My Haulmark side door is 48" x 72" rotted bottom badly, i stripped the aluminum outside sheeting and aluminum u channel seal pieces, used a 3/4" and 1/2" sheet of PT plywood, hinges are carriage bolted to steel inside the trailer wall on side of door, very heavy now but will out live me and looks great.
Cost a lot to do 2 sheets PT plywood new carriage bolts, new bar lock piece, etc. Oh and a tube of 3M 5200 to seal through bolts of hinges and lock, I had to use 2 different size plywood to get the right thickness for the u shaped door seal
That thing is coming together nicely 👌 and thx for responding yesterday like you always do i really appreciate you taking your time to first make the videos and second you have responded to every comment i ever sent you so thx i may need a few pointers soon im picking up a fiberglass front end and fiberglass doors for my foxbody so may need a professional opinion on some things but sry for the book lol keep up the awesome work
Always fun when you dig into a enclose trailer. I got to say after replacing 3/4 of the floor an and part of the wall then going over the rest an replacing anything that needed to give me satisfaction that you know what you have. I only have to paint it now an thank God I've had the paint for it before all went to hell lol. I think now the old Hallmark will do the job as I don't have much in it money wise. For a 22' an tow a 70 nova it's perfect for us an probably not have a problem getting my money back so it's a win win I think lol. Thanks for sharing
I told a buddy of mine about this series. He needs an enclosed trailer as well, told him these deals like this are probably not the norm, but, we should keep an eye on co-parts and similar auctions, you’re gonna have a nice trailer for a fraction of the cost of buying the same model un-damaged.
Cool deal definitely spread the word about this channel always has great info and he tells it how it is no bs good and bad and most importantly he always responds and helps if he can
Any chance you could help me know how I could replace the wood in the door with aluminum due to a wood allergy? Thr aluminum skin cure tly does t cover the offgassing when that door heats up
I didn’t realize the trailer was so short. Dumb question but gotta ask is your car gonna fit in it? I have a 22’ enclosed n with a Foxbody with a small wing, Honda scooter and some small cabinets up front things are pretty tight. I like following the build though and your right about the trailers not being built with quality parts/thought! FWIW mine has plywood interior front n sides with the top but it also has insulated panels on the ceiling which I guess helps with the summer sun heat during hot months. We used to set up ez-ups at the track out from the trailer but anymore we just hang out in the trailer these days with high velocity fans running in the trailer. AKA poor guy AC. But when it’s in the mid 90’s it’s just miserable n takes all the fun outta track days.
Yes according to all my measurements it will fit with hardly no room to walk around it. Winch it in and winch it out. That’s why I’ve had to come up with a way to secure front of car from side door which I haven’t talked about yet and haven’t ordered the parts. Yea I feel you on heat I’d like to add ac to the trailer from a RV one day soon so the girls can have some where to go if they go with me to track. I also wanna ad a tv for them and a window which I actually bought last weekend used.
Ok sounds like a plan which I was sure you had already thought about. I’ve looked into adding an AC unit on the roof of my trailer also. From my research adding one depending on what ya get a new setup is around $800 -$1,100 depending on which unit ya get n then add the generator to supply the power. My lil Honda 2000 generator wouldn’t cut it so say a HF 3500 unit would fit the bill n they are almost a grand now….ugh. 🙀
They cheap made these trailers with the insulation They dont think anyone will look If more ppl complain and sue maybe they'll start fully insulating not cheapie it out

That’s awesome sounds almost bulletproof proof lol

@@johnpower8356 oh forsure I understand that
It's crazy how little framing there is in a trailer door. Your repairs should add a lot of strength. And it loom good to boot 👍
Yea I was honestly surprised
They charge top dollar for the trailer but build them with cheap materials.
That’s the truth
👌looking better and better!
Thanks Daniel

@@ThePaintPaperHustle yes sir save that dollar when I can. I guess it gives me more to put into the car lol.
Yes it does!

The trailer has come a long way
Yes it has. The wife was actually saying that today.

I’d say same way as replacing with wood just use aluminum
