Wow! It's very interesting! I wanna try that on!(But in fact, I'm learning the basics of ios programing, and it's too hard...) Thank you for the video! I'll use that in the future...
Great guide as usual, Chris! I’m looking for a set of meal/food SF icons (burrito, taco, burger, etc). There not among the 1540 default icons: any idea where to get some?
According to the licence (unless I misread it), the SFSymbols are allowed to be used for mock-ups. It's either a typing error or my inexperience is showing at full opacity.
Hi, thank you for this video. I see the Environment Overrides icon in the bottom only when the stimulator is running. When only the canvas is open, it is not there so i can't choose dark mode from there. Can you tell me how find it? My xcode is 11.2.1
Dumb question here probably but I don't see the toolbar (Environmental overrides) and whatnot at the bottom m of my screen like you have. Any idea how to turn that on. I have looked but cannot seem to figure it out.
For vector artwork, I use Inkpad on my iPad Pro 12.9” Inkpad supports SVG and can be used to export PDF’s (indirectly) to an assets folder in Xcode. Inkpad saves me a lot of time.
Hey Chris, when I create a Segue using the main storyboard between view controllers it does that funny thing to the new screen which was introduced within the last update where you can swipe to switch screens. I really want to know how to stop this from happening because it doesn’t work for my game. Are you able to tell more or make a video on how to fix this. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Hello, maybe check out some properties of the segue and the presentation style check this article about it stackoverflow.com/questions/56435510/presenting-modal-in-ios-13-fullscreen - Francis
Hello Chris, Amazing series about SwiftUI. Before I used Icons8 from your recommendation the SFSymbols change the game for me. I have a question, how apps save user settings? for example, you may want to save Alam in your alarm app or save a note in the notes app, how to make it possible in SwiftUI? Thank you.
Hello, i suggest you look into EventKit from apple, it should be able to let you set alarms or notes using the calendar developer.apple.com/documentation/eventkit - Francis
Hi chris, there's any other option to sf symbols? they don´t have many animals and i need more, please if you know something let me know, to use on swiftUI.
"Hello, you can try checking out our icon resources like icons8 or fontawesome check out our quick video on FontAwesome hereruclips.net/video/opfNRC9NerI/видео.html - Francis"
"Hello, not really sure what you mean? SFSymbols are usable if you made an App for ios 13 and above,, its already built-in on the code so its not really that hard to access. if you are unfamiliar with how its named then try downloading the sfsymbols app so you can easily search and have a name for the symbol you want to use for your app - Francis"
Hello, as long as you have the SFSymbols imported in your assets folder of your app you should be able to use it regardless what OS version it was installed on - Francis
Very informative and i will be using SFSymbols for sure :)
Great!

Try flaticon or icons8.com
-Kat
CodeWithChris thank you: flaticons seems to have a bigger choice.
I do both. I prefer the original ones, but sometimes it is fun to create my own 😊
Cool! What do you use to create them?

CodeWithChris Mainly with Adobe XD, InDesign

Hello, pretty sure it can be used normally and not just for mock-ups
- Francis
CodeWithChris Yeah Apple got back to me and pretty much said the same thing. Fingers crossed haha.
I am using but in lower ios 13 it will not work my app is start 12version and above
👍
-Kat
These symbols are awesome but limitation of IOS 13 makes them useless at the moment. Because no one would like to restrict there app for IOS13 only .
Thanks for the feedback. 👍
-Kat
Hi Chris, what is the program you using for vector symbols? Thanks for your videos.
We use icons8.com. Thanks for watching! :)

Hello, if you are asking how to add darkmode when you just need to change your default uiview (superview) to the darkmode uiview
- Francis

Design my own graphics
Cool! What do you use for editing your graphics?
-Kat
I use keynote or GIMP
I do both. I still prefer original package because they ready-made & less hassle, but if I want my own logos/icons & modify them, I create my own.
Cool! What do you use to create icons?

@@CodeWithChris Photoshop & Gimp

MISTY DUAL It’s one of the presentation options. It should be somewhere in the right panel. Can’t remember exactly.
Hello, maybe check out some properties of the segue and the presentation style
check this article about it

Thanks guys I was able to fix my problem using the Present Modally option then by changing the presentation of the segue to full screen 👍

I don't have the bar which environments overrides belong to. I cannot activate it as well.

Hello,
Where is the calculator symbol in SF symbols? i'm using ios14
Hello, you can download the SFSymbols app provided by apple so you can take a better look at all the available icons that you can use
- Francis
Still missing the settings cog
For that, you can just use flaticon.com
-Kat
Chris, u are the best!!!
Thank you!! 🙌
- Kat
I use Icon Set Creator for the app icon
Awesome! Thanks for watching.

So if I wanted to use SFSymbols where we'd be also targeting iOS 13 or older, we export the symbols and then import them again into our assets?
