How was Leia able to turn a heart warming reunion between fatou and her mother into a pity party for herself??🙄🙄. I’m sure blackswan would have had a concert in brazil where in the future too and leia wood have been able to see her family. I find it self centred of her to be angry at fatou for her not being able to see her family. The members must have been disappointed in her behaviour
@@jeyn123well if she was humble and was arrogant with the amount of local stans she gained, then she would’ve got the same amount of international fans, but she thought too carelessly and messed up
i dont think the company would be allowed to mention or show any of the other trainees that no longer work with them on something like a tv show. technically they'd be profitting off of their images without their contratual consent. im not a legal expert in any way tho, this is just common practice on the entertainment industry me thinks
I dont like how Leia's mom called Fatou a "bully" in such a public way as it isnt an accusation to throw lightly. She muddled the situation and made it harder for the members to reconcile with her daughter. That being said, I feel like kpop members could use way more paid vacations/breaks from one another. I'm not a bad person but if I had to spend that much time under that much pressure in such an ego-driven career with 3 other people, I would also start to break down and act out, having my emotions all over the place. Even the best friendships/sibling bonds would be severly tested under these circumstances. It's human.

It's like the documentary writer told each team they were filming different types of shows. Reality TV for Blackswan, a training expose for Starship, and helping Jessi collect video evidence for potential lawsuits
FR 😊 she wasn’t even skilled in vocals and dance and her stage presence and overall performance deteriorated after the scandal, yet she was still able to gain a strong local fanbase full of her people just because she is Brazilian and is a pretty girl with no scent. I was actually taken aback by how mask-off the k-pop companies in this documentary were. They might as well have said: "Of course we're money-hungry and have no regard for human life! In fact, that is our motto, and we wear it as a badge of honor!"

this is why i don’t take kpop seriously anymore and am slowly losing interest in it. debuting people that can’t even do their main job properly, dancing and singing, and also risking the health of your trainees by making them lose 15 pounds in 2 weeks is insane
honestly something i noticed as a new kpop fan last year is that i would listen to the most trash song just because my fav group made it. That made me realize kpop heavily relies on the devotion and loyalty of the fans, rather than talent itself. I just wonder how far that will really take them.
Honestly, this is why I’m glad I’m an older fan, and that I’ve been into Kpop for so long. I’ve seen so many insane scandals, I’ve seen fanwars and false allegations (and real ones), I’ve seen people go nuts for trash songs just because their bias group released it, and I’ve seen extremely talented groups overlooked just because they’re not from the big 4. At this point, I’m happy to listen to good songs, but I’m pretty much done with everything else. I think it’s so sad that I’m at this point as a fan, but I’m just so sick of all the drama…and how the quality of singers has dropped so rapidly.
I agree but this group is nugu from a very messy company that can't handle anything without it becoming public and has an awful historic of mistreating trainees and idols. Very different to how things happen in established kpop companies.
@@Marinlss not really. HYBE have been debuting idols that aren’t ready for a long time, not to mention the fact that they’ve been airing all of their dirty internal laundry lately. It’s not an issue with smaller companies, it’s an industry wide issue.

I see them as an exception from other companies, the new jeans issue would never happen on SM or jyp.

She has her own label now! If anything, it's the best decision for her since she can do whatever she wants. There was a lot of conversation about what she wants and "if she's the problem" among fans and non-fans ever since she left More Vision but watching this docuseries really helps understanding what she expected from her career and what she wanted and wants in the future.
I could never feel sorry for Leia & her mom. There was a million other ways to handle this situation and it could have been talked about with her company but they chose not too. Good Riddance!
Seriously though, I don’t understand why she even debuted as an idol. She was terrible at fulfilling her duties: she was mediocre in singing and dancing, she had no idea how to build a professional work ethic and got away with slacking off, she was disrespectful towards other people and ruined positive side of fulfilling dreams, got her fans to help her with a hate campaign that didn’t even budge to stop the group and she was the one who was creating problems to try sabotage the group to get what she wanted and all she got in the end was karma 😂 she should’ve known that the idol industry is tough and should’ve taken the opportunity to take that into honing her craft and improve over time and she didn’t do that. She was just desperate for attention and didn’t even think about the consequences of mucking around with an opportunity that any other young someone dream of fulfilling and she doesn’t want to take full responsibility of what she did?! 🤦🏽♀️ This is so disappointing, especially when she was meant to use this as a opportunity to represent her heritage and other Brazilian 🇧🇷 and Portuguese 🇵🇹 people and this would’ve never happened if she wasn’t so hasty. #leiaisaliar

