If you are going to go for a guy who is 5,000 miles away, unemployed, and wants you to send him money, you might as well walk outside and go chat up a homeless guy. At least he's local and you know he's real.
Keep your friends list private and don't accept friend requests from people you don't know in real life. If you accept strangers, NEVER send money or nude pics.
I asked him several times for a selfie and he always claimed he wasn't allowed to. each time he would contact me there was something he needed from me MONEY! after about a week of stringing him along I just blocked him. I never fell into the emotional trap he set and never sent this creep a single dime. I never could understand how some women could be so desperate for companionship they would give money, cars in the hopes that these so called soldiers would marry them or give them attention. the scam is like having a stranger come up to you on the street give you all kinds of compliments say they are in love with you within minutes of meeting you then ask you for 500.00 assuming you will just hand it over because you are desperate for companionship. stay alert to these snakes and don't assume everyone you meet online is a knight in shining armor, they are wolves in sheep's clothing.
Jim Jones. You're so right. Thanks about what I say when I read or see videos of these older women. (& men also) When we get older, like myself, the looks we had in our 20s / early 30s ate just not how we look in our 60s & 70s. Look at yourself in the mirror & ask yourself if that 26 yr old, buff, tanned, 6 ft. 'army' guy is really head over heels in love with you ? I get these friend request from mostly military guys all the time, I know exactly what I look like & know I'm almost 66 years old..my profile still says 'married' , so I delete them immediately.
They just know what to say ‘hello, baby’ 😂😂. Had encountered a few & they are always in the arm forces & they always has kids & wife died of cancer. Always a widower. I feel sorry for the armies their pictures are used by these low lives 😠
I get friend requests all the time saying he's a military guy in Afghanistan ..widowed and looking for a wife to take care of his only child..soon as I ask for pix of his dog tags..passport and drivers licence they disappear..
I love to have fun with them, usually ask them for their MOS and Unit they are with, or tell them that I'm also in harms ways and ask which camp he is in, and to meet me in half an h for a quick coffee
beryl bishop I get them telling me I'm so beautiful & look 'stunning'.. They want to get to know me..blah,blah blah.. I never respond, I delete them immediately. I know exactly what I look like, (I have mirrors in my house..lol) I'm a 65 yr old widow...i know a 20 or 30 something yr old young man is not going to be attracted to me. That's why I'm always amazed at people who fall for this. I am not going to part with money or my home,.. ect..that my husband & I worked for all our adult lives. If I have anything left when I die it'll go to our sons. The ones that DO love me.
Dirty Hippie. lol..thanks..im Not a genius by now means but smart enough to know what I look like. My husband passed away little over a year & a half ago, I have a house on a private lake w/ 2 lake front properties. Even if I found a man (but NOT online) even HE wouldn't get anything. What's mine is mine & what's his is his,the way I see it. What I have when I die will go straight to my son.
For a while I was getting very crude and explicit messages. One young man sent a nude photo with a photoshopped p.....that reached his chin! Not joking. I was flabbergasted.... The creep actually had an account with family photos etc...Stupidly I deleted it instead of reporting it/him. Those kinds of messages are now removed before viewing as BEYING INAPPROPRIATE OR OFFENSIVE OR GRAPHIC. Don’t accept friendship requests just to have many FRIENDS and don’t be too gullible is a good rule....
When the money runs out one of several things happens: 1.The scammers send the victim an e-mail "from a friend" saying the boyfriend is dead. 2. They invite the victim into a money laundering or reshipping scheme where the victim receives merchandise bought with stolen credit card numbers and sends it somewhere else, often to a foreign country. The victim is eventually arrested, sent to jail or prison, and comes out homeless and jobless. 3.The scammer simply disappears. You can see these stories time and time again on talk shows and news documentaries. Also online.
I've been spotting them for years. Some of them are ridiculously careless. One recently had, unusual for a scammer, a long list of their actual friends. Funny that a guy who is supposed to be American, American name, location, job, yet every one of his friends was from Africa, with ethnic names, and appearance. Idiot. They're really easy to spot on dating sites. Always widowed, non smokers, Christian, somewhere long distance but within the states. The profile statements are flowery, full of promises of love and fidelity, but either a copy and paste job with errors like exact repetition, or poor spelling and grammar. An American engineer is probably not going to misspell engineer, like "engeer", a counselor, "counsler". Red flags are easy to spot if you just take off the blinders.
