Wait, you know LOTM? If not, read it, is one of the best novels I have ever read, I haven't finished it but it's really cool, best way to describe it is "normal guy playing the rol of God" and also "tarot cards"
i just started watching it, i love the new look but much has not happened yet... do u know what happens? on second dont spoil me just a yes or no will do 😅
She was most likely following the literature of the era, which invented the Fainting Trope. But. Victorians invented vibrators and had a nipple piercing trend, while also having a heart attack over women wearing high heels. So they really weren't that different from us.
Honestly, the Manga set this up so well. Undertaker is always hanging around, somewhere in the background. You never suspect him, because he is such a silly character, but when the reveal comes, it makes total sense
I literally agonised at myself for not realising it sooner! Dude works by the graveyard, he seems to linger around, AND he looks the part. Why would he be some insignificant random guy? The reveal was basically all of our braincells connecting the pieces 😭
"It's almost as if he's the main villain in this story." Because he is. Also prepare yourself for the Public School arc. Not going to spoil, but we are'nt done with Ubdertaker yet.
@The.Reality I love that theres clues in the very beginning that Ciel has a brother. Mainly the flashback scene when the one dude first met Ciel and wanted him.
@@MeisterSchwabbo the thing is once you reveal a character is actually the main villain of the story, you cna't just make him goofy and silly again, the reveal only works once
I mean he is still very goofy in some moments. Now more of a creepy acting his old persona. I do feel like it's worth it though. Especially Blue Memory reveals are really great and they wouldn't be possible, if this hasn't happened.
What made Lizzy the way that she is was Victorian Society and it's views of the ideal woman - despite Queen Victoria being the one in charge. And it got reinforced by what that Ciel said back then - that he'd be scared of her if she had any strength. Our Ciel is not that.
The ending of Season 3 isn't supposed to be the start of Ciel's reverse-redemption, it just served as a reminder that he isn't really a good person, he can do good but he can do bad just as easily... It was also a hysterical breakdown (😭)
Agreed, also I feel like there was an understandable reason for what he did. In the Book of Circus those kids very well might have been unsaveable, so in a sense it was a mercy kill.
I think there even more to it. He saw himself go through it and probably thought "Wow, that f*cked me up forever, better not let that happen again". Which means if he had survived without Sebastian and their pact, he probably would've rather die than trying to live with this.
Once we learned how horrofying and sad Ciel's past is, it makes sense why he laughed and had that mental breakdown when he saw that the orphanage didn't exist. He had a little faith and when he saw that it was a lie he remembered how disgusting humas are.
Ciel is shown a couple times in the anime and regularly in manga to be fearful of Sebastian due to the nature of their contract. In this movie Ciel is genuinely dissociating when Sebastian is killing all the zombie in the cargo hold because it reminds him too much of their initial meeting and first order. It is still left up to interpretation how much Sebastian actually cares about Ciel besides him being his eventual meal. In book of circus we saw him abusing Ciel's order by freeing the snakes early even though he knew Ciel was there. I love how complicated their relationship is!
I still find it funny when people talk badly about Ciel from what they see in the current shows (whilst still understanding his backstory is sad and horrible) - and then there's the manga, revealing how horrible it truly was and silencing everyone
@@z2yn Moreover, according to the creator, Ciel is like this not only because of his past, but because from the very beginning he had a predisposition to the "evil" side of his character and had Sebastian's upbringing.
@@justauser6078 The fact is though that Ciel knows he is absolutely unhinged, he doesn't justify anything about himself (and neither should we, trauma is nothing more than a cause). He does his best to keep the people he cares about safe, but that is all the compassion he has.
The Green Witch arc shows Sebastian's feelings pretty well in my opinion. Low key scared me for a minute and I genuinely hope we get it in the anime one day.