The graduation system in K-pop is obviously an excuse for DR Music to say, the graduation system only ruins it more (I remember 9Muses having members leaving and joining which in the end they disbanded as a group, also Star Empire way of treating was another reason 9Muses didn’t get the success they deserved)
The graduation system can actually be really succesful and lasting but it's commonly only used as an excuse of bad management or they commit the mistake of agency choosing when a member should leave, when it should be the member itself to choose. After School was the most promising out of all of them but Pledis failed them miserably
@@alertafuegochango Yeah, After School did have a lot of success despite having members graduating (I read in an interview that Kahi the group’s leader and founder said she didn’t know about the rotation system, she said she would last long with the members she recruited), Pledis always failed their groups, especially after Pristin’s disbandment and NU’EST disbandment, ever since fromis_9 came to Pledis, they had less content especially after Gyuri left the team
Korea seems to be the only country with idols that can't do graduation groups, I've seen graduation groups from other countries and they are doing fine.
@@zacharikurbah6358 Pledis failed every single one of their groups and I don't understand how this company was able to get away with it this far. The only reason Seventeen is doing well is because of the members themselves.
@@mima_piedade It might have to do with the way fan culture is there. SM wanted to do that with NCT and briefly graduated Mark until the fans asked to bring him back.
From my perspective, Leia appears to be quite manipulative and has a notable ego. While her mental health challenges were highlighted, I believe other members were affected by her actions and claims. I understand she was struggling, but that doesn’t excuse her behavior. I have empathy for her situation, yet I still believe her actions were unjustifiable.
yeah at the time witnessing the fallout she seemed bitter and jealous especially of Fatou, wouldn’t be surprised the fact she had no notable talent when she became a trainee would’ve gave her an inferiority complex to the other members who actually had something the way her fans after she lied on Fatou’s name first calling her a bully immediately were so racist to Fatou and Leia just watched, and then accused the other 2 korean members alongside her mom of bullying her too, the story changing like immediately
As lovely a human as Leia might be when she isn’t under extreme stress, she was clearly making things very difficult and frustrating for the other girls. Not exactly the same thing but I had an ex colleague who would complain every day about how hard the job was, not getting on with other colleagues and how they wanted to quit. This was like every other day. Eventually I was like “why don’t you just leave then?” and she lost her shit because she’d “trained so hard to obtain this job”. Don’t ever stay in a situation you’re unhappy with solely because you put yourself through intense pressure to get there, it’s not worth it and complaining all the time is an emotional drain on everyone around you 🤷🏻♀️
1. Blackswan is not rania hence why it’s not mentioned . Dr and even ex lead mentioned Dr wanted to rania fans to move to blackswan but it didn’t work and the ex rania members are gone now anyway. 2. This doc didn’t mention this issue made Fatou suicidal 3. Sriya and Gabi was already auditioning to enter group and probably will only be one of the others didn’t leave
God loves you! You can repent and believe that Jesus paid the price for our sins! Because He can give you so much love, joy and peace! God bless you You are worthy in His eyes
Blackswan isn't a rebrand of Rania that's why they didn't mention it. The graduation system was introduced as an excuse for why the K-line left the group when it was clearly because of Leia.
no, Blackswan is a rebrand of Rania. That's why their debut album is "Goodbye Rania" - it's saying Rania is 100% done ans finalized as it is now. But Rania always had the graduation concept, they just...didn't communicate it well 😅😂 DR Music is a MESS Rania was a rebrand of a Baby V.O.X. revival, then changed to BP Rania when Alex was added, then quietly Rania 5, before everyone left and the group changed to Blackswan with all new members.
@@cynatriss The company does not mention them being a rebrand of rania so why must yall constantly say that's what they are. That's like me comparing former members of izeone that ended up in ive. Does that mean they're a rebrand of Izeone? No.

