- A beautiful music for you from Inside Out the movie. Creators from Disney & Pixar.
Original main theme (soundtrack) here: • Video
Inside Out is now playing in theater since June 19th. Don't try to miss the great movie or it will shut down. Will be available soon on DVD.
this song is both sad and joyful at the same time. I cried watching this film. and no other films has succeeded that task.
+Kha Ngo You're right, the great thing about this theme is it being both sad and happy. The piano makes just a couple of chords but switches constantly between major and minor key, and major key is what, to put it simply, gives a song a happy mood, with minor key doing the opposite. I think Giacchino had this thing in mind already before composing and having just the script in his hands.
Oh, I cried too, just by listening to this, you can imagine how I was towards the end of the movie :D

Our son is ten years old, so he is only a year younger than Riley, and he is also an only child. He related to this movie so much that we all cried and laughed together. He related to the movie a lot because he is around her age and he is also an only child that has just moved, too. He could relate a lot to her emotions and he understood not only the sad parts, but the funny ones as well. AWESOME MOVIE for older kids who can relate.
AWWWWW that's adorable
ZAID- *AHEM!*
I’m 13 and I enjoyed this a lot. It made me realize a lot of things. I love this movie so much lol, just watched it on Disney +
This is the mother's account of the child responding and I can relate to that and I'm the only child but I'm 12 yrs old
Wait you watch movies as a family?
This might be just me and my imaginable self, but when I reflected on this movie, it strangely described my struggle with depression. Sadness and Joy just faded away so all I felt was anxiety, anger and disgust. But when they came back and I assembled a repair team, my emotions are slowly getting better at the controls.
Yeah. That's exactly it
I related to this so much. I hope your doing better and wish you the best❤️
@@jalyssa.angelina thank you so much 😊
Well the psychologist and other people intentionally worked together to get the core emotions (for depression, mania, overwhelming happiness)

the symbolism in this movie was absolutely genius, and it will forever rank up there as one of my favorite pixar movies of all time
I completely agree!
just realized that fear is dressed like the stereotypical "nerd" whos in constant fear of being bullied, disgust is just the typical fashion girl, sadness is like a depressed single mother with her sweater and stuff, anger is like a father whos working overtime in an office job, and joy is a girl in a dress with no cares in the world.
Pixar just puts so much care and detail into their movies. Everything ranging from the character design, the little minute details, the dialogue, the animation EVERYTHING. And this approach carried over to some of their recent films, Soul, and Luca. Can't wait to see what they'll make next.
Got the whole family out here

Inside Out 2 is one of the greatest films I have ever watched. And hearing this music again made me so nostalgic
I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels that way. Seeing it, I was thinking in real time, “this might just be the best movie I’ve ever seen!”

