Wow, I didn't know Kamala had the same Holistic Thought Advisor as my ex! Man, she could really put a lot of words together... and it always gave people the feeling that it meant _something,_ but it was never clear what exactly.
And therein lies the genius! Everyone nods sagely & thinks "Man, that is SO deep, so true, I really get it". Nobody gets it because it's mumbo-jumbo, but no one admits that, lest they seem 'stoopid' 😊

I miss political comedy where it was possible to pick on innocuous traits and raise them to something funny, rather than just repeating exactly what they say. It was referencing the unknown unknown of terrorists hijacking planes and crashing them into buildings, something completely out of the realm of what anyone could have anticipated at that time. To justify the invasion of Iraq. As in "we now know that really bad things can happen that no one can currently conceive of, thanks to 911. So we gotta get rid of this bad hombre". 911 taught them there were unknown unknowns, where previously they only considered known unknowns.

As time passes, it is significant. In traveling, you need to get to where you need to go to do the work you need to do. The more time that passes, the older you are. It's not about the words; it's about the tongs and the dressing you toss them with, and the bowl tinging mysteriously with each stirring. This way you can unburden the present with the cloudy thoughts of what has already happened.

At first, the “just because we’ve seen it or not doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened” - paired with the laughter - reminded me of that press conference 20 years ago where Rumsfeld said “there are things we know, things we don’t know, and things we don’t know we don’t know” … until I thought about it for a moment.
These two statements - as ridiculous as they sound on first listen - they actually DO make sense.
Maybe I’m just slow and didn’t realize that before? Maybe everyone else already knows that?