I thought it was dumb that Leia was crying and making a big deal over her mom is growing old without her but she CHOOSES to live in South Korea? Was it because of her contract that she HAD to live in South Korea? Or did Leia just changed her mind about her mom when she started dating her bf? Edited: I feel like there is a lot of aggression in my words. It's okay if Leia changes her mind, everyone is allowed to evolve. I just wish that the whole situation was handled correctly by everyone.
Nah, Leia handled things poorly and acted like a little kid, tbh. She's a grown ass woman and made the decision to move to S.K, so that's on her. Also, her mum should have stayed queit, because she also made the situation much worse. Both Leia and her mother were immature about the whole thing. It's one thing for a person to change their mind and evolve and I get that it's her life, but the way Leia did things was just stupid and childish and caused a lot of problems for others. She was horrible to Fatou and Fatou didn't deserve that at all. Maybe Leia should have just stayed at home, instead of whining and trying to get attention and moving halfway across the world. It's a big decision to move to a different country and needs proper consideration, yet it feels like she didn't think at all, which is a bit concerning. You're totally right and I honestly agree with you. You weren't really being aggressive, imo. You were saying what many others were already thinking, so don't worry about it! :D I don't understand why Brazillian fans defended Leia so much and gave so much hate to Fatou. It's really sad.
@@ReptilianTeaDrinker Because they're the same nationality. I've literally seen people saying that on twitter. Not to mention, when Fatou released her frustration on stories and deleted after, she mentioned a part of Leia saying to a friend that she will be backed because she's brazilian.
One of the biggest things I got out of this docuseries personally is just that I have so much respect for jessi fr.. I didn't know she was dealing w all that
DR most likely didn't included NVEE because of BLACKSWAN lives and the show she has been on for a while where she constantly talks about her trainee days and how her trainee life was
Leia was especially focused on Fatou as they were visually the most foreign members. People who are obsessed with attention tend to get unnecessarily threatened when encountering “competition”
From what I’ve observed just by hearing what people thought about she was being portrayed, it did seem like she was threatened by Fatou just because she wanted to be the bigger person, but not put in effort/hard work. She was really delusional in an embarrassing way 😂.
i didnt mind the long content. i was prepping, cooking, and washing dishes. this was actually really interesting and i was glad i wasnt searching youtube on what to watch next while i was busy. i didnt think the documentary was about black swan before their current line up. that surprised me. and the label saying they have a "graduation" system. why they lying. lmao. 😁
I like black swan a lot, I love their current lineup (I’m genuinely hoping & beliving that this lineup is 100% their final- gabi, sriya, and nvee are an amazing trio & Fatou brings it all together beautifully) and I genuinely have a hard time accepting that Leia was even apart of the group at all. As a singer and dancer, she’s bad. As a visual, imo, she’s subpar at best. I think her visual was alright when she was doing her interview episode 1- but on stage & in video she was not visual material. So like- being a less than stellar visual + being an average singer/dancer was a rlly shitty combo for me. On top of that, I think she should have kept her mouth shut about her opinions on other members that stuck around & wanted to continue their career- calling Fatou a bully in fucking South Korea was absolutely insane imo. She loves Korean culture so much, she should understand the weight of referring to someone as a bully.
Like at a certain point they could have chosen any average Brazilian girl off the street- and frankly, it feels like they did lmfao. Like they weren’t getting anybody else from Brazil to try out so they just went with leia cause she wouldn’t stop sending videos and pictures 💀
+ she’s hella young. No wonder she couldn’t control her emotions and what she said online. I’m glad the girls gone, ngl. If she’s too young to control her emotions & keep issues offline, she’s too young to debut. I don’t understand the whole back & forth- she wants to go, she’s not a great singer or dancer, all 3 of the other girls are better visuals, why are we talking abt her 💀
@@SQeesqEE-gh3uz Fatau was suicidal and almost did it because of the issue, its not a uwu drama to be excited about, a human life was about to be gone
Maybe the documentary could have been better made and aimed at a more specified audience, but your breakdown of it was genuinely really good! I agree they should have gone in a more "these are the different kinds of artists that exist in the kpop industry" bcs from an outside perspective most ppl expect smt like cravity and starship's situation rather than smt like jessi's solo career or blackswan. Besides that, really enjoyed the video while being quite informative
bulleted list of my thoughts (only the cravity part though since they're the only one i actually follow, this might be long because i am honestly mad hahaha) - we already know that sse higher ups barely acknowledged and uplifted the boys spirits during their debut era, but the fact that their very own manager (at 19:00) is not even giving them any positive remarks despite 2 years of hard work is appalling. - apparently jiyong was also cut from the cravity lineup due to his age (he called taeyoung "hyung" so i assume he's a 2004 liner), so if he is still training at starship then he could appear in the new boy group next year since he'd only be 21 (if sse will follow their 5 year pattern, serim & allen were 21 during their debut year) or they might start sending trainees in survival shows again. - i have so much hatred towards eshy especially with how he only stunted monsta x's growth in the states *by not doing his job of promoting their albums* but i do have to agree with him that cravity has the potential to be one of kpop's biggest stars just like their seniors are, the boys are incredible performers, the members can also produce their own songs, and they can definitely sing and rap. starship just needs to have a proper marketing plan for them. - going back to how staff in sse treated them, they only started acknowledging their existence after they got hype during adrenaline era and only gave them a compliment after their kcon performance, and the "compliments would lead to laziness" mentality of their staff is total BULLSHIT. i wish the people in this company would actually value the art of music and performance more than the money they get, and would actually learn that THEY as a company also has to put in the work as much as the artist to be able to see results. sse should not even dare to compare monsta x and cravity's levels of success, did they even forget that it took monsta x OVER 3 YEARS to get a music show win? did they forget how monsta x also experienced a slump during their rookie years just like cravity did? and did they conveniently forget that monsta x actually saw huge success in korea when the members were simultaneously promoting themselves in multiple shows for almost a year in 2021-2022? now cravity mentioned in their newest cravity park episode that they thought it would be their last album everytime they'll have a comeback (additional context, they also mentioned that they thought evershine would be their final comeback) speaks a lot of how starship sees and treats them up to this day, their sales are actually growing every album release (evershine has almost 370k now) but starship still thinks it's not enough and it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that sse would just shove them to the backburner like boyfriend and wjsn if they see even the slightest drop in sales. it wouldn't be a shock that they were coerced into joining road to kingdom because starship has instilled it into their minds that they are not successful enough. starship is their biggest enemy indeed.
To be fair, Brazilians have this fame of being messy and half arsed whenever they go, even the Brazilian trainee from Dream Academy got herself in an awkward spot. Being Brazilian myself I can see how Leia had an ego that sunk her ship. I can't blame anybody else but her.
