Even at level 60-80+ theres one enemy in there that WILL kill you and your pawns in ONE hit, and he can even be in the 1st room (like he was with me!) because he just roams around randomly, looking for pathetic humans so he can instakill them all.
+ncshuriken You mean that death like black thing? I meet it, killed my pawn and 1 hired pawn. I somehow survived as it just vanished when i was dealing with those annoying goblins at the time.
Bruh I watched this video and learned I was bitterback isle… been try to figure out why it got super hard out of nowhere. Bout gave up on the game ngl.
U forgot to mention one important thing about saving, there is a hard save (check point) and a quick save. The normal save is a quick save, and if you quit the game and come back it will be at that time. However, if you choose spawn at last check point, that is the hard save, hard save can only be done when u rest or use a rift stone
One of the things that I liked about dragons dogma was probably the fast travel. I like how you would have to literaly walk to places you want to be instead of teleporting
It made certain quests feel really grand and arduous when tracking towards places such as the blue moon tower, fighting a bunch of different enemies on the journey as your party slowly became weaker, more worn and then when you make it to the tower and the view was so worth it, and there's no other rpg that gives you that feeling
2021 and on my 5th playthrough, that last tip saved my pawn Legola from being turned into another Warrior or Sorcerer. Wanted to try out a Ranger Pawn but he always uses daggers, but it didn't occur to me that I could just remove the daggers. Thanks man!
Best advice I was given and adhere to is a 2 part piece. Play what you enjoy and don’t be afraid to try a different class to get a feel for it. Min maxing is cool and all but enjoy your journey.
Good tips, didn't know about unequiping the offhand weapon to make them more aggressive, definitely going to be useful. Added you on Steam as well, can't wait for this game to release

I bought it on ps3 yesterday and played for, I think, 4 hours but I died many times and it's strange because I thought it was as easy as Skyrim or something X) but when I died many times in the beginning then I thought "Oh no... Don't tell me it's Dark souls-like..." But I guess I just sucked at it and went to places where the ennmies are too powerfull for me. I'll stick to your advices, thanks a lot!

when i was level 3 i went to bitterblack and farmed the wolves and goblins (ive beat the game several times, new game plus , bitterblack twice and all) it only takes a long time if you do everything you can streamline the main story down to a few hours if you really want to. and u can skip the entire first half of bb your 2nd time around since u can just run past the monsters into the next area . you dont actually have to kill things unless your in a room with a locked door.
This game has DS vibes with exploration being rewarding and somewhat with difficulty if you're not leveled or prepared, MH with some enemies (ex Saurians) being extra vulnerable after taking a body part off and SOTC to a lesser degree. My gripe is the portcrystsl system but aside from that no complaints so far
Here's a tip. After you fight the Dragon, the King will turn the city Guard loose on you. Hang on the ledge of a wall in that area. They spawn infinitely and give very little exp. In turn you'll earn insane discipline because the guards will primarily target you (to no avail) while your pawns kill them off. Then go to work for 8 hours and come back. By then you'll have all the skills of whatever class you were entirely unlocked.
Hi there. I absolutely loved playing this game back on the PS3. I bought it even a second time when the complete edition with dlc came out. I'm thinking now of picking up the PS4 version. 0:48 in this area there are holes in the walls that are probably only accessible for a low stature character. I've always wondered if it's possible. Do know if you can make a small sized character to enter them? Or can you command a small pawn to enter? And is it worth the while?
"Fast Travel" I loved this in the OG Dragon's Dogma where there was like only one portcrystal. I think you could get more but you had to do NG+ to get another... I think. But I liked it because it made me feel like Lord of The Rings traversing Mordor with a party of 4. Was pretty cool. Don't get me wrong, the fast travel aids subsequent playthroughs (replays) and makes the game more open. But I still like to just journey without it a lot of the time.
I took the bandit side quest from the starting village and they completely whooped my ass. The Bandit chief just kills me in two swings. I have 2 pawns and bought the best equip from the shop. This game is really hard :D
+DethroCZ What level are you at? Bandits, Saurians & normal Goblins will SLAP you up between like lvl 1-5. Try doing some other quests first or exploring, collecting materials to make healths, potions, upgrades etc. By the time your done, you'll be ready to take those f*ckers to the cleaners! Think carefully about which bandit leader you kill though, they both have different rewards & penalties for doing so. The type of pawns you roll with is also really important. I played as a fighter, so I always had 1 mage/sorcerer, 1 Strider/Ranger (my main pawn) and a Warrior. That way your crew can adapt to almost any situation rather than specialising.
+ncshuriken Hey, I've already put the to sleep. And I'm playing with two pawns - Rook, main pawn - warrior and me - strider. What I really don't like is that every time they knock out Rook and I help him back, he immediately starts to cast healing spell and gets knocked out again. It happens really often.
Found the eternal fairystone pretty early on so I placed those teleport stones at all major locations that are close to all smaller locations and I never have any problem getting anywhere. Its a nice thing, tough I wish it was some kind of reward for killing a special boss, not just getting it at the start of the game. Personal downside to the game is when I started playing as a warrior, downside is you only get 3 skill slots and no block (how can you not block with a huge sword or hammer? sure it should not negate all damage, but somewhat reduce it, and give me 3 extra skills to use.)
I made it to a certain blue moon hint hint, and while I was going there I was barrage with skeletons sooo much human bones as my pawn relentlessly pointed out. Also does saying the name of your pawn help? If that’s the case, my pawn’s name is PlatWorld. She is a new strider at the moment.
I'm new at this game and have a stupid question. When I level up, do I have to do anything to make use of it or does it automaticly buff my character stats?
+Moto748 your stats lvl by themselves. along with xp to lvl up, you also get vocation points or whatever they are called to spend on new skills and moves, you buy them from an inn or elsewhere and equip them there after you buy them

