Ninth volume great show. Listening to these since I was eight years old. Now I’m 50 plus. Thanks so very much
Me too. I’m 56. I now appreciate them a bit more.
Same here, I am 57. My mother allowed me to "hide" my radio under the blankets when I was supposed to be sleeping.
Listened 6/6/2023 while on a 2.5 mile walk. Such a kick hearing them talk about the future, 1998. Many things at play here: friendships, reputations, chasing profits, scholarship, intuition, and history. There! So many hints it will be difficult to add them up to anticipate the finale well before it happens.
I agree Chuck Missler talks about the future and different dimensions very fascinating. I enjoyed your comment.
Greetings from Ireland. Thank you for uploading this. It is Friday, the 26th of August 2022 @10.28 am. ☘️🇮🇪☘️❤️🏠❤️
Binge listening during pandemic😷 Dec 2020. Oakland CA
2019,dec. And 1998 was the future at the time of this writing
I can remember when I was in 3rd grade in 1969 and we were talking about the year 2000, I really thought that was so far away (I guess it really was) and now it is 2020.
And now it's 1/5/2022.
@@christopherkirkpatrick6177 and now 4-12-2023.

Thank you for great listening stories, easy to unwind to at bedtime.
This channel should be prescribed by doctors for those who need to switch off and relax naturally at night. Thanks so much.
You're welcome, glad you like it.

8 July 2024 - Good tale. Listening from Kentucky, USA.
Heard this on Dec 30th 1977.
So did I. I have my original casette tape recording of this very program from before I was a teen.
Excellent. Thank you so much... this brings back so very many memoirs and stirs my old imagination. Thanks again!
David Creasey ~ You're welcome, always good to get the memories and imagination flowing.
one of my favorites. (heard it first on cassette in the 80s ^^;; ) thanks!
A 12 billion year old shaggy dog story. A blunt tease.
Great episode and I like the illustrations you add to your videos. Thanks:)
rig played good in this episode
Amazing episode, gave me the chills.
Great memories hearing these-- thank you 100%
Thank You 🌏
These stories make you think, don't they, is their a possibility, will something like this actually happen🤔, my mind just goes haywire 😊.
This one was good
Really good one. Love a happy ending
very cool ep.. thanks a bunch chilly one your the coolest::::::::::::::
Thanks James.
I think the book had a pandemic, civil unrest and a world bracing for a civilization at the cusp of A.I but controlled by Neanderthals.
1/4/2022
4-12-23 Yeah, this world is still messed up! Everything did a 180 while we weren’t lookin’
Thanks great mystery
Am I hearing the F word at 32:33?
I think it is and I actually heard the word very clearly on another program and could not believe it! Because I grew up when you never heard any type of bad word on TV or radio and rarely ever even heard people use curse words unless you were in a rough setting.
Wow. I have heard the f word several times in my life, I'm not sheltered. But I was shocked when I heard this considering the time. I was born in 76 and didn't hear this word uttered on public broadcast until the late 90s.
My wife says to her it sounds like he says "sharky" what are you saying?"
I have my own casette recording of this show from the original airing. He said "Sharkey", not the F-word.
Sounds like it has been modified or garbled. For a family-focussed program, "Sharkey", would have been appropriate. Unlikely that CBS would have allowed a recorded show to air with foul language. A live performance would be a different situation, e.g., Charles Rocket on SNL....
Excellent!
Great story
fun story
❤❤❤❤❤ from England
Awesome
Best one is Ghost plane
📚📚📚thank you
Happy Halloween ❣️ 🎃 👻

I no this is going to be good nay very good cuz a certain Mr. Robert Dryden is in it and that's enough for me!!
Why didn't he take a camera down the second time??
Are you for real??? Lol. Killjoy
😮😮😮
Listened
Ha, ha,ha. How enjoyable.
*** SPOILERS!!! ABANDON SURPRISE AND SUSPENSE ALL YE WHO ENTER HERE!!! ****
Although the question posed by the conclusion is a compelling one, the required suspension of disbelief doesn't relieve the writer of attention to some details, and there will always be late-day/ Monday morning critics! Perhaps time restrictions precluded such a story review. I have the "benefit" of quarantine!
1. How do John & Sharkey survive in an oxygen deficient environment while running a generator? Little to no fresh air, no SCUBA gear and (possible) CO exhaust usually equal asphyxiation.
2. Did John actually taste the stuff emerging from the sink tap? not a very scientific or even intelligent thing to do. Lends to doubts about his mental state.
3. Sharkey's sandwich bag wasn't vacuum sealed/ airtight or, presumably, clean enough to preserve a scientific sample of the material.
4. Assuming there were running lights in the mine, why not take a camera, as a previous poster noted? Wouldn't that be easier than trying to transport a container with a vacuum seal?
5. In the end, who was wiser, Sharkey the "simple" rig operator, or John, the curious scientist? If we knew what was to come, would we really improve for the sake of humanity or even ourselves? Did John's compulsion to change the future ironically lead to his own destruction? Would we really do better if we knew better?
We know what is to come and we’re not improving our destructive ways, anywhere in the world, so there is your answer to that.
Another episode where the actors should
be in an old western not a futuristic story
Would the air travel down four miles that quickly?
This one was good