@aouzayr24 It's not even about being lazy, brazilians in general are pretty hardworking, the issue is the lack of discipline and overall type of mentality nurtured here. It's hard to explain, but nothing justifiies or explains Leia's actions other than she sucks. Sure, depression explains the struggle with practicing and everything, but her behaviour in Fatou's house and after is horrendous.
The Brazilian Trainee in Dream Academy got backlash for liking Posts on social Media that were perceived as racist against Indians, not for her conduct. Before the backlash, she was doing quite well on the Missions and Fan voting.
I feel like DR entertainment should have just said that Blackswan was a whole new girl group instead of just saying it’s the same group when it isn’t. Now that’s the biggest thing that Blackswan haters use against them that they had a lot of line up changes. Rania was just a kpop group and Blackswan is a global kpop group with only foreign members, so I see them as a whole new group. This should be the official line up now, they aren’t going to remove or add anyone(hopefully they don’t go back on their word or it’ll look really bad). All Luminas think that DR entertainment is a horrible company and that it will be Blackswan’s biggest downfall (hopefully not). They don’t promote them enough and don’t announce when Blackswan is performing until it’s too late and the tickets are already sold out(literally happened at few days ago with the Chinese full moon festival). The only reason I’m not advocating for all them to leave the group and join a new company together is because Fatou and Nvee are older and the age that they debut kpop idols are getting younger and younger. This is Fatou’s and Nvee’s only shot to succeed. Gabi and Sriya will probably have another shot and maybe Nvee but that’s it for Fatou.
looking at the numbers (album sales specifically)- cravity is more popular than monsta x- like by about 55,000 albums (taking 4 million albums sold in 9 years in korea and 2 million in 4 years) like starship wtf crunch the numbers they’re like on the same level album sales wise theyre doing well get out!!! ugh
i don’t really know either group for context so i was looking at sales of albums- monsta x stans nothing against them! i was trying to make a point that cravity is not a disappointment or a flop like their company had kept saying like were cravity supposed to sell four million albums immediately? it took monsta x ages and theyre on the same curve (cravity is having the same sales curve that monsta x had/is also having)
monsta x's income mostly came from their world tours, they didn't had as much korean fans in 2018-2019 as they do now so their album sales were at 200-250k per release (only reached the 400k mark during their 2nd peak at 2021, but concerts are still their biggest strength). and even though cravity debuted during the pandemic when the sales was skyrocketing due to video call fansigns, they never fell below 150k sales per album so there's really no reason for starship to treat them as disappointment.
I hope you’ll do made in korea the kpop experience next cause the finale’s next next week and I’m unexpectedly tuning in to the show cause the boys are actually super sweet and the music especially solar is giving me the my 1d whiplash I never knew I needed. Blaise is growing out of his ego and learning how to work with the team, james with his autism, dexter and his diabetes struggles and reese and olly growing out of their comfort zones.
ngl this show kind of made me fall in love with Cravity and really want to root for them. the only reason I watch was because I love Monsta X they are my ults and I just wanted to see snippets of them but for real, I enjoyed all the stories.
What happened to Jessie in Europe is a constant situation that, if it's distressing and hard for fans, it's just as bad or worse for the artists. Several promoters getting venues they can't afford or selling more tickets than the venue can accommodate, cancelling shows or changing plans which makes fans lose money since it's easy to travel in Europe and the fact they barely promote something and fans think it might be a scam. The last one happened to Monsta X in London and because everyone thought it was a scam, no one came and they had to make the entrance for free.
Léia did actually start dating someone, while still signed under a contract, which is a breach of obligations an idol is not supposed to do, but she obviously didn’t care about the consequences until she realised that she wasn’t mentally at her best. It’s a shame because she could’ve been one of the top foreign idols, but I guess her fanbase made her feel more than what she actually deserved.
Haven’t watched the documentary but I have to point out that, while DR Music lost almost all power they had in the past two decades, Baby V.O.X. Was indeed a pioneer in the kpop industry, being one of the three biggest 1st gen girl groups (the others being S.E.S. & FinKL) they were the first ones that achieved international (in Asia outside of Korea) Success back in the 90s and early 2000s. They also ended in a sour note but they were a PRETTY huge deal back then. Also known for being controversial because they were the first ones with “sexy concepts” or different sounding music to what the other gg in Korea were doing at the time. They were trendy and had successful big concerts in different places. That’s why DR at first tried to replicate them in the mid 2000s with Baby V.O.X. ReV (or something like that), then at the very beginning of RaNia, they were also singing old Baby V.O.X songs.
I’m sorry but let’s not glaze over what Judy and Younguen were saying they were basically mad that they got over a situation that had nothing to do with them and then pulling the Korean card and saying they wouldn’t be successful I get the anger but was the extra nesscessary tho. Made me side eye them.
When it was announced that Blackswan would have no Korean members everybody was in doubt just like they were, some even going as far as saying that they should disband simply because of the fact that there was no Korean members at all. I don't see how they were in the wrong thinking the same way 🤷🏾♀️
but what's kopop, kpop is not the fact that they are Korean but rather they sing in Korean for other Koreans who can't speak English to enjoy because kpop is not a new genre of music but rather it's hiphop and pop combined which is why the are Japanese,Chinese,Thailand,Filipino in many kpop groups because it's not exclusive to Korea alone because if that was the case then it wouldn't be so popular like it is now just like how you don't need to be any race to be a rapper, hiphop, rnb, country, rock, classic,Popstar that's what makes music fun so I personally don't think they should disband because they clearly want to make Korea music just like how many Koreans want to make English(black music) these days.
They will not tell everything, FATOU clearly stated that Leia said hurtful words and LEIA apologized, however her mom made the fans believe that the group was bullying her daughter who was not working. DR music staff said that in kpop idols that do that (not working or rehearse) are kicked out or pay their contract. + Money was invested, the survival of the group the livelyhood of the staff.
She locked her herself in the bathroom for hours then posted on her close friends story "Wow so fucking fun here, I want to leave," Leia such a damn brat
@@JinnnnahI feel Like she probably did more than that even. Like probably straight said some crazy shit in front of fatou and her family when she finally came out the restroom cause she refused to apologise. I mean Leila messed up big time but the company should've done more for her! She needed to rest for a while and take care of her mental health... in the meantime, both Gabi and Sirya (IDK how to spell her name sorry) would've had more time to train and the pressure would've been less for all of them...
Leia genuinely gets on my nerves, I’m sorry. I get she had some issues but she just uses it as an excuse for her nasty ass attitude, also leia sat there and allowed fatou to get harassed get threats all that shit, just to post a shrug emoji on her instagram story after the doc came out. I genuinely don’t understand how anyone could think she doesn’t play victim