im not sure. i dont think weight affects stamina regen speed, it does make u run way slower though. you should deposit and crafting materials and gear ur not using whenver u go to an inn, that helps with weight. and limit your potions and such to just what you need
Great game. Still haven't figured out how to get my pawns (main one and the other 2 that can follow you) to fight with me a little more. Sometimes seems like they are just standing around while I'm fighting some of the beasts.
I'm level 80 something and already on a "New Game Plus". When would be a good time to load Dark Arisen? I hate the "after dragon" part as they call it. Nice creatures to fight, but too damn dark.

fighter is the tankiest of all,warrior? thats the damage class,for mystic knight he can tank (but not good at it like fighter) he can buff element to party better than mage(cuz he use skill that buff the entire party but for mage they buff one by one)and he can crown control cuz he got the kind of a pulling aura skill and he got a lot of area damage skill....but its only damage the area around user.....andddd he got the range damage skill call magick cannon...u can add element to your wepon and it gonna fire that element. thats all.
warrior is tank, fighter is dps, warrior stat growth is health and it has very hard hitting moves. if u went from 10-200 with a fighter and 10-200 with a warrior the warrior would have much more health but the fighter would have the higher dmg stat.
+jori mills what about the skills? aren't warrior supose to has more health so he can survive in middle of a fight because he doesn't have any protection skills and he's very slow? and about fighter....aren't he has more dps because he can't do a ton of damage campare to other classes?
the fighter can do A LOT of burst dps with dragons maw and multi hit moves like it. and with warrior he has passives that literally make him only take like 25% of the dmg dealt to him when hes charging a move or doing a move. plus he gets heavier armor that provides more defense. he doesnt have much protective skills because he just has high health, defense , and passives that make him take way less dmg. fighter can only really mitigate dmg by perfect blocking or just take the small hit with a regular block . the bow classes can just roll and doge if they want. so warrior is the tru tank that can also do massive damage.
jori mills warrior? he's not the tankiest...like i said before he doesn't have any protection skill thats why he needs something to help him survive but fighter is not...he has the skills that can protect him like devine defence,steel will so he can survive the horde of monster....but warrior? how can he gonna survive that?....he has to run away far enough from them so he can use his skill without getting interupt...but not for fighter..he has a lot of skills that don't require even a second to use it,so i think he's the tankiest.
how do you fight sword + shield enemies as strider? every time I fight one he seems invulnerable, taking no damage, even when my pawns distract him and I hit him in the back. hell, even when my fighter holds the fucker in place and I sit there shredding his face off, his health doesn't go down. what am I doing wrong?
U mean like bandits or living armor? Bandits just shoot em with your 5 fold arrows (or whatever it's called) attack. Living armor, maybe try to distract him while your magic dude casts big spells ?
Captain August Yeah Bandits. And that's what I was doing too. My pawn would distract him and I'd shoot him in the back with Threefold Arrow, no damage. Is their damage threshold just too high or something?
Another tip Speedrunners will make your pawn be really weird. They will not give you an item, you will receive about 70k RC, and your pawn will have 1-3 stars in every quest and every monster type. They seem to use fighters who know springboard for this.
This is a old video but do you get the items from throwing them off cliffs? I never bothered doing that I started in hard mode and killed everything with minor death cases.
+Captain August It starts off okay I suppose, but just gets repetitive later into the 20's; A lot of the enemies are re-textured and a bunch of the animations for enemies were removed from the base game. For example the crawling animation for the Saurains were removed, the animations look lazy and stiff and it just doesn't seem as polished as Dark Arisen does, but I guess I can't really hate on it much considering it's a PS3 port. Setting the game is a pain in the ass, considering you have to download a VPN and make a Japanese account in order to even download the game's launcher, than after that you need to use the VPN's Japanese servers to download the game which takes hours. TL;DR: The game starts off okay than slowly loses interest. Most of the starting classes like Strider were removed and have to be unlocked through fetch-quests which eat up a shit load of time.
Is there no lock on system and rolling? People keep telling me there is but 10 hours in and I still cant figure it out. Cant get into this game without these 2 things so please help.
the lock on is automatic, just attack towards what you want to hit. for blocking just holding block will block automatically. Rolling is a skill for daggers, They are the only weapon you can roll with.