I like to think that certain more specific emotions are combinations, or "fusions" of these ones
Like, the fusion of Joy and Sadness is *Apathy/Indifference* because the two complete opposite emotions cancel each other out and create a general lack of feelings at the moment. This can range from a feeling of blissful calmness when Joy is dominant, or a feeling of utterly unstimulated boredom when Sadness is dominant. The fusion of Joy and Anger is *Passion* because it embodies the hot-blooded excitement you get from watching action movies or kicking ass, because you're both mad at the person you're beating up but also happy because you're showing somebody who's boss, showing off your toughness, giving somebody what they deserve, and in general, having a good time in a liberating sort of way. The fusion of Joy and Fear is *Thrill* because, well, think the feeling you get when you ride a rollercoaster. Yes, they scare you...But at the same time, you enjoy them and want more...Or how about the people who deliberately go to see horror movies they know they're afraid of? Maybe they _like_ getting scared...They love the emotional rush it gives them. Finally, the fusion of Joy and Disgust is *Curiosity* ...mostly, the morbid kind. A bit similar to thrill, this feeling is best summed up by Johnny Bravo's quote "I'm sicked, but curious." Like when you're staring at a trainwreck...It's disturbing, but you just can't look away...In a twisted sort of way, it interests you...You want to know more, despite your better judgment. It's more of a desire for knowledge than an enjoyment of an experience which is what separates it from Thrill.
Next, the fusion of Sadness and Anger is *Upsetness* . Both rage and gloom are the two most general negative emotions, with the former being a more upbeat version and the latter being more downplayed. So, mix them together and you get the broadest type of unhappy grouchy feeling a depressed grump would get. Kind of like what Disgust acts like when she's not grossed out by something...Anyway, the fusion of Sadness and Fear is *Dread* . A general pessimistic nervousness of what's to come, always expecting the worst and never looking forward to it, which both unnerves you with fear and dampens your mood with sadness. Definitely something cynics and defeatists are used to. Lastly, the fusion of Sadness and Disgust is *Disappointment* . In contrast to the last emotion, this one is ironically the result of optimism...Whenever it's misguided or turns out to be wrong. You're both sad that something didn't turn out to be nearly as good as you'd expected it to be, and disgusted by the complete failure.
Now, the fusion of Anger and Fear is a weird one which I can't think of a better name for than *Self-Defense* or *Threat-Perception* . Basically, it embodies the fight-or-flight response that fills a person when they think they're about to be physically attacked. Either fight back in fury or run away in terror. You could also think of a more pacifistic way, but that isn't nearly as ancient as the classic fight-or-flight method. And the fusion of Anger and Disgust is *Hatred* , the ultimate 'I-don't-like-this' feeling. Think someone who you absolutely hate. They disgust you with all their glaring flaws and whatever wrongs they've done, and this angers you to the point of wanting justice. You find them gross in a moral way, which brings out your ire.
Last but not least, the fusion of Fear and Disgust is *Shock* . Like discovering a mangled corpse as a child. On top of shattering your innocence, it utterly traumatizes you, in equal horror and repulsion at the carcas before you. A better example would be gross-out horror films like The Fly or The Thing. These movies scare you just as much as they revolt you...They _shock_ you.
I could go further with triple and quadruple fusions, but I think that'd take too long. You get the point, I think.
SPUTNIK. Dangggg bro that was deep
What school assignment was this for
@@jonaha2017 No shit, I actually had a school assignment about this in my Language Arts class.
Are you taking psychology by any chance?
I'm guessing Sadness and Anger would become Upset. Like you're sad at the thing you or someone have done but you're angry at it as well

I’m crying I miss my childhood no responsibilities just fun…
Watching it as a kid I thought of it as just any Other typical movie. I was too young to understand it's message. Watching it again as an adulting teen, And not only comprehending but also relating to everything that's happened inside this movie, it made me cry buckets. I realized that it was all about The bittersweet reality of accepting change and growing up. It also tells us that it's okay to be sad, angry or scared. You are allowed to feel all of these emotions. It is what makes you who you are.
Oh my god, When I heard this song I started crying so hard…. I remember I loved watching this as a kid and looking at this now… I remember all the happy emotions I was feeling back as a kid… and how I got all the bonus tapes and watched them on loop for hours. I remember watching this movie at least 20+ times. I Also remember a family member helping me with the TV before he passed away… This brought back so many memories and made me so emotional….
Wow this film really hits hard, I just rewatched it and It has messed me up. I really relate to it because I had the same experience with moving at the same age, seeing someone else experience nearly exactly the same thing really moved me.
I cried listening to this song. I grew up with this movie and remember watching it with my parents, my parents are now arguing almost everyday and planning on moving away from each other. All I can remember is this song watching the movie with my parents, them happy with each other, and me just young and happy.
Inside out always brings tears to my eyes it's so beautiful

The 3 emotions this gives me are sadness, joy, and nostalgia.
1:07 when the sad music starts :(
This song is one of them songs that just makes me think about life. Hell, when watching the scene where Riley goes to sleep for the first time in San Francisco, it made me cry her thinking bout old times I did too. This movie is one of the most touching movies I have ever watched.
This movie taught me that it's okay to be sad sometimes, that we need to embrace it, not ignore it. Because only by accepting that we are sad, we can move on from it and be happy. I love this soundtrack because it reminds me of that message each time I hear it.
this movie came out when i was eleven just like riley and about to move to san francisco from the east coast this movie had and still has such an emotional impact on me that i cry from just the theme :,)

I remember the times I cried on this song, only for this song
Oh man I'm tearing up already