the whole blackswan situation really confirmed for me that people don't treat kpop idols as human beings, they think they're characters that can be read and are 100% good or 100% evil, no in between. These are people at the end of the day, none of them are villains or heros, they're just people who had to work with each other but didn't get along, had different expectations and things fell apart. imagine having thousands of people giving opinions about your problems with your coworkers when they have no idea of what was actually going on between the both of you??? i don't take sides on kpop groups drama anymore, when it gets too messy (and blackswan has been messy from the start) i just move on.
Eshy jumpscare. God i didnt realize he was in this docu (loud fart noises) this video showed up in my recommended and thank god because now i dont have to actually watch the whole 6 eps.
Who said Jessie paved the way? That's not even accurate. Many Koreans have been successful in America. Earliest is The Kim Sisters. If anything Psy really paved the way for everyone. His song was a massive hit & performed all over America.
I feel like the two Korean members that left were kind of feeling some type of way about black swan being a kpop group without Korean members. Maybe I'm reading too much into it but it came off as xenophobic a little.
I never felt bad for Leia but now i am a little sympathetic. I dont think she was prepared or aware of how long and how much work she needed to put in to be in that industry. It was naive if she believed theyd find instant success and it was wrong of her to take her grief out on the other members and staff. What she did was still wrong and i dont think it excuses any rude behavior but it gave me some understanding and motivation behind her behaviors. I think she wanted sympathy from everyone and to get her way especially with the recording booth thing... pretty unprofessional and it looked like she wanted to talk about it. Theres a time and place and I can believe that she wanted everyones time to revolve around her needs. She just wasnt living in the reality of their situation. They are all very young when they become trainees and idols im sure for many of them it is just too hard or impossible to adapt to. *but I still don't think shes taking full accountability for what must've gone on between the members since the other two felt betrayed by Fatou and never answered Leia
International stans have taken issue with how her image emulates a Western female(most notably a mature Black female) and how she is appropriating Black women by tanning her skin, getting fillers/enhancements to look like a Black woman and acting like one by “faking” her accent(which BTW she’s from New Jersey, so it makes sense why, but still… 😬) and Korean fans are very strict with what idols wear and have to look like, so with Jessi, she dresses too “provocative”/ tends to act too much like a gyopo(Korean slang for a foreign born Korean).
She's still pretty popular in South Korea and even had successful talk shows and podcasts so I think she's still doing well for herself. I'm excited to see how her career continues to evolve over time.
@@ressivVEVO it’s not her age, it’s just that international stans have issues with how she portrays herself in terms of cultural “appropriation”(using a accent to mimic a Black person and styling herself to look racially “ ambiguous”while some of the Korean public don’t like how provocative she is with her image and actions
I feel like this documentary made me feel more sympathetic for Leia tbh. At first it was made to believe that Leia intentional started this hate train on fatou and had many people side against her way before the documentary came out but, having more context on how this whole controversy started and the mental health of Leia, it at least helped me see the situation more neutrally.
Same although She was shown to be very manipulative towards her mom and even the members. One thing i have to say, they didn’t mention the mental effect it had on fatou, fatou was suicidal during the controversy but all the attention was on Leia’s depression. I will never forget Leia and her mom liking racist tweets about fatou, but i can see how she was struggling a lot. Personally I don’t think she was made for fame. She should live a quiet life, deleted her presence as a public figure and be a normal person, leaving all behind. It’s not like she has a passion or talent for music. She can find something she is good at.
mental health is important, yes she is ill and she should've put herself first instead of adutioning over and over, making it, just to say she doesnt want to be there and cause problems for fatou and the other members, so i cannot feel bad for her :/ if her mom is like that, how can we imagine how she was raised and her views? i feel sad for her, but also irritated
You can definitely see the mental toll it took on her. But some of her actions are still inexcusable. Her immature behavior that lead the other members to quit, the bullying controversy. There could have been a lot avoided. She could have bowed out way sooner.
I agree, although she did things we all don’t agree with she was clearly struggling extremely with her mental health which effects people in different ways. As someone also struggling with mental health I saw alot of myself in Leia and in the way it can make you do things you usually wouldn’t do. This is coming from someone who had the same views as you on the Leia/Fatou situation when it happened
Still not sympathetic. Leia did start the hate train by making that post which subsequently led to her mom having the fan accounts target Fatou. Leia refused to publicly apologize and did encourage her fans to make the racists attacks by liking posts and not speaking out against it. Leia was not the only one in that group going through mental struggle. Her leaving was for the best for literally everyone
Holy? By the 43 min mark, Leía looks BAD. It’s obvious her mental health has taken a toll on her so I’m confused why the comments here are so bad. She’s obviously struggling and out of the group already….
And all the comments about how a person chooses to live away from their parents meaning that they do not have the right to miss them?? Sorry, thats such dumb thought. Maybe she feels terrible because she had no chance to pursue her career without moving, then finds out that all the bad stuff you went through to debut Will just be worse, and that you're Stuck in a backyard company with members that hate you and make no effort to fix the relationship. Like, lets just accept leia is a perfect picture of what your idols go or have gone through but are forced to pretend they're not. Until years later accusations come Up and ruin everything.
Leia disrespected Fatou's family, and she made everything hard for Fatou and the other members. And you also said how the members basically should've made an effort to fix the relationship but why do they have to fix a relationship Leia ruined? All the girl had to do was apologize, Fatou didn't speak to her after that because she was not ok with that, and Youngheun and Judy too cause they also we're OK with her behavior
Fatou is like me. Disrespect me, I can ignore you and move on. Disrespect my family, especially in front of me, you can fk right off. Fatou and the other members have no obligation to fix anything Leia broke. If she cared so much about the group and the members, she has a pretty funny way of showing it. What we’re not gonna do is excuse Leia’s bs after all this evidence.
Feeling bad for a bully who tried to push the “aggressive” and “bully” black girl agenda on fatou is definitely a choice. And not a good one. Not even the fbi could get that out of me.
@@OhMawD well cuz she became depressed and felt like all she worked for on her teenage years went to nothing. Like its clear she had tons of mental health problems and probs her company just couldnt let her actually rest like for example jyp with mina twice and lia itzy.
To be honest, I was really bored while watching this documentary. I'm a Luvity and I love Jessi as well that's why I gave this documentary a chance. But only 30% of the documentary featured Cravity and Jessi, the remaining 70% was nothing but drama between the members of Blackswan and Dr Music being the biggest delulu I've ever seen in my life. I don't really know what blackswan parts have contributed to my life because if you ask me, I never felt like they had any fans. When I saw their names on the internet, everyone was making fun of them. So I can't help but think that Dr Music paid a lot of money for this documentary. Because other names in the documentary, Jessi is a big name in the kpop industry, while Cravity was the eagerly awaited boy band with popular trainees among the general public to debut from an established and successful company.
