Correction: 2022 Razr is currently going for $969 which is a lot more attractive than the $1100 I personally paid closer to release in China. Check it out here if you're interested: www.giztop.com/moto-razr-2022.html

Motorola has been turning into the new OnePlus we needed back here in India after OnePlus themselves went premium. Clean, fast UI, affordable and competitive pricing, Innovative technology, relatively poor cameras (even matched OnePlus in that regard 😁) and just being the underrated underdog with almost a cult following. Love these new generation phones.

Wow, super positive overview! I'm finally leaving the Nexus/Pixel devices after Nexus S, Nexus 4, Nexus 6P and a Pixel 2. Was tracking the Razr 2022 for a while and finally bit the bullet on an order. On the UK store they have 20% off care plans, and 10% off the device if you sign up for the newsletter.
I'm really excited to no longer have a rectangular slab taking up my pockets. My main concern is leaving behind Pixel's camera app and software. Even on my current Pixel 2 I'm still impressed by the photos.
I guess let's see if the people out there make a hack-version of the Pixel Camera app for this phone.
I do agree with Mr. Mobile's review in that this is in no way a "Razr" - they should have called it something else.
And yeah, while I can't wait to use the cover screen for stuff, and that is the main feature that made me go for this over Samsung's Flip, it does look a _bit_ weird with the bezel frame.
I just hope in the future we can get a "flippable phone" _WITH_ a telephoto lens. That's one feature I'm sad to miss out on vs the Pixel 7 Pro, for example.

I have the 2020 Motorola edge Plus. After a very frustrating start to a new flagship phone as I went through four versions of the Motorola edge Plus due to double lines, color blotches You name it I had it. Four phones.
Let me give a shout out to Verizon who stood by me every step of the way while both of us were getting frustrated. Verizon didn't make the phone they replaced the phone every time. Solid company.(later I heard they dropped The Motorola edge Plus due to so many problems)
Anyways, I'm starting to get some gremlins in my phone such as difficulty charging via the port, RUclips videos being on silent and having a restart the phone and just a lot of little things. Might be time for a new phone. Although I swore off Motorola It looks like the company is making strides to make a better phone and this phone is an example.
I might wait for the 2023 foldable and see where it leads us.

Such an improvement from it's predecessor. I'm interested in this phone but curious to see if has a big jump to the next generation of razor.

Yes, foldable‘s have creases. They become more prominent the more you use the phone. As for the opening Samsung has some thing called flex mode where you can have open halfway and it won’t close on You try doing that with the razor and it will shut or open every time.

My only gripe is these newer flip phones don't accept SD cards. That's where I keep my photos and videos.

It’s a cool idea but why would you need to fold your phone? I think it would be easier to just leave it open. Also, the crease is still way to noticeable

The samsung doesn't flip that fast when opening but the advantage is you can make use of that mechanism when you have no tripod. You have more control of camera angles.

I like it a lot more than the Flip 4. I do wonder will the crease get more significant over time as you open and close it so many times.

@@gurillaglue-4113 they could do it I feel like they purposely drag things out to make minor improvements feel like upgrades. Samsung does a better job than iPhone with giving us new stuff but both power players hold back/ take away stuff when they shouldn't

So, other than the novelty of folding, is there any real advantage to this phone being able to fold? Other foldable phones at least unfold to larger displays. This just unfolds to a pretty standard display. It also seems a lot thicker folded, so kind of annoying to carry in a pocket. Also, $1000 seems a bit pricey for a gimmick.

Is the inside display made of Ultra thin glass or is it plastic like the previous Razr? I hope it’s not UTG as that has been super unreliable on previous flips for myself.