I got the game 3 days ago and I'm addicted I am level 41 and have over 1 and a half million gold also I'm at the quest where I have to confront the dragon but I'm gonna level up some more before I fight it cuz I have heard post game is alot harder and I wanna do as much quests as I can pre game
There isn't a black letterbox that I'm aware of on the ps4/ps5/pc. Maybe the aspect ratio in your game settings isn't set to the same aspect ratio that your TV or monitor is? If you are playing the original release on ps3 you are just out of luck.
Do go out at night time and revel in what a night should be in an RPG. It's not only realistic it's engrossing.
These are just tips for beginners.

I don't usually go to Bitter-Black Isle till level 90, But the game does recommend going at level 50 or above, so yeah you are correct.

I made it to a certain blue moon hint hint, and while I was going there I was barrage with skeletons sooo much human bones as my pawn relentlessly pointed out. Also does saying the name of your pawn help? If that’s the case, my pawn’s name is PlatWorld. She is a new strider at the moment.
I'm new at this game and have a stupid question. When I level up, do I have to do anything to make use of it or does it automaticly buff my character stats?
+Moto748 your stats lvl by themselves. along with xp to lvl up, you also get vocation points or whatever they are called to spend on new skills and moves, you buy them from an inn or elsewhere and equip them there after you buy them

im not sure. i dont think weight affects stamina regen speed, it does make u run way slower though. you should deposit and crafting materials and gear ur not using whenver u go to an inn, that helps with weight. and limit your potions and such to just what you need
Great game. Still haven't figured out how to get my pawns (main one and the other 2 that can follow you) to fight with me a little more. Sometimes seems like they are just standing around while I'm fighting some of the beasts.

I'm level 80 something and already on a "New Game Plus". When would be a good time to load Dark Arisen? I hate the "after dragon" part as they call it. Nice creatures to fight, but too damn dark.