Also, Jessi and Cravity had much more experiences that could be the subject of a documentary. For example, when the documentary was shot, for Jessi we can say that it took years to make a name for herself, she sacrificed a lot on this way and finally she is an artist who has no one to trust in the industry anymore. And for Cravity, we can talk about the 4 members were introduced to the public with a survival show and all of them received sympathy, a lot of preparations were made for their debut, but due to the wrong timing, they were deprived of the things they had planned and prepared for for a long time due to the pandemic, therefore they are a group with great potential that has fallen short of meeting the expectations of their companies and has not yet proven themselves. As you can see, a lot of stories could really come out of what I've mentioned about these two artists. But they chose to focus on a group that are so unimportant to fans around the world, their existence in the market is questionable and was trying a bunch of crazy new strategies to stay afloat.
And if you ask me, one of the biggest problems with this documentary was that it was shot 2 years before its release date. You may not believe it, but 2 years is a long time period for radical changes to occur. Like Jessi left Jay Park's company, which shown she sign a contract with in the last part of the documentary and she decided to work alone by herself. Also Cravity literally made 3 comeback after Party Rock era and held a world tour which has included multiple different cities from Asia, America and i guess Europe too. Changing concepts worked in their favor and they were finally able to find their own style. They are currently considered one of the most successful and hardworking boy bands in the 4th generation. Their growth charts are exactly like Monsta X and Seventeen's. Relatively slow but very steady and accelerating upwards. I don't know much about Blackswan so I can't comment on them but i guess they are still flopping. My point is that as fans, we already knew the events depicted in this documentary. We also knew all the events that would happen until 2 years later. This documentary really didn't give us anything because it also didn't tell the events through the psychology of the idols (except Blackswan and at some point Jessi).
Blackswan are flopping?! Girl please stfu🙄. This is what happens when people don't use their brains. If you dislike them, cool but to just say things like they are flopping isn't so smart of you.
Do you research well, I know you are probably angry about cravity being in 30% of the documentary but check properly, blackswan is not flopping, they are not doing as well as big 3 groups or well known groups, but considering the company, the lineup changes, the controversies they are still doing well. Some of their achievements with the new lineup 1. They performed in the World Hockey Championship in India 2. Performed in waterbomb Korea. 3. Walked in Seoul Fashion Week. 4. They got a collaboration with Mixsoon 5. They had an American fan meet (though unpaid for) 6. They performed in waterbomb Dubai. 7. Got a collaboration with Dyson 8. They performed in a Korea X India music event 9. Got invited to a fashion show in last week's Seoul Fashion Week. 10. Fatou was an MC in Simply Kpop last year. 11. They are performing in a Chinese festival on the 15th 12. Though they have not won any music awards, Karma and Roll up were well received, Roll up charted well on Apple dance music charts (though they were not no 1), it is a big deal for a "different and controversial" group like blackswan and if you watch their double down stage, they had the audience doing their fan chant. I understand that you may measure "flopping" differently from how I measure it but considering all the drama they are still doing a lot And yes they have fans and supporters.
It was miscommunication. Leia missed her family so much, so she was emotional. She wasn't able to express herself and what she felt properly. On the other hand, Fatou quickly assumed that Leia was disrespecting her family without considering her situation. Moreover, they didn't talk properly and the other group members didn't help mediate, from what I understand in the documentary. Each person needs to show mercy and love. After all, they are in a group.
I would have been with you on the miscommunication had Leia and her mom not bullied fatou. Let her fans be racist towards her. Liked their comments etc. Is was wild behavior
Lol so fatou's way to respond and deny the bullying allegations was to… expose leia and really cause cyberbullying. Smh. How can you possibly be okay with Fatou saying NASTY things Like “you mess with my family, you're my ENEMY” Like Girl?? So… Thats how you react to conflicts? And also, saying that she missed and loved the other korean members knowing from day 1 those women were not happy with foreign members. Sorry, thats not okay for me. Its not for us to decide if it wasn't or no bullying, but excluding someone from activities, liking nasty comments and always pointing out things to criticize and disdain without being constructive… i mean… if it isnt bullying then its just a disgusting behavior.
You must HATE your family to the BONE. If I disrespected your family in YOUR HOUSE, you're seriously gonna let that slide? Be so for f**king real right now. And ya'll keep saying how she liked nasty comments towards her but never have evidence for it. And the comment about Judy and Youngheun "disliking" the foreign members, you're just loud and wrong asf. When it was announced that BLACKSWAN would have no Korean members, EVERYBODY had the exact same thoughts as the both of them. No one thought they would do good without any Korean members some even going as for as to that they should disband because there's no Korean members. So other people are allowed to think this way, but when they do the same they're in the wrong? GIRL BYE- 👋🏾
You sound so dumb, the Korean members hate the foreign girls?? How? They literally still interact with them to this day, they follow the blackswan members. Fatou was invited to youngheuns freaking wedding. This strange idea that leia was persecuted for being foreign is so odd cause genuinely leia looks like an Asian person, I mean she’s wasian for Christ sake, Koreans themselves wouldn’t immediately go oh she’s a foreigner unless they were told. They’d probably think she’s just another Asian person. Fatou is a dark skinned black African woman, youngheun and Judy had no issues with her, they treated her like a friend and defended her and still do, but apparently they’re racist towards the wasian person in the group because they refuse to put up with her bad personality. Sure
2:56 though i love jessi, i would have to say that "yang joon il" did that first. (He was from the 90s) Was Korean American, Hardly spoke any Korean but was something special. Now, i cant not give jessi her props because of the fact that most people probably have no idea who he was and so for idols nowadays, She definitely made it more accessible to become a kpop idol as a Korean American. And helps bring and keep the more modern American trends to korea and make them adaptable to herself and kpop
I was actually really interested in watching this documentary, but didn’t get the time🥲 Thank you so much for making this episode wise summary of the whole thing, I could listen to it as a podcast!🙌🏻
I’m sorry but let’s not glaze over what Judy and Younguen were saying they were basically mad that they got over a situation that had nothing to do with them and then pulling the Korean card and saying they wouldn’t be successful I get the anger but was the extra nesscessary tho. Made me side eye them.
Exactly... younguen and Judy wanted an apology from leia but when the ceo told younguen to help mend fatou and Leia's relationship because she's the leader, all of a sudden, it has nothing to do with them?? Also, she is THE LEADER. She's supposed to glue the members together.. not literally but... you get what I mean.
@@andyandys5356 I get what you mean. But if Fatou is like the father, she should've been like the mother. at the end of the day, she was the leader so she should've acted like it..
@@Sapphire_Ace That is a great point. You can't be mad over something you were trying to avoid doing. And she still expect an apology maybe because of the trouble she put the group in but they are from different cultures. In the west if there's any trouble between 2 people in a group, the people around them might try to have them mend their disagreements but the apologies will only be among the 2 of them.

