to be what most of us would want to do, especially those of us that make a LOT of icons for a UI.
The batch export seems to work. You can't specify the folder however the individual selections are exported next to the inkscape file! I am using version 1.0.1
Nick, Can you help me? I need logo, but I don't know what can be it. Logo to nick "CresixU". I wanted C+U, but it's something like your logo and I don't wanna copy. Have you any Ideas?
Hi Nick, i have recently found your videos and they are great. Just one question - do you do all of your work in Inkscape (for vector graphics) and what is the reason you don't use Adobe Ilustrator? I am just curious, but i am actually really happy that you are using open source software for your tutorials.

I came back to this video yesterday ad i remember it mentioned batch export. Initially i was confused that it didn't work as i expected the same as you did: export severals selected items in several files. But i finally understand what the batch export is made for : export the same thing in several formats (ie one export to generate a pdf, a png, a jpeg .... At once). Maybe for once it's me teaching you something instead of the numerous time it was the opposite 😂
Love the video, thank you so much!!! Hate your interface though. It's great to work on, I'm sure; but a dark theme + custom icons == pain in the @$$ for a n00b to figure out what button you just clicked...
Thank you Nick for great informations, on Linux Mint 18.2 Sonya, Kernel 4.8.0-58 : Cinnamon 3.4.4, Batch export work fine (on Version 0.92) . Saves a lot of time.
Hello Nick! I hope you can help. Just downloaded Inkscape, and i have little problem, i don't have that x; y; width; hight tab. How do i open it? thanks.
Your tutorials are awesome! How do I save these icons as .ico file? My Inkscape version does not give that option. I used a .svg to.ico converter. But I need a set of icons in different sizes. Thanks!
Hi Nick, I love using Inkscape for some of my projects. Your video tutorials are awesome. I've learned a lot of new design techniques from them. Do you have a tutorial on creating a zigzag with Inkscape? If not would you consider creating one? Again thanks for your hard work providing these video tutorials. James
I guess I haven't made it to those videos yet. They're pretty restricted on what you can do so I thought I would ask. I ran into issues using them where I don't think my PC could keep up with it. Keep up the good work!
Thanks!
hey man ! I really love your channel ... discovered it like a day ago .. your tutorials are awesome , you make gimp and inkscape look so simple , learned a lot and btw you got so epic voice .. I hope your channel will grow like flowers 🌷
wow your channel is amazing Nick! let me ask you a dumb question... is it possible to use adobe files and open them up with GIMP, INKSPACE, KRITA? I mean, which files we can open it without getting errors? and also, could you make a video of your own review about these linux softwares, and what do you think about them compared to adobe ecosystem? I'm amazed with these softwares... I'd like to know more
Well I know that Photoshop files (.psd) can be opened in GIMP without a problem. If using a Linux OS, Illustrator files (.ai) can be opened with Inkscape, but there are sometimes errors. Same with .eps - Inkscape can open it, but there's something errors. Other than that, you best bet is to just pay for Adobe stuff if you really need to open their proprietary formats on a regular basis..
Thanks Nick. .psd is the mainstream, so I think I won't need .ai as I could see through your videos, Inkspace is less complex than photoshop while creating some stuffs. I may be wrong but, seems easy in some moments. Keep up with your videos, at the moment, I've never seen any channel better than yours. simply fantastic!
Hi Nick, some day also tell us how to export image. I know it's 'File> Export as png' but we get edge-to-edge image with that. Isn't it possible to get 1024X1024 resolution for some rectangular graphics?
Even 6 years ago, you already had this captivating voice.
From your student in your Inkscape course 👋

I hope you can help. Just downloaded Inkscape, and i have little problem, i don't have that x; y; width; hight tab. How do i open it?
thanks.
Do you have the Select tool selected? It only appears with the select tool.
oh wow, when i searched for any tabs that can be open i didn't realized i clicked on it and after i restarted inkscape its there.
Thanks. :D

Awesome work. Please continue. I just started studying making icons for my desktop apps.
I just don't seem to get out of your playlists... I decide to watch another channel but I am dragged back to your content...

Hey Nick , Can you please make A tutorial on Designing and preparing Characters In INkscape Please :( :( :(
Let me congratulate you Dude. Very profesional work. Thanks a lot.

Out of curiosity, why don't you use the Clone function? I know it doesn't work for all instances, but just curious if there was a reason.
I've used it in other tutorials. It's more time-consuming than other options, so I rarely use it.
I guess I haven't made it to those videos yet. They're pretty restricted on what you can do so I thought I would ask. I ran into issues using them where I don't think my PC could keep up with it.
Keep up the good work!
Can you actually use this software on mac in 2018 ? If yes, is it good for making app icons

Can you show us How To Design & Prepare App Icons in Gimp??

My user interface looks so wildly different I can't find half of the functions.
Hey nick I love your work first of all, could you do a tutorial on how to convert to ai, pdf.
Your awesome Nick much appreciated thanks man!

Hey Nick, Have you tried Affinity Designer? Im wondering how it is compared to Inkscape.
Haven't tried it yet, sorry
Nick, you're awesome. Cheers.
appreciate your work very much, thank you!
thank you nick!
Great video
great! as always!
Hi Nick, thanks as always for great content. Do you use a drawing tablet and do you recommend its us with illustrator/inkscape?
I don't use a drawing tablet and haven't tried using one, so I can't really make any recommendations either way.
Looking good! :D
Great!

I have a video explaining this. It's called Inkscape Explained: Exporting Files I think. It should appear if you search that term.
+Nick Saporito (LogosByNick) Thanks! I guess, I missed it. I will check it definitely!
PNG export in Inkscape is SO annoying.
First again 😀
