I bought this phone two months ago and I like it so much more than my Samsung A53 slab phone. Unfortunately I damaged the screen a couple of weeks ago and had to send it to Ft Worth, TX, for repair. Motorola treated me very well, with no hassles or big bills, they just replaced the screen and mailed it back to me at no charge. My experience with contacting them was simple, too. I have other fast chargers, but the phone recognizes this one differently in that it lights up a unique "Turbo charge" logo on the display.

Got mine yesterday on a special for 300 dollars. Really great deal and very nostalgic experience takes me back to when razor owned the cell phone market
Have had my sage green Razr 2023 for months now and absolutely love it. No bugs encountered, main display is fantastic, I don't mind the small external display at all. I actually prefer it to the Plus' large display that looks like it would be very vulnerable to damage from dropping the Plus. The photos/videos of the Razr 2023 are fine for me. Call quality is also very good. One can get the Razr 2023 for as little as $199.99 from MVNOs such as Cricket Wireless and Boost Mobile. Boost Mobile's network coverage and quality has improved *dramatically* to what it was before.

Once the technology improves which makes sense moe that I look at why their slow to implement features they focus on refinement of the experience instead of the newest features that break the phone 😂
My main concern is battery. My current phone has a 5200mAh battery and can do almost 48 hours of light use, or easily survive a 10 hour shift of streaming music over wifi to bluetooth buds. I don't often have access to a plug at work, so I'm just concerned a drop in capacity would be a huge loss of convenience for me. So basically I'm torn between the form factor of a folding phone (alliteration) and the bigger battery in the Moto G power.
I've had one for about 6 weeks. I also have a Samsung S23. I paid £480 for the Razr 40 and I think it's a brilliant phone for that price. The cameras are surprisingly good and with two recent camera updates I getting better results with my Motorola. The post processing of JPEGs is surprisingly good, especially in low light.
I love my phone, I really like how the crease fold feels on my thumb when I scroll. I wish they had the hyptic vibrate function on the crease when u scroll 😅
I have the Plus and in my opinion it's the best foldable phone anyone has made yet. The cover screen is so functional that there are entire days I to without flipping it once. I highly recommend paying the extra for the flagship plus model.
I haven't seen such a pleasant to watch review in a while! You're style is very satisfying, with great points followed by concise explanations. I really mean this since I pretty much never comment :)
My Razr only lasted couple months. I do cut grass and think the dust killed it. Sent it back and we'll see if they fix it. Would like a better cover on the outside fold for dust.
I currently have a Moto G Power (2121 version) that I like except for when I'm riding my e-bike. I don't trust handlebar phone holders yet, so the phone is in my front pocket. Some of my pants have rather short and scary front pockets and makes my Moto frighten. The Razr 40 is looking like a dream come true for me.
I personaly don't take many videos on my s20fe...but i like to have a prety good camers for the rare moments when i actualy have a use for it. So the razr 40 looks promisong but i need to feel one in my hands and use it for some time to see before i make such a choise. The only foldables i touched were from samsung, a few folds and one or 2 flips and the feel was amazing. Plus a goodish camera. I can imagine the feel of razr40 to be somewhat similar. And i find useful the small screen on the exterior of the clam, realy usefull plus you dont realy need to open it up all day just to check on a notification. Thank you for the in depth review, very useful. I will consider this phone,, or Razr in general
After 4 months of use as my main phone, all i can say is... it's actually pretty damn cool i haven't had any issue with it nor the screen. In case of any issue i'll come back.
Best part about the motorola phone are the motions for the flashlight and camera! There is a dead pixel on the phone after a few months of using it, but it's not a problem.
I love the Motorola Razr 2023 that I have. Only issue I am having though is that I've only had between 2-3 months and sometimes when I close it, hit the power button, or like yesterday, just have it open, it shuts down completely. Sometimes it doesn't come back when I hold the power button, sometimes it does. I believe it's a software issue, any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated because I really do not want another phone. Especially since I'm still financing it as well. Thank you.