Oh Danny, you'd be really glad if you like the real "Sebastian " so much. The manga makes it clearer but Sebastian doesn't see any of the humans he is around as "people ". The author of Black Butler calls Sebastian a complete self-centered narcissist who thinks of everyone else as grasshoppers. This whole " Butler" thing and him improving his acting skills. Sebastian is not one hell of a butler , he is one hell of an actor. He is so bad at cooking early on because he can't even taste human food. The only thing he can taste is a soul. He doesn't understand empathy, he is merely using his experience with humans in understanding their reaction patterns. He doesn't feel human emotions, he imitates them. The anime kinda messed it up early on but he even enjoys when Ciel suffers, he even enjoys when Ciel makes others suffer. He is a hungry demon who is passing time playing and tormenting his pet lamb while fattening him up for dinner
I'm still very amused by people who truly believe that Sebastian truly cares about Ciel and they have a sort of "father-son" dynamic. Maybe it could look like this, and Ciel could unknowingly see Sebastian as a father figure (but still understand that he is a demon who cannot be completely trusted - and even Sebastian's words that he never lies are due to the contract situation of "never lying" to Ciel ) because Sebastian is the only adult "man" who is constantly by his side and constantly protects him. But Sebastian definitely does not see Ciel as his son.
Scenes I wish had made the cut 1. Sebastian rising out of water, dripping wet 2. Lizzy attacking Grell 3. Sebastian memory, calling ciel his little master walking towards darkness proudly.... 4. Sebastian fighting horde of zombies alone on the Isolated lifeboat with ciel(ciel doesn't count as help, Sebastian leaves him alone for 2 minutes and he gets into life threatening danger. He's useless physically)😂😂😂😂
If I may add: -Snake expressing how uncomfortable he feels when people gawk at him -Ronald cutting the initial fight with Sebastian short because he’s trying to rush work. -Grell getting pissed at the Viscount and eviscerating zombies to get to him (because that was amazing) -the glass falling in the ballroom after Grell hit the ceiling (so pretty) -Undertaker telling off Rian in the classiest way possible (because morals!) -William chastising Ronald and Grell (because it establishes the new priorities of the Reapers)
Since Danny mentioned it I feel I should clarify! Those wooden stakes the Undertaker uses are called sotoba. They’re used in traditional Japanese graveyards. They themselves aren’t graves but they’re placed near gravestones. They have engravings on them of prayers and dates of death.
YEP its why noone calls them zombies or knows what to do about them or what the fuck is going on. Cause the idea of a flesh eating zombie hasn't become mainstream at this point XP
@@alllittlethingzzor maybe their parents named them after Ciel from Black Butler? We are of the age to have kids and drink alcohol... so like... maybe...
@@rusalaquarina3515Wait i'm confused. Being french myself, Ciel is the word for "Sky" in french. So not really a color by itself but we do have a light blue we call "Sky blue" ("Bleu Ciel")...So maybe you were thinking of that.
She really does. I would watch a whole ass show if she was the main character with William and Ronald as her goofy back up side character. I live for her antics.
23:41 That's actually the point Danny! Every character is a peice on the chest board. Ciel is the King. He can only move one space, therefore he is the weakess but everyone must protect him. Lizzy-Queen, the strongest piece (They changed the line in the English dub but what she supposed to say is "I am the wife of the queen's guard dog.") Sebastian-Knight The servants- Rook, Bishops Everyone else-Pawns
Danny having such a dislike for Ciel really shows the tragedy of the in-between chapters of the different arcs not being animated These chapters do so much character work overall but it does wonders for Ciel especially Showing how fond he is of Lizzie, his interactions with Francis (Lizzie's mom), Soma and Agni being around him seemingly all the time in the manga He just comes off as really rough and bratty on missions bc he's genuinely having a horrible time in almost every arc He also keeps people at arms length because a. people tend to get brutally murdered if they stay too close to him and b. he probably won't even live to see his fifteenth birthday by the pace he's trying to get his revenge, so the less people care about him the less they'll have to grieve him once he's dead Anyways I've been checking almost weekly if you finally reacted to this movie so I'm really happy to see it finally here, I was sure you'd enjoy it Hopefully you'll watch season 4 next 🫶
@@BeigeRodriguez would be funny if in here, the Titanic was the one to rescue the Campania survivors, but the Titanic still held onto it's original history and they slammed into another ice berg xD
@@firemaiden029 i swear at some point the Green Witch arc was called the Twilight arc just because of the wolves 😂 and the one after that was the Idol arc. Black butler really likes taking us on funny then serious, funny then back to serious arcs.