Yeah, the Up theme is sad, but no theme gets me overwhelmed like this one.
I remember seeing this twice in theaters, and I look back on the memories, and it's just crazy to see how long ago that was.
Thank you, Michael Giacchino.
I was born in 2010 so I was 5 when the first inside out cane out. I’m 14 now and they made a sequel. Inside out has to be my favorite movie and dare I say the best Pixar movie. It’s scary how accurate and detailed inside sour really is and the sequel gave it a face lift. When my school did trick or truck for Halloween, my mom was sadness, my dad was anger, my aunt was disgust, there was no fear but we had a cut board of joy. And I was like a captain America or something. Inside out is truly an emotional movie (no pun intended). It just makes me cry every time I hear this song or watch the Og movie, it’s that good. If disney could, they should build a ride for inside out, and I bet all the kids would love and even the adults too because I did spit truly is a movie for all ages.
This move plays with emotions, when the young audience watches this move they think nothing of it,but when your older when it can out you understand what's happening in the move to the point where you hold in tears
The music is beautiful. It really brings back memories.
this song hits different when youre having a breakdown in the bathroom when everyone is sleeping just thinking about your life and all the happy and sad moments, your childhood especially, also thinking of hogwarts and harry potter and all the memories you could make there and how much happier you would be, i know this sounds like bs to a lot of people but harry potter is one of my only sources of happines and i feel such a strong connection to the wizarding world, this song really makes you feel all your emotions at once and it really makes you want to cry and never stop

Agreed! While most of Pixar's movies are great, only a few I feel deserve a sequel.
As much as I want this, I feel that Pixar can get even more sophisticated in the future. They did it with Soul, so they may outdo themselves yet again.
Disney has confirmed Inside Out 2 in June 2024! I’m so excited!

Lol sorry. I meant I am married and we have a teenage girl. She and Riley have much in common.
This movie has brought the line "play with emotions" to a whole other level...
one of pixars' finest works it made me cry like a baby
This theme reminds me of that one moment in the movie where Joy was sliding across the floor while trying to mirror Riley as she was skating. I really like this theme and the movie and I can't wait to see Inside Out 2!
this song hurts me so bad. i watched this at a young age, very young when it first came out and i didnt realize what it was about but i liked it so much. im a teen now and i relate with riley so much. i understand how she feels about her parents and this song makes me remember the memories when i was young and watched this as a kid.
I watched this in the movies when i was very little, now I'm graduating from highschool and I relistened to the soundtrack, I cried of nostalgia.
This reminds of the one person that i ever truly fell in love with we would sit on her couch and watch this and she would tell me all the parts that really meant something to her and i could listen to her stories all day.. but she left me for a better guy and had a kid with him.. she’s happy and that’s all that matters..

Fun fact: in the disney land organizators sometimes hire animators with the same mood as the character. Once a boy with autism came into the disney land ( he couldn't really talk ) the only way he could talk was with his hands. He met Joy. Animator could speak with the hands just like the boy. It was his first conversation in his whole life! He was very happy that day. Now he really miss this animator. This story is very heartwarming ❤️🔥

1:07 is just achingly beautiful....
This was my favourite movie as it just sparked imagination and fun into the world I never understood at the time. This tune makes me think back to when times were simpler, I didn’t have to worry about everything and dread the next day knowing I’ve got all these things to do. When relationships weren’t complicated, when I felt free. I miss the old days so damn much, but life goes on and there nothing we can do about it. I just wish the world would change
I'm gonna cry if this song is in the 2nd movie
Watched this movie during art class in middle school right before the summer holidays and today I watched the sequel with my mate. Loved it.
This song reminds me when I graduated from elementary school when I was 11 years old and now I'm 15 years old. Wow time flies
After watching Inside Out 2, this feels very nostalgic. Too close to home. I heard this when I was 9, now im almost turning 18. It felt happiness and sadness at the same time.