No insurance purchased. Great phone except for glass cover.
Please let us know how you're doing with it in a few days or a week, please, if you don't mind? I'm with Cricket and thinking of buying one also and would really appreciate some feedback.
@stacyanderson1593 I got mine through metro. It's a pretty good phone so far. I'm still a bit paranoid about the screen cracking somewhere down the line. You can't have it near credit cards. The magnets inside will de-magnetize them. Temperature affects the rating of how many times it can fold. Too cold or hot, and you will eventually get stress cracks. Nothing lasts forever, but just be aware outside weather will shorten your time with your device. It's not IP68, but I don't think that matters, seeing as the zflips and folds are only rated for lab water. They, too, are susceptible to water damage from everyday use. The Ingress 5 rating surpasses a few of samsungs devices. So dust protection is superb. Other than the aforementioned, I've had a good time with the device. It's definitely something a casual phone user would love. Also, that 144hz with the big ass display is just lovely to look at. It has "Ready For" which is Motorola's answer to samsung's DeX, if you use that. It's light as hell and fits good in any pocket. Just be aware there aren't too many cases available for it at the moment. The ones available besides moto are 3rd party and don't offer hinge protection. I found one on Amazon that does. It held up pretty good. Lmk if you want info to purchase that. The processor is pretty good, no lag in gaming. Apps and all run smoothly. The average user wouldn't give af about the gen 7 chipset. Other than the fact that it causes the top end of the phone to heat up when multitasking. But hey all processors have to blow off some steam. Video playback is crisp AF. Oh, I forgot to mention that if you care about samsungs eco system, I'd stay there. The little things with software will bug you. No pun intended. For instance, when using the pin unlock method, it makes you press enter after putting in your pin. No auto enter. It's just slight things I miss coming from samsung to moto but they aren't necessarily deal breakers at the moment. I do suggest checking out the S23 FE if your looking for flagship specs with a decent price. Both cricket and metro carry it.
@@stacyanderson1593almost forgot. Get insurance for sure on it. If you trust moto go with theirs but I'd say get a 3rd party company. Motorola isn't as laxed as Samsung with their warranty. It doesn't cover the screen whatsoever. Even if it's not your fault. You will have to fight them tooth and nail to fix your device. I'm guessing because Samsung most likely made the screens and moto bought them second hand they can't afford or bother to cover a warranty on another company's product. Ya know, typical cheapskate billionaire stuff. Hope I helped!
I was pretty lucky, got mine for 200$ from my carrier cause I started a new line, and canceled the line the next day 😂😅. I will say I've had mine about 6 months and the hinge is still very great no noise but the hinge has loosened a bit but not much
The paradigm is the "fixed blade" knife vs the folding knife. The fixed blade knife will ALWAYS be stronger. The hinge or pivot on anything is always the weak spot.
I really like the idea of this phone . I have an iPhone and just hate how much it costs just to have an iPhone with the damn “storage fee and music fee and blah blah blah” like it’s annoying . But this phone just looks amazing
I like this model since it has the small screen outside and I don't have to stare at a screen all day. However the current 2024 non-plus model went on to place a screen outside, following the current trend...
I only use my phone as a phone and an occasional camera. My tablet covers everything else. I prefer Samsung because I have never had a bad experience with their products. My S4 wasn't retired until the S10 was replaced.
Yoooooo with the OSRS app! Lets gooooooooo ROAD TO MAX CAPEEEEEE! XD Great review, man! Would you recommend the + version of this or the Samsung variant?
I love these next generation flip phones, and have no idea why they're not dominating the market. The Sumsung one is great as well. I think it's because people look too much at benchmarking, and think "ooh I'm losing 2MP on the camera, and 1gb of ram". But seriously, maybe .1% of the population is going to notice this, in day to day use
It’s because no one has confidence in the longevity of these devices. An LCD or LED screen on a phone folding is something that still feels like it shouldn’t happen for most people. Also the first gen of folding phones did not last long at all with the crease getting gunked up quickly and making the crease huge over time.
@@spht9ng to be fair, the Iphone 14 and 15 pro max are almost bullet proof😂 I have the 14, and don't use a case, and have dropped it many times, and it's still absolutely flawless. Not even a graze
@@maipantoon7823 iPhones are generally well built. Same with many other flagship android phones but the folding phones make me skeptical. I would think Samsung wouldn’t put out the first Fold or Flip without making sure the phone can last reasonably long and not crap out after a few months. But it seems that was NOT the case so It makes it hard for me to trust these manufacturers that they’ll make sure the product is solid before selling it instead of pushing the cool looking phone even if it’s not ready
Still thinking whether to get it too just to try out the flippable phones but I want the 2024 version with a larger front display! But it's more than twice the price yikes

It's not going to last long flipping it open like that?
I was pretty lucky, got mine for 200$ from my carrier cause I started a new line, and canceled the line the next day 😂😅. I will say I've had mine about 6 months and the hinge is still very great no noise but the hinge has loosened a bit but not much
You're lying with the runescape 😂 auto subbed
Metro have these now for $99 if you transfer your number over to them, $199 for existing customers which is still a good deal
Traded my old pixel and got this for a whopping 30 bucks. Im excited to have a foldable again
While the rubbery grip is nice, I wonder how it will hold up in a few years. Will it turn sticky like some other rubberized plastics?
I got mine with Cricket for $350 with a case.
yup $348 I just love this phone. this phone is a natural 💪 flex
Cricket?
@@AdithJai yeah in Usa
The Coach edition is 149 now on boost mobile, very tempted for that price.
Just bought it today at a Xfinity Mobile store with special price $200 bucks.
Does this phone have any biometrics?
Is the plus better?
Salunga Landisville on the weather app? Hell yeah, I used to live in Mt. Joy!
How do they not break when closing
Love it!
Does this model have the classic theme/ t9 keyboard like the 2019 version 1 did?
Gotta love how whipping phones open in the early 2000s was a no no, and now when they cost so much more, ppl still be whipping them.
You could use the phone unfolded for phone (audio) conversations?
Absolutely yes
Can you make and receive calls on the outer screen?
I got mine on prime day for $320! That’s insane!
Still thinking whether to get it too just to try out the flippable phones but I want the 2024 version with a larger front display! But it's more than twice the price yikes
One of the best phones ive had in a while.
If youre thinking of buying this iust do it !❤ Phone is incredible Motorola did a great job on this masterpiece
Same got it for $250. Waiting it to be unlocked. Truly a fun phone. I don't think I'll use it as my main phone due to storage....too many apps
The only problem im having is it won't wireless charge is there a setting im missing???