ok so explanation about us bullying you into skipping the end of season 1: it spoiled that UT was a reaper. Like even in real time, the mangaka had mentioned that direction to the anime writers and they released an episode making him a (still silly and goofy) reaper before she even reached the reveal in the manga
I just hope she doesn't make Victoria the real villain again. Like Bizarre Dolls were in season 1. Same with Joker from Book of Circus. Pluto was just Snake. Angela was Charleses. I hope after all this time she just brings someone new to be the villain or she makes a twist on the original plan. I mean at least they didn't spoil the Blue Memory reveal. Even if it's properly included in Book of Circus and here.
I think the problem that Ciel has with Lizzy is that Ciel knows full well that he will never marry her. He has sold his soul to the devil, he will die as soon as his contract is completed. And every moment he is nice to Elizabeth will make that hurt more for her. She also probably reminds him terribly of the way things were before all that awful stuff happened to him, and being kind to her must feel incredibly uncomfortable - because he can't be that boy. That boy died the moment he summoned Sebastian. So he can only protect her as best as he is able to - like with holding off the dolls at the very end. Ciel is sometimes actually cruel, but a lot of the cruel things he says are at least partly an act because he decided that day that he would avenge his family and the boy capable of doing that can't really have actual friends and can't afford to believe in the good in people either. So in that way, Ciel is a foil to Sebastian - mean and unkind because he can't afford the pretense of being otherwise. Because for him, the act would become far too real far too soon. And that would cost him everything.
To me, the revelation of Lizzie's true character was the peak moment! I called it way back that there must be something about Lizzie, why she is the Queen's Watchdog's betrothed, and it was so satisfying to finally see her shine! This is one of my favourite Kuro arcs, and _believe_ me, starting from this one it's ridiculously hard to choose! As for Sebastian: he does enjoy the difficulty of being a butler and his and Ciel's back-and-forth, but he is still a demon with a contract for a delicious soul. If he cares for him, then in distinctly non-human way!
I think it was hinted from her very introduction. Remember, she throws Ciel's family ring hard enough to *shatter* it. That's not a normal 13-year-old girl
also fun fact that's never explained super well because the anime Does Not Like to Acknowledge that Lizzie and Ciel are cousins -- Alexis (and Frances) became Ciel's legal guardian(s) upon the death of his parents; should Ciel have not been deemed worthy by the Queen (or should he die) Frances (as Vincent Phantomhive's sister) becomes the watchdog, which is why she's so hard on him; whereas Alexis sees him as a son, not just for being engaged to his daughter; but also for technically being his ward.
If I had a nickel for every time Danny thought a girl character in Black Butler was useless just for that girl character to then turn out to be a pro combatant I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice. In all seriousness, YES THANK YOU FOR FINALLY REACTING TO IT!!! This movie is amazing and I love it so much, such an iconic arc of the series and I'm glad it was made justice. I also have to say you're totally right the Mangaka is giving them a change of clothes whenever she can totally on purpose xD
The slightly chaotic introduction combining Danny's exasperation over Black Butler Fan's feral comments to react to Book of Atlantic + Danny's utter confusion over his blue tongue was unironically hilarious.
Book of Atlantis is truly my favorite arc. It cemented Undertaker as my favorite character and introduced one of my favorite running jokes, "Can we kill [the viscount] yet?" "No, not yet, but I understand your feelings." I can't wait until Danny gets to the private school arc.
The reason why Sebastian has so many Outfits is, that the events of these first minutes actually take several days. It's better explained in the manga. Also the "lobby" they're doing the secret handshake in is not the public ship lobby for everyone but a separate room supposedly filled only with members who know the handshake anyway.
Lizzy's family are all super strong because they are knights. Ciel is actually a pretty good marksman, but anime version nerfed him. There is whole chapters about Ciel's relationship with his aunt and uncle/ in-laws. Yeah. Lizzy's mom is his paternal aunt.
