That is funny my DPX2 on my 2018 had the same knocking type noise. Transition has Fox service it. I haven't tried it as I picked an X2 while I was waiting for it to come back.
Love everything about it. Too bad there isn't a 27.5 version of it. At least there's the Scout. It's got a half degree steeper HA and 10mm less travel in the front and rear, but at least I won't have to deal with the tire rubbing my butt.
The Scout is literally the Sentinel as a 27.5 bike. You can swap the shocks from the Sentinel to the Scout and vice versa. Run the Sentinels 62.5 stroke shock and the Scout has 150mm out back. Bump the Scouts fork to 160, which just requires a 160 air shaft for 40$, and the Scout is the 27.5 version of the Sentinel.
Norco sight and Transition Sentinel each have a 150mm rear suspension stroke and have different damper lengths NS 52.5mm and TS 62.5mm as calculated, although the suspensions are probably the same?
@@pinkbike Great video, how do you compare the transition sentinel with the Commencal Meta TR 2021 that you have recently reviewed? Which one is more playful and inspire more confidence on the descents? Many thanks
Hi. Do you have experience with Marin alpine trail c2? I want to buy a Transition Sentinel and discovered Marin. The geometry is almost the same on paper, the Marin is only 1 cm longer in the front and 1 cm shorter in the rear, to put it simply (the reach is a centimeter longer and the chain stays are a centimeter shorter... And the price of the Marin is unbeatable... Thanks a lot for the answer, Pavel.
Will Transition be brining out a new model of this? I'm in the UK and it's out of stock everywhere - only their alloy bikes seem to be available these days.

What things should be considered when getting ready to buy a new full suspension mountain bike? In other words, I think I'm going to buy one via internet or mail order bike, but I'm coming from a 2017 Santa Cruz Chameleon which a hard trail bike. My Santa Cruz is a blast to ride so should I consider something with similar numbers when it comes to geometry? I'm just afraid of buying something online without actually having the opportunity to test it first like you do in our local bike shops. Thanks in advance.
Does it have a drain hole on the bottom of the downtube? I’ve got a Carbon scout from a few years ago and that’s my major issue with it... no drain hole, living in Scotland the bike needs a wash pretty much every time it goes out, if you absentmindedly spray the head tube with the hose the frame fills up with water - my old bandit had one so it obviously something transition did, no idea why they stopped...
Question: I have a Giant Reign with 180mm Travel in the front. This is how I purchased it second hand. The thing is a nightmare to climb as expected. I was wondering if installing say 160mm shocks up front would make a difference to uphills or will it not actually effect it due to the head angle. Basically what I want to know is, is my problem head angle or shock travel? Thanks :)
