How to Install a Luggage Rack & a Rickrak on a Harley Tri-Glide Trike Trunk

- We show you how to install a luggage rack on the trunk of a Harley-Davidson Tri-Glide as they do not come stock with one. We installed this Harley luggage rack so we could then put a Rickrak quick detach strapless luggage system and bag on top of it. You dont need to do all the marking. I did that. Then learned that on the inside of the factory tour Pack, there is dimple Mark's for all four bolts
Yup! I was like?? WTF ?? I did the same install on my 2020 T/G and used the molded in drill marks . It took less than 10 minutes to do the entire install, using a step drill bit.

Not all tour packs have the markings in side the lid. My 2011 does not valve inside marking.
There are markings on the underside of the lid to drill holes for the luggage rack
Ryan, if you look on the inside of the trunk lid, Harley has conveniently marked the drilling locations for the Harley racks. Makes the install much easier

A luggage rack is a must for any tour-pack. I installed one on my razor tour-pack for my Road King but I only load it with lighter items, bags or rolls.

Cool system. The HD manual says you should not put more than 10 pounds or some ridiculous low weight on the luggage rack. I take it we are not concerned that higher weight will damage the tour pack?
I bought the Rickrak bag at Sturgis last year. Really, really nice, lots of room. I did have an issue, however... one of the rubber spacers on the clamp worked itself loose, which cause the metal on the clamp to gouge the luggage rack on my 2020 Ultra Limited... had the rack been chrome, it wouldn't have been a problem, however, it's a black rack and the coating was scratched off in a couple of places... was able to buy extra spacers from Rickrak...

Open lid and you will see 4 indentations for drilling the holes
Thanks for the video. My Road Glide Ultra came with the rack already installed. But I'll know what to do if I change bikes.

U guys did know there was marks inside the upper lid for the rack?
Next time, look inside the box lid and you will find some dimples already for drilling. No measuring required.
Indian trunks have indents on the inside of the trunk to install a rack.
Good video ,but I had the dealership fit mine.
Just didn't feel confident that I wouldn't have damaged the trunk.

@@RyanUrlacher I don't think I was clear enough regarding my question. Will your system (case, rack system, hardware, etc. ) fit on a rack made for a BMW Grand America? I looked into your website, but it says its for HD racks. Is your system compatible with non-HD racks?

Why on God's green Earth did he get the basic rack instead of the Air Wing rack after spending that much money on the trike? I replaced the base rack on my Ultra with the Air wing and absolutely love it. The Rickrak works great on it too.