I saw an attractive woman working for "United State Amry" 🙄🙄🙄🙄 the name on her uniform didn't even match the user name. Scammers don't have a three digit IQ so to speak
I've learned that they always call you Baby, Babe, Honey, Sweetheart because they are most likely scamming more than one victim and by calling you Baby, it avoids calling someone by the wrong name. If you can't video chat, say, bye bye. Also, there's a victim who did actually video chat with the man in the picture and he ended up working as a third party for a scammer and she too got duped and out of a lot of money. So if you can't date a person in person , get a cat or a dog, at least a dog will love you unconditionally.
The statement that Facebook wants yot to report them made me laugh. I reported these scammers multiple times, and the only reply I got from Facebook was that they "did not violate our community standards." Facebook is a joke, and a huge platform for scam on international scale.
Exactly. Facebook does nothing to these people. I've received friend requests from the South African president and the minister of finance. People are so gullible. They were getting so excited to be getting friend request from their president. Later I saw other women complaining about the 'president' wanting nude pics. As for the 'minister of finance', he had some investment scheme he wanted to involve me in.
Best comment ever, people are so desperate to have someone these days instead of going after their goals and gettng financial stable or their mental health in check. Bee single for 8 years now , i talk with some guys as friends , thats it , no going out and mingling , people today are scary and bold face liars. Stay single until you find your soulmate
I'm an elderly woman & I love messing with the many telemarketer calls i get. So I'd probably ACT like I was sending them money, & saying " you didn't get it yet ?" I'll try again tomorrow..." What ?! You STILL didn't get it ?" ....ect...ect... Until I het tired of the game... But I don't fall for those friend request from men telling me Joe beautiful & stunning I look... I have MIRRORS in my house & I know what I look like & I know how old I am...I'd just make a fool out of them...it'd be fun.
It's all so easy to see through. Amazing how anyone falls for this stuff. When they say they're overseas and want money, that's the end where I say, good-bye scammer.
Deborah Lowe I'm a bit astonished really. You're a good looking woman so you probably get a lot of attention. Why did their attention in specific appeal to you?
When I was online dating app , atleast ten of them said they are raising a child alone . Finally one of the last ones that messaged me , I said let me guess you are raising your child alone cause your wife was in a car accident he got so mad lol
Hahaha god I hated online dating. There was one on POF and his bio was this sob story about his wife died and he’s looking for a woman because his young lad dean needs some motherly love at his tender age. Then ended this whole thing with “and stop asking for nudes because I won’t!! But if you want to sexy talk that might be okay”
I am a huge fan of KISS. Once on Instagram Paul Stanley texted me back saying he needed a favor that his manager couldn't know about. Then he asked for money. After I stopped laughing I blocked that catfish!
I have been scammed alot. I wasn't aware about catfishing. Someone told me to checkout UTube for catfishing scammers video. I'm livid right now. I feel so stupid. Thank you for opening my eyes. Thank you for the information. I have had an education now.
Don't ever send money to people online. No matter what kind of sob story they tell you. They will leave you broke and homeless and move on to the next woman.🙋♂️
Very true,i have in this situation, that person who begged for money to me,his story was my friend and wife died in aircrash accident, whivh left a small daughter of 7 yrs of age in ghana.he really must go to to gghana from france to secure this little girl, then he was quiet for couple of days, he was supposed to be in ghana and met this girl which was at an aunt and the au d was on drug s etc etc,i was listening by now i was awake and was playing the game.somehow the next day he explained to me the situation.(his friends left thiers daughter on their will to hi. and of course their business to a big business.but he needed €2500 to sort out some paper work and to take this girl with him to where he came from in france, and his bank in france is not giving hin access to his money,i yold him i don't have any money and told him i work in the morning to have some food at dinner time,he ask me to ask my friend.i told him my friend does not work.then he was very slow to keep in touch.and by sunday that wèk i told him who he was and how he used other people pics to dig money our of women.and tell him that i work for the police federal and i will get him soon or later.and the message went to a full stop.
Anyone you meet online or face to face who asks for money is also telling you they are a piece of shite. Turn the situation around and start dangling your cash, waste their time.
Thank you for that news I really appreciate it, because I'm a victim of scammers also I thought I new everything about dating people on dating site! !!
I have to admit, my first thought was, "That's some 80's hair." However, I see a lot of people hanging onto hairstyles they had decades ago. Some people do not like change.