The recycled Straw holy crap i barely remember writing this comment. i once left a reply on a comment from about 10 years ago asking if they remembered writing it and they responded. now i can imagine just slightly how that feels
Frozen and Inside Out are both good to me, although I respect your opinion. :( What do you not understand about Frozen? It covers themes about loneliness and depression. Inside Out covers these themes too, along with growing up. They're both really good films.
i really like this theme. because it's happy, but it feels very fragile. its an anxious, fleeting joy that you can't feel safe with. it feels like childhood, innocence that is doomed to be taken away. like at any moment, you're going to be forced to reckon with reality. it's not super obvious or cheesy about it though. its not like those fake-happy horror movie tropes where the villain is smiling too widely and you immediately understand its supposed to be scary. its subtler than that. because it IS happy, but it feels like you just know this innocence won't last. its the music equivalent of when a character is like "you're my best friend! and we'll be best friends forever!"
the only film that made me cry
Born to have anger as my lead emotion, anger forever stays lead.

This film hits my emotions like honestly no other film does - it's like they worked out how to tap right in to my childhood feelings in my innermost core. Such joy and such sadness - literally. I can't watch this film or hear this song without welling up, but at the same time it's like being hugged when I was a baby -- waaaahhhh!
When I die I want this to be played in my funeral
Most people want some stupid songs to be played at theirs, wise choice man.

This song really captures emotions well, including joy, sadness, and nostalgia. This song makes you feel like you’re looking back on your good memories and the sad memories, it really does feel like that to me.
To me, it sounds like a memory. It represents a memory; pure, energetic, uplifting and imaginative.
Inside out was eye opening for me ... The FeaR of sadness and the desire to always be happy, In Joy, made me feel seen... It taught me to accept all my emotions as a part of me and recognise that it's a part of life. Now I allow myself to be sad, realising That these moments Of sorrow are what make happiness More precious...Knowing that i don't have to force myself to be happy all the time....Is liberating
This tune resemble to a similar tune of my childhood...man I am crying ....
I don't think it's physically possible to listen to this music without crying 🥲❤️
This movie made me appreciate the few moments of life we have. How everything can be happy, and then the next moment it can be sad. Life is something we have to just accept as it is… limited
I was a kid when I watched Inside Out. I rewatched it in 2019 and understood the message as a teen. Then Soul destroyed me.
I grew up with this movie. Never cried bec of another movie again… just this one. Same time, same song.
I listened to this and cried to this for the next 30 minutes
while I was searching for a sequel for Inside out, I found this:
Over the past few years, fans have complained that Pixar has become increasingly depended on sequels. That changed this year with two brand new, original films, one of which-Inside Out-was a runaway critical and financial hit. So, of course, now the sequel talks have begun.
The film’s co-writer and director, Pete Docter, was talking to Entertainment Weekly about the film’s multiple Oscar nominations and then dropped a few interesting thoughts on the potential of a
sequel:
We’ll see if anything turns up. To me, it’s not as simple as ‘We liked it, so let’s make another one.’ What happens is you design these characters not so much looks wise but as they are as a character and people for a story. So we’ll explore it and see what happens.
This is basically what Brad Bird and Andrew Stanton were saying for years about The Incredibles and Finding Nemo respectively. A sequel would come if there was an idea good enough. Eventually, there was.
What’s unique about Inside Out is if Docter and the Pixar team wanted to do a sequel, there really are no boundaries. The characters of The Incredibles, Finding Nemo or Monsters Inc., exist in a particular world, on a specific trajectory. They’re mortal. But the emotions of Inside Out are everyone’s emotions. They could continue on the first film’s narrative and carry on with the development of Riley, or the next film could go into anyone else’s brain. The character designs are all the same, as are the base personalities. Plus, they don’t age, so the possibilities are endless.
Still, those limitless possibilities could actually hurt the chances for a follow-up. Docter has been quoted as saying using the human mind as a set was almost too big of a canvas to play on. This is probably why he will only cop to “exploring” sequel ideas, nothing more.
It’s also worth nothing that Pixar’s announced slate is mostly sequels: Finding Dory, Cars 3, The Incredibles 2 and Toy Story 4. Only Coco, a film about the Day of the Dead, is an original concept. I’d expect a few more original ideas to come along before Inside Out 2-if only so that there’s more new material to make sequels to.
Now that I rewatched it, I realised how deep this movie was.
You know when im at th point of passing away want this to played for 1 last time it will let all the nostalgia in my body rise up
Can’t wait for the sequel