The shift is Sebastian’s VA’s voice is wild. He has such an incredible range. Pretty sure he’s also the VA for Scar in Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.
I cackled when Danny said Lizzie was 'the most useless person on the ship right now' b/c I KNEW what was coming. Kinda surprised tho that it took till the Iceberg for him to realize that this was just, Titanic but with zombies. I mean, Blue Star Line, White Star Line, a large luxury passenger cruise ship crossing the Atlantic to New York. In April. At the turn of the century (date's off by about 23 years but w/e). Like yeah, yeah this is BB Titanic lmao
The Black Butler reactions honestly came at a perfect time b/c we JUST got a whole new season after uh, 7 years. So now he'll have MORE Black Butler to react to later.
To be fair 7 years is not much. Series is monthly manga and we had multiple theatre plays and some art exhibitions. And obviously Book of Atlantic movie. I do think it Blue Saga ends up being the final part of the series - we probably will gonna see more adaptations in upcoming years. No risk of catching up is important, especially with what anime production did with season 1, where they spoiled every character and element between Book of Circus up to Book of Atlantic.
I really hope that one day they do the Emerald Witch arc because in my opinion it'll give you almost all of what your looking for in Sebastian and Ceils characters, in plot while still keeping some of the goofyness.
Since they're keeping the public school arc quite short apparently, hopefully they will do Green Witch arc and perhaps even the two arcs after all though they'll then have to pull back for a bit after because the latest arc is still on going.
22:51 She's actually been better than her brother at sword fighting since she was like 5, but acts cute because Ciel was afraid of her when he was fresh from his human trafficking cult
Am I the only one who always loved Ciel? 😭😭 I never understood it as fragile masculinity, moreso that Ciel feels really bad that he's not as strong as he wants to be and has to rely on other people. Also I feel like Ciel's bratty behaviour makes sense considering he is 12y/o, grew up rich and spoiled, has a very traumatic past, has always had a "weak" body/poor health (ie. His asthma) - so his behaviour kinda makes sense. Obviously he's not perfect, he definitely has his flaws. Idk I just always really liked him as a character. I actually prefer him over Sebastian, which I guess is a really unpopular opinion.
@@Solarstormflare I totally agree! but even before I read the manga, I kinda preferred Ciel - but in the end it doesn't really matter I guess, everyone likes different kinds of characters and it's understandable why people would dislike Ciel.
I prefer Ciel as well! He is my favorite character in the whole show. What he lacks in physical strength he makes up for with his wit, cunning, mental fortitude, lowkey good acting skills, manipulation, and the occasional moment where he is actually quite sweet (telling Snake his skin isn’t something to be ashamed of, the fact that he didnt really have to start a toy company but he did anyways to fulfill his childhood dream, etc).
NO NO BUT SAME. ciel has always been my favorite, both 8 years ago when i first got into black butler and now that i'm rewatching it because of danny. i _get_ why sebastian is so popular and why ciel isn't, but i'm totally with you on this. ciel definitely is very flawed as a person and i guess some people can't get past that, but honestly that complexity is exactly what makes me adore him so much.
I am crying. It took Danny almost 20 minutes to realise it was a Titanic arc. Also Danny having the absolute hots for Sebastian in this is everything! I am so glad you enjoyed this one!
Love how when Danny first sees Ronald he specifically calls out his eyes but doesn't make the connection that they're grim reaper eyes until he sees the lawnmower lol
I loved the insight on Sebastian's thoughts toward Ciel, I loved it clearly spelled out that his dedication is always only in indirect service to himself, and not out of genuine affection. The way I've always seen it, it's like when I was a kid and had friends that raised cows and pigs for slaughter. They were fond of the animals, but that didn't prevent them from being eaten. Sebastian at most has that same sort of fondness for Ciel that one might have raising a lamb or a calf to be slaughtered, though it's tempered by the outright contempt he had for Ciel in the beginning.
