I started using it in 2017 and so far it's been fine. But I have no way of knowing if somebody might have hacked my account and seen my mails. I trust it more than I trust anything Google, even RUclips itself.
Have been using it since it came out in 2013 after I returned from living in the forever monitored Beijing. It's an awesome service. Now I have my photos being saved from my phone on Proton Drive so will soon no longer need extra storage from Apple.
It's better if an "average" don't know about it. Much more secure and if it becomes popular/mainstream it'll become just like Gmail that it oppose to be.
You can port all your emails from gmail to proton mail with their easy switch feature. So if you’re scared of losing all your emails when switching over, don’t be.
For me it just a pain to switch email address. I've been using gmail since it's inception and have a lot of accounts bind to it. Since all my emails are mostly just notifications and newsletters, I don't think switching is worth it. Another point is since almost all "free" services we use today collects data, it makes switching to more private one more pointless.
@@FloridaInvestor because its popular between them because its more private and you can just set up new ones without needing anything, also if you use the paid version you can make emails with your own domain and make multiple aliases which could be used for impersonation i guess. Thats what i think atleast dont know much about that sort of thing
This is wrong..... "End-to-End encrypted" is only possible if the if a ProtonMail user emails another ProtonMail user. It's not possible to ensure encryption on both ends if the recipient mail server is NOT on the same cryptography infrastructure as the sender... Gmail does this as well, again, only if both users are Gmail users... This guy should understand the technology involved if he's going to use encryption as a reason why one software is better than another.
Actually they don't have to use proton, just "industry standard" gpg encryption (which has been part of several email clients since the 2000s) Afaik Gmail & Outlook don't support it without extensions tho... (Gotta keep those moats...)

I just started using it because of this short
Same here!
I'm going to look into this.
Watch out, heard some others say in the free tier after some inactivity your mail just gets deleted

isnt it only end to end encrypted if you're emailing another proton mail address?
No, that is the case for Gmail but not for Proton mail, it's explained in their full video but not in this short

Glad that I know about it now, and got promoted to be an "above average person".
You don't have to pay for it though, the payment is only for benefits
I mainly use it to make email addresses for free cloud service

I left Gmail, for Proton Mail.
Did they use an AI for your voice in this? Also, the spelling is all off. Not the best produced video.

If you take one service at a time slowly and start with the most important ones, it's doable.
Cam you forward Gmail emails to Proton?
The reality is that Google owns adverts and the Search Engine.. It isn't popular because Google doesn't want it to be.
It feels illegal to be THIS early
Hmm gmail uses TLS?
alway shave heard negative associations between protonmail and scammers
How so?

The name is the problem.
I am a trend setter I have been using for a few yrs xD
yeahh i wouldnt pay for access to my email
It’s free upto 500mb but that’s too low for normal users like us
I tried. If I send a mail from proton mail to gmail then it will be sent to spam by gmail.
Proton mail gang stand up.
Email is generally not secure