im not sure if you beat it in normal then switch to hard for ng+, i would think you wouldnt reset but have never tested it

which is a best class for tanking warrior,fighter, or mystic knight
fighter is the tankiest of all,warrior? thats the damage class,for mystic knight he can tank (but not good at it like fighter) he can buff element to party better than mage(cuz he use skill that buff the entire party but for mage they buff one by one)and he can crown control cuz he got the kind of a pulling aura skill and he got a lot of area damage skill....but its only damage the area around user.....andddd he got the range damage skill call magick cannon...u can add element to your wepon and it gonna fire that element. thats all.
warrior is tank, fighter is dps, warrior stat growth is health and it has very hard hitting moves. if u went from 10-200 with a fighter and 10-200 with a warrior the warrior would have much more health but the fighter would have the higher dmg stat.
+jori mills what about the skills? aren't warrior supose to has more health so he can survive in middle of a fight because he doesn't have any protection skills and he's very slow?
and about fighter....aren't he has more dps because he can't do a ton of damage campare to other classes?
the fighter can do A LOT of burst dps with dragons maw and multi hit moves like it. and with warrior he has passives that literally make him only take like 25% of the dmg dealt to him when hes charging a move or doing a move. plus he gets heavier armor that provides more defense. he doesnt have much protective skills because he just has high health, defense , and passives that make him take way less dmg. fighter can only really mitigate dmg by perfect blocking or just take the small hit with a regular block . the bow classes can just roll and doge if they want. so warrior is the tru tank that can also do massive damage.
jori mills warrior? he's not the tankiest...like i said before he doesn't have any protection skill thats why he needs something to help him survive but fighter is not...he has the skills that can protect him like devine defence,steel will so he can survive the horde of monster....but warrior? how can he gonna survive that?....he has to run away far enough from them so he can use his skill without getting interupt...but not for fighter..he has a lot of skills that don't require even a second to use it,so i think he's the tankiest.

how do you fight sword + shield enemies as strider? every time I fight one he seems invulnerable, taking no damage, even when my pawns distract him and I hit him in the back. hell, even when my fighter holds the fucker in place and I sit there shredding his face off, his health doesn't go down. what am I doing wrong?
U mean like bandits or living armor? Bandits just shoot em with your 5 fold arrows (or whatever it's called) attack. Living armor, maybe try to distract him while your magic dude casts big spells ?
Captain August Yeah Bandits. And that's what I was doing too. My pawn would distract him and I'd shoot him in the back with Threefold Arrow, no damage. Is their damage threshold just too high or something?
yea maybe if ur waaaaaaay lower lvl and have shit weapons I suppose
I love taking on giants the hard way even at night. The only enemies that I hate are the harpies, cockatrice and the ghosts.
Another tip
Speedrunners will make your pawn be really weird. They will not give you an item, you will receive about 70k RC, and your pawn will have 1-3 stars in every quest and every monster type. They seem to use fighters who know springboard for this.
This is a old video but do you get the items from throwing them off cliffs? I never bothered doing that I started in hard mode and killed everything with minor death cases.

+Captain August It starts off okay I suppose, but just gets repetitive later into the 20's; A lot of the enemies are re-textured and a bunch of the animations for enemies were removed from the base game.
For example the crawling animation for the Saurains were removed, the animations look lazy and stiff and it just doesn't seem as polished as Dark Arisen does, but I guess I can't really hate on it much considering it's a PS3 port.
Setting the game is a pain in the ass, considering you have to download a VPN and make a Japanese account in order to even download the game's launcher, than after that you need to use the VPN's Japanese servers to download the game which takes hours.
TL;DR: The game starts off okay than slowly loses interest. Most of the starting classes like Strider were removed and have to be unlocked through fetch-quests which eat up a shit load of time.

Is there no lock on system and rolling? People keep telling me there is but 10 hours in and I still cant figure it out. Cant get into this game without these 2 things so please help.
the lock on is automatic, just attack towards what you want to hit. for blocking just holding block will block automatically. Rolling is a skill for daggers, They are the only weapon you can roll with.
@@HurtyTeefs Ohhh alright that clears that up. Thanks for the quick reply. Im kind of dissapointed about rolling being limited to daggers but at least its there. I will give this game another go and try building around daggers.
@@CantTreadOnMe for sure man if they ever make DD2 there had better be a way to dodge with all classes. Or at least for light/medium armor weapons. I could understand not having it for like great hammers and stuff but only daggers is ridiculous.

There isn't a black letterbox that I'm aware of on the ps4/ps5/pc. Maybe the aspect ratio in your game settings isn't set to the same aspect ratio that your TV or monitor is? If you are playing the original release on ps3 you are just out of luck.