The thing is, if ciel gets redeemed before the contract is done, Sebastian will eat him as the contract needs ciel to follow a dark path and be miserable throughout it. If ciel wants to be redeemed and escape the fate of being eaten, he has to find a way to make his contract non applicable. No spoilers here please, for me and if danny sees this
19:02 Seeing Danny going from excited to see grill to slowly a look a disgust from the innuendo will never not be funny to me That’s a meme worthy face right there
So a bit of a history lesson: Campania WAS actually Titanic's sister ship and WAS closer to the Titanic when it was hit, however they never answered (for known or unknown reasons I forget) so the guys talking about a distress signal from the ship ahead was them getting the Titanic's distress call and getting eaten before they could deliver it.... Altho irl the Campania sunk years later
The Titanic sank in 1912 and this is set in 1889 so I don’t think that’s what it was. It was probably just another ship seeing the iceberg and warning them I didn’t know that there was an actual ship called campania though
I don't mean to be rude but this is untrue. While the Campania was a real ship she was not related to the titanic, they were built by different company's almost 20 years apart. The Titanic and her sister ships, the Olympic and the Britannic were built by white star lines and the Campania was built by Cunard line. Although in the anime their actually receiving a warning about the iceberg not a distress call, irl the Olympic did get one but was to far away to be of help to the titanic. That last statement is true though the Campania did out live the titanic (sunk april 15 1912) and sink in a collision with the HMS revenge in 1918. I was really into the titanic as a kid so i have a couple books on it hah, had to google that bit about the Campania though.
@@marcyb3ar214 you know what you are right, I was confusing the Californian with the Campania..... TBH I was a little confused about why the sister ship was with it but I was thinking of the nurse that survived the sinking of all three (or something like that) I took was obsessed with the Titanic... But also other naval disasters so they got jumbled... The Californian was closer but bc the Titanic's wireless signal was out they never got the msg but the ship that did actually come either did get it or got something else and came as fast as possible
All the praise Danny gives to the animation in this movie, which is quite good, and the different Sebastian outfits, I can't wait for him to watch the Public School Arc.
0:35 I’m call shenanigans 13:45 again- calling shenanigans 18:49 omg danny 21:43 the cinematic shot Danny think of the shot 22:52 agreed 28:38 SURPRISE
It definitely seems to me like eating masters' souls is the epitome of human-demon connection at least to Sebastian. It seems like any fondness he develops is a means of either marinating or savoring his meal. Sebastian gives me the vibe devouring a promised soul wouldn't be an act of a lack of sentiment, but the natural conclusion of him caring about someone. Like "what closer bond could you have with someone than consuming them so they become a part of you" sort of vibe, except literally because it's soul based.
Lizzie being a badass is SO iconic and is GREAT and took me by surprie too. I too didn't thin too much of her in the anime but seeing her show that she's ACTUALLLY cool and just pretending because she misunderstood ciel made her REALLY cool. Just seeing this little crybaby become stone cold and mrudersome zombies ALONE makes this a worthwhile arc. and yeah we've seen moments that show that ciel at least cares about lizzie despite finding her annoying. She's basically his morality pet, the one thing stopping him going too far across the line.
Just wanted to mention: Ciel has cared about Elizabeth since the start, lol. A lot of people aren't so sure on shipping them because of how they're cousins, but they do have a bond and actually quite a good relationship. Also! I'm not quite sure about this myself, but I don't think Sebastian can simply TURN into smoke. It was supposed to be a play with effects and kind of represent the anger of his true inner demon. And! Fun fact, the food Sebastian "made" was actually stuff he just kind of made appear. It's one of his powers but Ciel makes him cook manually all of the food he makes XD Also, Undertaker is still silly and goofy, I promise.
Ciel and Lizzy are cousins, yes. Canonically. And actually, Sebastian’s true form is pretty much made out of smoke, shadows and maybe blood? So he CAN technically transform in smoke whenever, but considering Ciel wants him to at least try to appear human most of the time, he usually doesn’t do that.