I’ve been catfished. Once yesterday to be exact. The only reason I accepted the DM was because I was intrigued. Now next time I wish to accept someone, I’ll look up their photo first.
I can see tons on facebook....roses and hardly any friends...just about 10...They have pictures of roses...and candles and about 3 pics of "a person" they claim is them...then they "hey baby" you all the time..ALL THE TIME> report them..
Ridiculous. I will never ever give money to anyone that I have never met or for a good reason. Find your partner close to where you live, get to know them, but never give them money. Donate your money if you do not know what to do with your money. Fed the poor.
I just experienced someone trying to scam me supposedly he was a military surgeon stationed in Afghanistan i asked him if he performed any surgeries he said he didn't do surgery he just prescribe medical but in another message he said he he does reconstruction surgery he told me he's into God im starting with fall in love and me he said not to talk to anybody else in the military he had a daughter in Africa and could I buy her a iPhone 6 or 7 he said he couldn't send money or gifts to his daughter I told him I don't have any money to do that I told him I was gonna sell my house he wouldn't stop asking me if I sold it yet he would call me his love little did he know my cousin husband is in the military as well i asked my cousin if he's allowed to send money to his family and receive stuff as well so I mentioned that to him he didn't know what to say about it so i blocked him from Facebook i get this other guy claiming that he's stationed at the same place the other guy said i asked me why did I block his friend i said because something doesn't feel right so i messaged the catfish person on hangout app and confronted him and told him not to contact me anymore then I started getting other military men trying to friend me on Facebook im glad im not stupid also was thinking how did he find me on Facebook he didn't even know my name to even look for me on Facebook i shut that bs right down and took the hangout app down so he could not contact me anymore I also put a privacy thing on my profile only people who know me can contact them on Facebook
They call you dear Will say "am from the state" "Am military surgeon doctor" Ask yourself: Do real people talk that way? If they say they're military, ask them if they went through their basic training at Ft. Gordon New Jersey or Ft. Dix in Georgia. Ft. Dix is in New Jersey and Ft. Gordon is in Georgia. But a Nigerian scammer isn't going to know that. That's how you KNOW They're scamming you. Or when they say they're from Dallas, ask them " Isn't that 90 mes from Seattle?" A scammer will say, "yes, dear"
What needs to be done is there needs to be major regulation in online dating. You should not be allowed to post a profile unless it's a verifiable profile. At this point I think places like the division of motor vehicles or dating agencies in physical building help you build a profile for a fee and then build your presence. Profiles from other other countries will have to follow the same rules and regulations. The dating websites need to follow these regulations and not allow un verified profiles on their site. Scammers have completely turned online dating into a cesspool. The other thing is we need is to encourage dating and marriage at a younger age. We need to realize that feminism and extreme liberalism have destroyed dating between the sexes. MGTOW is not the direct cause of lower marriage rates and birth rates, but the acknowledgment of how society has become so misandric against men. This is in turn is causing men not wanting to date or get married. Women have a lower SMV value when they get older so the best thing they can do is to get married younger and hold onto that man for dear life. The real enemy of women is not the patriarchy but feminism. It's the most naturally thing for men to love women. Of course if women are going only for the top 10 percent of men don't expect loyalty from that top 10 percent or rather 2 percent of men. We all both men and women need to work out more, eat healthy and get in better shape. Big is not beautiful it's simply just big. If you go to a gym and your big and workout no one will judge you harshly or they really shouldn't. Making an effort, walking into the gym trying to get in better shape is very commendable or simply taking a walk, riding a bike, go swimming, running, dancing or whatever that makes you happy and you burn the calories in the process. These scammers are going to be with us for quite a while until there is better legislation or we watch out for their tactics better. The scammers will get better but we need to starve them of the oppurtunity to scam us. Our US government and allies need to work to track down and stop the scammers but they also need to work with the governments to stop the reasons these scammers are doing these criminal actions. Lastly we need to pray more.
Been approached several times on Facebook only once requested to intercept a lock box supposedly filled with money. I didn't of course then I called him out for his schemes dnt of.course
i don't know how they can steal peoples money and sleep comfortable with that on their mind simply because they want to live high and dry and not work . they dont care about people's feelings time will tell their fate
I’m a freelance journalist and I did something similar to this... but my profile was a thirteen year old girl and goodness it was such a violating experience to read messages from over fifty grown men (that’s how many were straight up about their ages) saying that they wanted to marry and have sex with the girl in the profile. That kind of undercover is no joke!
