I'm planning to pick one of these up in the next month but was a little worried about it being too much for an everyday trailbike--your review lets me know I'm making a good decision. Thanks. for the great review.
Better to have mtb with much more capable than your daily-trail because who knows when and where you gonna go not to mention skill will improve overtime
Totally depends on what you're riding daily, I guess! If you're riding typical PNW steep and rooty stuff, I imagine it's probably a good pairing. Good luck finding one!
What are your everyday trails like? I have one of these bikes and I absolutely love it. It is actually mind blowing on rough and steep terrain and is pretty similar to my previous 160mm travel 27.5 bike in smoother flatter terrain (but it rolls faster with the big wheels), but there are certainly bikes out there that will ride better on less demanding terrain. Basically I'd say this--if your trails take you to the top of the hill and then you bomb back down, its a great bike, but if your trails meander across the hill and are more undulating, a snappier bike like the Smuggler would be a better bet.
Great review. Appreciate it. I have a Sentinel and my son just got a Patrol. Even though my son's Patrol is a size large and I ride a medium, I plan to ride both soon to see which one I prefer. I know this video is about a year old, but I'm curious of your thoughts of the Sentinel vs the Patrol today. Thanks.
I,bought a '19 sentinel in late October anf love it. I finally found a bike that feels like a dh bike. I could never find a bike that felt right cuz from riding dh bikes i am,use to being up over the front and would wash out. This bike feels so good! I have not changed my body postion at all and feel faster on,this then my enduro Ohlins coil! Great reveiw.
@@freehubmag There was one for sale and I searched for reviews. I picked one up at lunchtime. It has a few upgrades, Zee 4 pot f+r, hope wheels+hubs, renthal carbon bar, etc. I love it and glad I bought it. Was worried about it being too much bike like a few others have said but your video showed me what this bike is all about. Keep up the good work!!!
Hi, does it give your knees any issues having a steep seat tube angle basically putting knees too much forward ie: knees would go passed the end of crank arms as if you pushed your saddle too forward! Hope it make sense! Above is big issue for me on my patrol or might just need more time on it...!!
How tall are you? I'm about to pull the trigger on one, but I'm 1.89m tall & fit inbetween. I'm thinking L as the reach is 475 which is the same as my Process 111 L, but I'm not sure if SBG might be a factor to consider the XL.

I got the nx alloy sentinel so good
Transition sentinel or devinci Spartan?
transition sentinel is a more do everything bike and that's the reason i will be buying it in near future