Ciel’a character is built to make you hate him until you realize he pushes others away in fear of harming them with what his title brings. He cares for Elizabeth and soma but won’t allow himself to indulge in their world because of that. We also see that ciel cares too much for Sebastian but is aware that Sebastian wants nothing more than to eat his soul, so he doesn’t give Sebastian the satisfaction of praise and care often. I think Yana did a wonderful job writing him.
Ciel does appreciate Lizzie. He's just push his life's journey toward revenge. He know that at the end he'll die. Why would he want to deeply connect with anyone, or let anyone join that ride. He feels that staying aloof from her protects her from the choices he'll make in the future so she can marry someone else and have a normal life. Also in this movie they fully confirmed that she know that he's the Queen's Watchdog. She's been told that by her family. But it isn't confirmed if they understand what that really means. Remember, Ciel has assassins trying to kill him every single day(attacking the mansion). But we are not told the full reason for it.
15:22 : ''this is the most useless person on the ship right now" me: oh buddy you are in for a hell of a surprise I clicked on this video so damn fast I love Book of Atlantic so much!!! And with the PUBLIC SCHOOL ARC currently airing I am so into it!!
I'm glad you love Sebastian as much as I do. The slicked back look is strictly for when he is in the presence of Elizabeth's mother. But my favorite look for Sebastian is his Professor look from the Public school arc. Which is our now. Undertaker is the not so obvious bad guy in the beginning but from this point onward it's a wild ride.
@@jessicac8090it’s still amazing, but I must warn you: it’s pacing is VERY slow. GFantasy has been giving Yana Toboso less and less pages per chapter, and the manga releases through monthly chapters. For her to be able to explore the story as deeply as she wants, that means we got a 5 year period without Ciel and Sebastian as main characters on any chapter, for example. We just got out of this phase tho, so if you want to catch up to it, the chapters release every 18th.
It’s a great manga and I cannot recommend it enough. 5 years without focusing on your two main characters seems like too much, but I guarantee you’ll devour every one of these chapters and understand why she did that.
The reason the Undertaker and Lizzy twists worked so well, and felt so natural, is because they were foreshadowed from the start. For example, Lizzy's introduction in season 1 has her a) swing Ciel around like a rag doll, b) play dress up with the servants (including Sebastian), and c) hang Grell from the ceiling. It was established that she was super strong early on, but fans didn't pick up on or question it until Book of Atlantic. But, based on what we know from the manga, there's still foreshadowing and character arcs in the works. Book of Atlantic is kind of a breakthrough for them, as the developments in it carry through to later story arcs (not counting the foreshadowing set up in it alone). I'm pretty sure the public school arc is considered one of the more "light hearted" ones (I don't remember much about it), since there's a pattern of alternating light and heavy material, so you might be waiting for a while. But it is worth it in the end, and I look forward to seeing the eventual videos when they come out in, like, a few years.
I went right back to the beginning to sift for Undertaker foreshadowing when we got the Public School Arc announcement and holy SHIT Yana was foreshadowing HUGE plot twists from the Undertaker's first appearance. I'm currently going mildly feral as I try to use some of the stuff he says and does to piece together his big plan. I'm maybe three days away from going full conspiracy board.
What Undertaker here has done is an experiment where he take blank reels and attaches them onto a person's whole life story, the reel then plays a blank slate; the person's life is over as the blank pieces are attached after the ending slide still on the reel; so new memories cannot be formed on the reel because an ending is already written and logged. So you get an undead person, a zombie, who cannot make new thoughts or memories, but who knows their past life. They essentially just move around without a brain caught between life and death. In the same way, If you were to put the beggining of one person's life onto the end of another person and had the whole lives of both uncut on the reel, then you would have a person who lived 2 lives and has died twice. It essentially makes no difference, they are both dead already. The memories of both people are in the body of the most recent individual but both are dead. However, if you were to remove the ending from the reels THEN attach blanks, new memories could be formed onto that reel, allowing the person to live on as long as the reel has more blankspace. This is supposedly how Angels work in black butler... endless white reels, reapers can't kill them. If you were to chop off the ten of Person B's reel and put the beggining of person A onto that 'last scene' before death, and chopped off the end of the second reel wherever you wanted to chop it off so that there is no end on the second reel, then you would have a person who has lived 2 lives, they will have as much time as is left of the second person's life...I have feeling this is how demon's work in Black Butler, they steal time from the people who's souls they eat extending their own lives and having all the memories of the person who they made a contract with, they won't die until they run out of reel. Scenario A: Are people who remember their past lives. Scenario B: 2 lives and 2 deaths logged on one reel; would basically be a soul marriage. Scenario C: Angels Scenario D: Demons
I really love when a show/movie feeds Danny clues to a twist or reveal and he still didnt see it like-- [below are spoilers] the Undertaker being a reaper or when Vaggie was revealed as an exorcist angel. Or when something takes such a left turn and leaves Danny reeling 🤣
My favourite part about the Book of Atlantic was the backstory - I find it funny Sebastian just smiling and his inner thoughts being "I'M GOING TO KILL THIS LITTLE BRAT."