How was Leia able to turn a heart warming reunion between fatou and her mother into a pity party for herself??🙄🙄. I’m sure blackswan would have had a concert in brazil where in the future too and leia wood have been able to see her family. i dont think the company would be allowed to mention or show any of the other trainees that no longer work with them on something like a tv show. technically they'd be profitting off of their images without their contratual consent. im not a legal expert in any way tho, this is just common practice on the entertainment industry me thinks

Its because fatou isn't a purely korean group so the koreans don't give a shit. If its korean groups speaking korean this doc will not fly
this is why i don’t take kpop seriously anymore and am slowly losing interest in it. debuting people that can’t even do their main job properly, dancing and singing, and also risking the health of your trainees by making them lose 15 pounds in 2 weeks is insane
honestly something i noticed as a new kpop fan last year is that i would listen to the most trash song just because my fav group made it.

I think Jessi opened her own label called NUNA
I could never feel sorry for Leia & her mom. There was a million other ways to handle this situation and it could have been talked about with her company but they chose not too. Good Riddance!
Leia wasted everyone’s time.

From my perspective, Leia appears to be quite manipulative and has a notable ego. While her mental health challenges were highlighted, I believe other members were affected by her actions and claims. I understand she was struggling, but that doesn’t excuse her behavior. I have empathy for her situation, yet I still believe her actions were unjustifiable.
yeah at the time witnessing the fallout she seemed bitter and jealous especially of Fatou, wouldn’t be surprised the fact she had no notable talent when she became a trainee would’ve gave her an inferiority complex to the other members who actually had something
the way her fans after she lied on Fatou’s name first calling her a bully immediately were so racist to Fatou and Leia just watched, and then accused the other 2 korean members alongside her mom of bullying her too, the story changing like immediately

I don’t understand the whole back & forth- she wants to go, she’s not a great singer or dancer, all 3 of the other girls are better visuals, why are we talking abt her 💀
GIRL NEVER MIND SHES 23 LMFAO WE ARE THE SAME AGE
Anyway naturally, love the drama. Bring leia back to start more shit
@@SQeesqEE-gh3uz Fatau was suicidal and almost did it because of the issue, its not a uwu drama to be excited about, a human life was about to be gone
Black swan is doing great without them, all their comeback were 💣 so far.
Besides that, really enjoyed the video while being quite informative
bulleted list of my thoughts (only the cravity part though since they're the only one i actually follow, this might be long because i am honestly mad hahaha)
- we already know that sse higher ups barely acknowledged and uplifted the boys spirits during their debut era, but the fact that their very own manager (at 19:00) is not even giving them any positive remarks despite 2 years of hard work is appalling.
@aouzayr24seu cu
@aouzayr24 It's not even about being lazy, brazilians in general are pretty hardworking, the issue is the lack of discipline and overall type of mentality nurtured here. It's hard to explain, but nothing justifiies or explains Leia's actions other than she sucks. Sure, depression explains the struggle with practicing and everything, but her behaviour in Fatou's house and after is horrendous.
que vergonha vc vir em inglês falar que seu país todo é preguiçoso. Coisa feia
The Brazilian Trainee in Dream Academy got backlash for liking Posts on social Media that were perceived as racist against Indians, not for her conduct. Before the backlash, she was doing quite well on the Missions and Fan voting.
@@PookasoulI think that’s why they said messy. They gave an example for that.
Wow Fatou has proven to not right her off. As well as Blackswan will be successful
baby vox ahhhh!!! i didnt know blackswan was from the same people omg
53:52 Allen's family's from Taiwan so his dad stayed in Taiwan to work. not Korea
my mistake, thank you for clarifying 😊
jessi's family is the best 😊 im not crying you are

