  • All this wildlife activity occurred in just 21 days last October near the end of a long beaver dam! The otters, in particular, wanted to put on a show…and we all know folks LOVE otters...
    Anyway, this beaver dam was a new spot for us this fall. We had noted that Wolf Y1T, the breeding male of the Blood Moon Pack seemed to cross this beaver dam a few times so we decided to give it a try.
    Sure enough, we captured Y1T crossing this dam with his two pups in tow. We do not think these two pups survived as all observations of Y1T since late fall have been just him and his mate.
    We did keep this camera on the dam though as it seems like a good spot and we aren’t gonna complain if the otters want to show off a bit for everyone!

    Is that a fisher at 0:37 ?

      Marten maybe? It looks smaller than a fisher, but I don't know for sure.

      I think so ; Stone martens and pine martens have white patches on the front of their front legs and a clear plastron. The ferret's fur is all in shades of brown, like this animal at 0:37.

      @@Mary_Beth_ReimerI think it's a fisher, maybe a young one.

      No, it's an American marten/pine marten

      You only get a quick look, but I'm 99% sure it's a marten.

    Was the very first canid a wolf or coyote?

    • @Perroso_sovietico
      @Perroso_sovietico 2 месяца назад +1

      A coyote, coyotes have more triangular ears, and a more pointed snout, wolves have more oval and smaller ears, and a less pointed snout.