I just watched another video about romance scammers with comments disabled, so I'll comment here instead. What I really wonder is how people don't seem to have an ear for accents and grammar. There was a Texan with a Dutch-sounding name and his voice messages were from a whole other continent. Open your EARS people. The syntax is totally different.
Not only that but some scammers will make a short personalized video using someone else's video but they change the words. So the mouth movements don't even match the audio. I saw an interview with the man who received the video and it was proved to him that the video was fake and the person was someone else. This guy is still waiting for this woman to visit him. It's puzzling how the facts don't matter to some people.
It's a lie facebook works to take down these profiles. My uncle passed away in 2016. His facebook remained online and somehow someone hacked into it (which I know happens a lot) someone claiming to be Bebe Winans totally revamped my uncle's FB profile. Photos were deleted and most information was changed (interestingly not his birthplace and Bebe winans wasn't from our town) friends were added. When family tried to communicate with this scammer they were blocked. Several of us reported this to facebook and nothing was done. We got the standard reply, "thank you for reporting this to us. We understand why you might thing this was offensive.... but it doesn't go against facebook rules" We had to contact Bebe's people ourselves before the profile was taken down. Facebook needs to change they are so troll friendly.
You can report these profiles on fb but i can guarantee that you'll get a msg back from fb saying something like,, they didn't violate any terms.. Reporting to fb is a waste of time.. Just block and deny any new friend requests from people you don't know irl..
actually i wish i get hired to catch scammers on the sites and i think i could be good at that since i don t even need to search them cos they find me like 5 of them per day.I think i would like a job like that full time.....anyone is hireing?
I was scammed on more than four occation before I hired the service of a Hacker who can track down the scammer on my facebook account and turn him into the Fbi department. Contact Albertgonzalez204@gmail.com a russian Hacker for any social media hack
But truly there are a lot of scammer on the air, but also there are so many single guys who are looking for someone to date, but these women prefer fake because they are looking for a flashing and fake people who will scam them I feel pity for them, look for some one who will be there for you please, in paint and in happiness original photo with video chat.

The first clue that you are dealing with a scammer: they are A LOT better looking than you!
Truth!!!
Ages ago I was on a dating site and basically she said she was in America when she was in Nigeria
She’s attractive though
If I may add another red flag, a lot of those scammers will claim to be working as engineers for some offshore drilling site.
Exactly
One of them uses name Jamie Smith. Says he works in Belgium for Odex Oil and Gas
Michael Findlay Malaysia Petronas Petrochemical Engineer
@@tonyaanderson311 lol, I'm from Malaysia and have never meet a guy working at petronas oil rigs 😆

Very true,i have in this situation, that person who begged for money to me,his story was my friend and wife died in aircrash accident, whivh left a small daughter of 7 yrs of age in ghana.he really must go to to gghana from france to secure this little girl, then he was quiet for couple of days, he was supposed to be in ghana and met this girl which was at an aunt and the au d was on drug s etc etc,i was listening by now i was awake and was playing the game.somehow the next day he explained to me the situation.(his friends left thiers daughter on their will to hi. and of course their business to a big business.but he needed €2500 to sort out some paper work and to take this girl with him to where he came from in france, and his bank in france is not giving hin access to his money,i yold him i don't have any money and told him i work in the morning to have some food at dinner time,he ask me to ask my friend.i told him my friend does not work.then he was very slow to keep in touch.and by sunday that wèk i told him who he was and how he used other people pics to dig money our of women.and tell him that i work for the police federal and i will get him soon or later.and the message went to a full stop.
omfg 2:06 this lady's hair is insane 😂😭
Anyone you meet online or face to face who asks for money is also telling you they are a piece of shite. Turn the situation around and start dangling your cash, waste their time.
Catfish = Bottom Feeders = Scuzzballs
Thank you for that news I really appreciate it, because I'm a victim of scammers also I thought I new everything about dating people on dating site! !!
They are not only on dating sites. I thought that as well
Stop these people
thank you
If an agency can be call to investigate your catfish before sending money ,it will be very profitable .
What she should be fed up with is that 80's hair style of hers....
Noot Don’t be catty.
I have to admit, my first thought was, "That's some 80's hair." However, I see a lot of people hanging onto hairstyles they had decades ago. Some people do not like change.