Great video! It would be great to see another one of these for the other documentaries!
Thank you so much! 😁💖
looking at the numbers (album sales specifically)- cravity is more popular than monsta x- like by about 55,000 albums (taking 4 million albums sold in 9 years in korea and 2 million in 4 years) like starship wtf crunch the numbers they’re like on the same level album sales wise theyre doing well get out!!! ugh
i don’t really know either group for context so i was looking at sales of albums- monsta x stans nothing against them! i was trying to make a point that cravity is not a disappointment or a flop like their company had kept saying like were cravity supposed to sell four million albums immediately? it took monsta x ages and theyre on the same curve (cravity is having the same sales curve that monsta x had/is also having)
monsta x's income mostly came from their world tours, they didn't had as much korean fans in 2018-2019 as they do now so their album sales were at 200-250k per release (only reached the 400k mark during their 2nd peak at 2021, but concerts are still their biggest strength). and even though cravity debuted during the pandemic when the sales was skyrocketing due to video call fansigns, they never fell below 150k sales per album so there's really no reason for starship to treat them as disappointment.
@@minhyuklees1bebe902 thank you for further explaining! i’m not a huge boy group person so I was unaware of this and was looking at sales data
Youngeun, girl what do you mean the situation had nothing to do with you so you shouldn't be expected to mediate? You're the leader????
I hope you’ll do made in korea the kpop experience next cause the finale’s next next week and I’m unexpectedly tuning in to the show cause the boys are actually super sweet and the music especially solar is giving me the my 1d whiplash I never knew I needed. Blaise is growing out of his ego and learning how to work with the team, james with his autism, dexter and his diabetes struggles and reese and olly growing out of their comfort zones.
Wait ooooo why am I sold to watch the docuseries just cuz of the cravity mention 😭😭😭😭😭
Fr why can't they just be a regular doc and not docuseries
I like both. Depends on the topic. 😅
ngl this show kind of made me fall in love with Cravity and really want to root for them. the only reason I watch was because I love Monsta X they are my ults and I just wanted to see snippets of them but for real, I enjoyed all the stories.
I wonder what they meant with Leia having had problems with boys? That she had a boyfriend or...😮 I think Jessi quit Jay Park's label already 🤔😊
What is it pronounced envy, I've been calling her n-vee
Yes it’s NVEE but pronounced like Envy.
Jessi looks like Jessica Rabbit in that last episode. Very pretty!
Poor jessi 😢😢😢 and fatu
Leia’s mom needs to grow up and stop acting like a teenage bully! There’s a saying…
“ The Apple doesn’t fall from the Tree. “
someone brought it up already but the comments made by judy and younguen abt the group not succeeding when they left was kinda odd??
I think that Leila has a narcissistic personality, she makes everything about herself and only thinks about herself
I don't see how they were in the wrong thinking the same way 🤷🏾♀️
but what's kopop, kpop is not the fact that they are Korean but rather they sing in Korean for other Koreans who can't speak English to enjoy because kpop is not a new genre of music but rather it's hiphop and pop combined which is why the are Japanese,Chinese,Thailand,Filipino in many kpop groups because it's not exclusive to Korea alone because if that was the case then it wouldn't be so popular like it is now just like how you don't need to be any race to be a rapper, hiphop, rnb, country, rock, classic,Popstar that's what makes music fun so I personally don't think they should disband because they clearly want to make Korea music just like how many Koreans want to make English(black music) these days.
i dont understand Leia's issue. So she disrespected Fatou's mom by saying she missed her home and would like to leave? am i getting it right?
They will not tell everything, FATOU clearly stated that Leia said hurtful words and LEIA apologized, however her mom made the fans believe that the group was bullying her daughter who was not working.
DR music staff said that in kpop idols that do that (not working or rehearse) are kicked out or pay their contract.
+ Money was invested, the survival of the group the livelyhood of the staff.
Nah she said some curses in her post about how she wanted to fking get out of there, which was rude. Then she tried to turn members onto each other
she locked herself in the bathroom for hours, ignored everyone and posted stories complaining about the situation.
She locked her herself in the bathroom for hours then posted on her close friends story "Wow so fucking fun here, I want to leave," Leia such a damn brat
@@JinnnnahI feel
Like she probably did more than that even. Like probably straight said some crazy shit in front of fatou and her family when she finally came out the restroom cause she refused to apologise. Especially cause fatou said leia said a lot of hurtful things, being plural. And fatou mentioned that leia would talk on the phone loud at about how she was gonna destroy the group .
DR was speaking facts on baby vox they weren’t lyrics by about that
I mean Leila messed up big time but the company should've done more for her!
I agree, she always been a problem and their current line up shows that. Even the Korean members disliked her behavior and left.

nooo why would you say we're tired of your voice ? You have a really nice one, and I enjoy listening to it
the whole blackswan situation really confirmed for me that people don't treat kpop idols as human beings, they think they're characters that can be read and are 100% good or 100% evil, no in between.
She's over!
Thanks so much for this break down!

Rania and Blackswan are two different groups,Blackswan is not a rebrand of rania.
Blackswan was once rania, who had a African American member
Nice strategy to edit parts of each documentary together. Instead of each documentary separately and labelled.
Blackswan IS a new group
The current lineup may be, but BlackSwan have been around since 2020, following after Rania of now 13 years
omg a whole deepdive!
who is listening to blackswan though
Who said Jessie paved the way? That's not even accurate. Many Koreans have been successful in America. Earliest is The Kim Sisters. If anything Psy really paved the way for everyone. His song was a massive hit & performed all over America.
Paved the way for Korean-Americans in the Kpop industry as a kind of liaison to America too.
Oh my goodness 1 hour and 23 minutes, thanks so so much for your time in making this video😁😁🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿😊
You sound like Anna from the Netflix show inventing Anna
I feel like the two Korean members that left were kind of feeling some type of way about black swan being a kpop group without Korean members. Maybe I'm reading too much into it but it came off as xenophobic a little.
No the Korean members said they left because of leia . The Korean members are still friends with fatou gabi and sriya
But like with jessi idk if hee age is the problem ……
How do? With her stage presence or her music career?
She also groped fellow members without consent and they were very uncomfortable, she's overall a bad person
That can’t be ur real accent

Some of their achievements with the new lineup
1. They performed in the World Hockey Championship in India
2. Performed in waterbomb Korea.
3. Walked in Seoul Fashion Week.
4. They got a collaboration with Mixsoon
5. They had an American fan meet (though unpaid for)
6. They performed in waterbomb Dubai.
7. Got a collaboration with Dyson
8. They performed in a Korea X India music event
9. Got invited to a fashion show in last week's Seoul Fashion Week.
10. Fatou was an MC in Simply Kpop last year.
11. They are performing in a Chinese festival on the 15th
12. Though they have not won any music awards, Karma and Roll up were well received, Roll up charted well on Apple dance music charts (though they were not no 1), it is a big deal for a "different and controversial" group like blackswan and if you watch their double down stage, they had the audience doing their fan chant.
I understand that you may measure "flopping" differently from how I measure it but considering all the drama they are still doing a lot
And yes they have fans and supporters.
I skipped every cravity part, boy group are never interesting
Girl sthu
Sure
You do not have to respect people that disrespect the members and the members family. Leia created her own problems and made it everyone elses.
That's a weird take from all of this...Just curious, do you Leia is also in the wrong or just Fatou?

though i love jessi, i would have to say that "yang joon il" did that first.
I was actually really interested in watching this documentary, but didn’t get the time🥲
Thank you so much for making this episode wise summary of the whole thing, I could listen to it as a podcast!🙌🏻
Wait a DAMN minute…DRmusic .,,,DR.FEELGOOD ……..EEWWW😂😂😭😭😭🗣️🗣️🗣️
@@Sapphire_Aceshe said earlier Fatou is like the father of the group so maybe she's only leader by name and it's fatou making most of their decisions
