Hi Kyle nice review I used the ms 251 c a lot for cutting trees hard wood and soft wood it gets the job done just grate one of the best all around saws I found yet
My ms251c has been a great saw. I use it several times a year for storm cleanup around our property and have taken care of some decent size trees with it. Mine had the easy side tensioner but i recently converted it to a standard tensioner thay uses the scrench. The easy tensioner would loosen on its own some times and dealing with the rachet mech while putting on the bar was a hassle. Just picked up a ms400 and a farmmac f380 to mess around with since i have some larger trees that i have to remove.
Hello friend can you also cut oak or hard wood with this? They do give a one year warranty on it. Also some of the trees down on property after Helene storm could be wider than 14 inches at the base. Can they cut wider trees was you go down to the base? Thanks friend.
@@tuberocker69 the one on my blower is shot but the one on my trimmer words great. As we speak I'm having the Stihl dealer convert mine back to regular pull start on the blower
Hey Kyle, Just saw this vid. I have been binge watching a bunch. I am collecting all the safety gear, just ordered a jawhorse and deliberating on whether to buy 2 170's or not. Oddly enough I have the the 251c for work around the property. My question is could I use this saw for blocking or should I bite the bullet and get 2 170s ....one for blocking (stock) and the other with a dime tip?
Hey kyle, Good review. im looking to get a chainsaw that can handle a 24 inch bar? How many ccs would i need to handle a bar that size in your opinion?
The 251 pulls an 18"-20" chain with ease. Unfortunately this is about as big as the homeowner saws go. Beyond that you're looking at the 261 approaching 2x the price.
Am a novice, bought the 250 and had trouble starting, returned and bought 251c, it is like night and day! You don’t lose an arm starting the saw!

I have the 251 and its a great all around saw! Light enough for limbing and light work but has the grunt to fell good size trees.

Because this one is too small
That easy start is nice till that spring starts messing up. And you dont need to make saw dust make wood chips jk

Block with the 251 and if you can get a 170 and set it up for detail work
Thanks Kyle! Onward!
ms362 or ms400

To be pine. Looks like you’re chain is really dull