Danny calling Lizzie the most useless person on the ship made me laugh. She definitely isn’t. 😂
And then he saw and his jaw hit the floor so he could fit those words right back in his mouth XD
Exactly what I was thinking!
when he said it in the beginning, i thought "Oh boy, just you wait."
but to be fair, lizzie chose to be dainty and delicate and useless, because she wanted ciel to love her, so she hid her real side
It’s just sad how she acts like she is cause the gender roles and stereotypes of women and girls have to be helpless for men to save them
Can't wait to see the moment Danny realizes Elizabeth is not as useless as she seems. Little badass.
The reaction was everything I dreamed it would be. I'm so happy 😭

What made Lizzy the way that she is was Victorian Society and it's views of the ideal woman - despite Queen Victoria being the one in charge.
And it got reinforced by what that Ciel said back then - that he'd be scared of her if she had any strength. Our Ciel is not that.
This is such a good comment - there will be people who know and people who don't.
Definitely our Ciel isn't that Ciel. He genuinely cares for Lizzy. He was also constantly worried about her through out this arc. It was nice.
When you know Ciels full backstory (manga readers where you at??) It makes so much sense why he acted the way he did 😢
I think there even more to it. He saw himself go through it and probably thought "Wow, that f*cked me up forever, better not let that happen again". Which means if he had survived without Sebastian and their pact, he probably would've rather die than trying to live with this.
@@maelliack8346I know it’s not the same thing but he did mention how he would’ve rather died while he was being abused by the cult!
@@z2yn Your terrible past should not be an excuse for your terrible behavior.
Yesss
That's really why we love him
Danny needs to see this
I'm still very amused by people who truly believe that Sebastian truly cares about Ciel and they have a sort of "father-son" dynamic.

Danny having such a dislike for Ciel really shows the tragedy of the in-between chapters of the different arcs not being animated
These chapters do so much character work overall but it does wonders for Ciel especially
Showing how fond he is of Lizzie, his interactions with Francis (Lizzie's mom), Soma and Agni being around him seemingly all the time in the manga
He just comes off as really rough and bratty on missions bc he's genuinely having a horrible time in almost every arc
He also keeps people at arms length because a. people tend to get brutally murdered if they stay too close to him and b. he probably won't even live to see his fifteenth birthday by the pace he's trying to get his revenge, so the less people care about him the less they'll have to grieve him once he's dead
Anyways I've been checking almost weekly if you finally reacted to this movie so I'm really happy to see it finally here, I was sure you'd enjoy it
Hopefully you'll watch season 4 next 🫶
Exactly. I hate how those chapters are not animated. They're so important for the reasons I mentioned.

ok so explanation about us bullying you into skipping the end of season 1: it spoiled that UT was a reaper. Forgot about that, didn't grell like peek at his face in the reaper place

Him making Titanic jokes super early, then freaking when he realized it was actually the Titanic 🤣
He also feels like an imposter
To me, the revelation of Lizzie's true character was the peak moment! I called it way back that there must be something about Lizzie, why she is the Queen's Watchdog's betrothed, and it was so satisfying to finally see her shine! This is one of my favourite Kuro arcs, and _believe_ me, starting from this one it's ridiculously hard to choose!