Lmaooo Sooo true though!!
Tomato Pudding Sometimes when you find something that works you just go with it. And clearly the men like it because they keep contacting her...
That's what I said, some people don't like change. However, those men do not care about her hair. They care about her $$$$$.
I’ve been catfished. Once yesterday to be exact. The only reason I accepted the DM was because I was intrigued. Now next time I wish to accept someone, I’ll look up their photo first.
Reeling you in. You become the fish on the line. After three days fish are thrown out!!!
I can see tons on facebook....roses and hardly any friends...just about 10...They have pictures of roses...and candles and about 3 pics of "a person" they claim is them...then they "hey baby" you all the time..ALL THE TIME> report them..
Good for you girl!!! You are beautiful!
How is this a skill? I'd never fall for something like this because it's too obvious
Ridiculous.
I will never ever give money to anyone that I have never met or for a good reason.
Find your partner close to where you live, get to know them, but never give them money.
Donate your money if you do not know what to do with your money.
Fed the poor.
So she gave out her adres to some stranger, very smart
C S No, she probably had it on her fb profile
@
Rachel Garber
That is real smart too
I was hoping to hear how she "turned the table on scammers".....
1983 called they want their hairstyle back
80s called they want that hair back 👍
Smart lady
The intermittent narration is driving me nuts!
elitadream Thank youuuuuuu!!!
Awesome, beneficial...
They call you dear
Will say "am from the state"
"Am military surgeon doctor"
Ask yourself: Do real people talk that way?
If they say they're military, ask them if they went through their basic training at Ft. Gordon New Jersey or Ft. Dix in Georgia.
Ft. Dix is in New Jersey and Ft. Gordon is in Georgia. But a Nigerian scammer isn't going to know that.
That's how you KNOW They're scamming you.
Or when they say they're from Dallas, ask them " Isn't that 90 mes from Seattle?"
A scammer will say, "yes, dear"
I've reported so many of these profiles to Facebook. They remove maybe every fourth of them, if that...
Smart lady!
Set your profile page to private.
Facebook say they want them down but it never happen. Doesn't violates there standard. So they stay online
Who would use the stupid alias of "Brown Ralph"?
Bigger question: who would be dumb enough to believe that alias??
A selfie with a finger pointed to today's date on a calendar or local newspaper, would prove they are real. But still maybe a scammer
Author Tolu2, " There are more laws and longer to protect animals than females." (C) Author Tolu2
Been approached several times on Facebook only once requested to intercept a lock box supposedly filled with money. I didn't of course then I called him out for his schemes
dnt of.course
Those dudes look like serial killer scammers. Yikes.
i don't know how they can steal peoples money and sleep comfortable with that on their mind simply because they want to live high and dry and not work . they dont care about people's feelings time will tell their fate
Yeh but wouldn't it be nice to be there when karma arrives ;)
People like that don't care about other people
I like how she's on a computer but uses a physical notepad. lol
Brown Ralph? Who would think that was a real name?
Dont blame only this younger men,u should blame ur selves falling for a man under ur age
Yep roses u paid for.... after thousands of dollars u sent u are happy to buy it
Yes tru. Their accent doesn't go along with their profiles. They have stolen profiles of truly gentlemen.
Hello
I’m a freelance journalist and I did something similar to this... but my profile was a thirteen year old girl and goodness it was such a violating experience to read messages from over fifty grown men (that’s how many were straight up about their ages) saying that they wanted to marry and have sex with the girl in the profile. That kind of undercover is no joke!
Watch To Catch a Predator and you'll find that there are an amazing amount of men whose ideal is a 13-year-old girl or boy.
This lady wants to talk to the manager
Yes, they don't know who they're dealing with.
I think you should take on quilting club instead of dating. Leave the stinking many catfish in the ocean.
Well done. How do you do it?
Lol.. what is scammer
yup i get loads of those friend requests and msgs and i also use tineye
They stolen pictures from Facebook scary
They are all over yucky.
Hello .. I think I have been scammed .i already checked in tineye and I couldn't find anything .can some one help me??
Just block and deny any new friend requests from people you don't know irl..
yep had FB tell me that one many
FB does nothing.
actually i wish i get hired to catch scammers on the sites and i think i could be good at that since i don t even need to search them cos they find me like 5 of them per day.I think i would like a job like that full time.....anyone is hireing?