As for Sebastian: he does enjoy the difficulty of being a butler and his and Ciel's back-and-forth, but he is still a demon with a contract for a delicious soul. If he cares for him, then in distinctly non-human way!
I remember watching it for the first time and liz redemption arc got me SO HYPE and i look forward to how they are gonna use her in future arcs.

I prefer Ciel as well! He is my favorite character in the whole show. I am so glad you enjoyed this one!
Love how when Danny first sees Ronald he specifically calls out his eyes but doesn't make the connection that they're grim reaper eyes until he sees the lawnmower lol
"I love you but shut up." honestly mood.
No spoilers here please, for me and if danny sees this
And also what happens in the end of Season 3 is not canon.
The Undertaker eye reveal was the most exciting thing to ever happen in my middle school life

The fact that everything Danny wants happens somehow eventually is crazy he literally makes this happen
It was probably just another ship seeing the iceberg and warning them
I didn’t know that there was an actual ship called campania though

Yeah, so, it kinda turns out that Lizzy is a prodigy in a family of master swordsmen. Who’d have thunk it?

On the behalf of the Black Butler fandom, thank you for finally reacting and truly appreciating this
Just wanted to mention: Ciel has cared about Elizabeth since the start, lol.
It’s funny that there’s apprehensions about it when it’s a canon ship and would happen anyway (if not for that one thing)
@@rayvencaws Ohh I see. I thought his demon form was kind of like some deer-wolf creature!

When he finally watches the public school arc he might flip
15:22 : ''this is the most useless person on the ship right now"
me: oh buddy you are in for a hell of a surprise
I clicked on this video so damn fast I love Book of Atlantic so much!!! And with the PUBLIC SCHOOL ARC currently airing I am so into it!!
😂😂 my reaction exactly
I was like, just wait and watch 😎
He been doin stuff with a smurf
PLEASE 😭
Find someone who looks at you the way Danny looked at that iceberg
I'm glad you love Sebastian as much as I do.
The slicked back look is strictly for when he is in the presence of Elizabeth's mother.
But my favorite look for Sebastian is his Professor look from the Public school arc.
Which is our now. Undertaker is the not so obvious bad guy in the beginning but from this point onward it's a wild ride.
you're going to LOVE the emerald witch arc
FUCK YESSSSS THIS MAKES MY LIFE FINISHED
SAMEE
Just so u know Danny; as someone up to date with the manga, we aren’t even close to the end. You are so many arcs behind and the manga is ongoing lmao
Is the manga still good or has it fallen off? Cause it sounds like its gotten pretty long
@@jessicac8090it’s still amazing, but I must warn you: it’s pacing is VERY slow.
@@jessicac8090 18 years, but still going strong
IS2G each manga arc is more unhinged than the last, and combined with the great art Im here for it
2:01 I didn’t expect my current obsession to follow me all the way to RUclips
What chapter are you on?
Lmao fr
@@lh776 chapter 533 (I started like late last month and it has taken over my life it’s my orv 2.0)
@@frogshavehats4994ORV is a masterpiece
IKRRR
It's so weird the fans or the characters didn't question why Grell wasn't dead from being hung up like a piñata.😂
Scenario C: Angels
Scenario D: Demons
I really love when a show/movie feeds Danny clues to a twist or reveal and he still didnt see it like-- [below are spoilers]
the Undertaker being a reaper or when Vaggie was revealed as an exorcist angel. Or when something takes such a left turn and leaves Danny reeling 🤣
Oh my God. He simps for Sebastian.... (ONE OF US!!)
Danny really caught up just before s4 came out just to ghost is ☠️
My favourite part about the Book of Atlantic was the backstory - I find it funny Sebastian just smiling and his inner thoughts being "I'M GOING TO KILL THIS LITTLE BRAT."
GAHHH IM SO EXCITED HES FINALLY REACTING TO THIS PART OF BLACK BUTLER I CANT WAIT TOLL HE REACTS TO THE NEW SEASON!!!
Frrrr me too
Hopefully he does actually react to it lol
