Just discovered this channel and couldn't get over how amazing the $600 boat turned out so I started watching what else there was. I'm going to say that was about 3 hours ago but I'm not mad about it.......... I only wish I had this guys talent. Great videos brother thanks for sharing
👍👍👍👍👍🤜🤛 I used to use diesel oil in my car, even though it wasn’t a diesel engine. I ran it only in the summertime and in the fall I used to change it back to regular oil because the diesel oil would protect the engine better.
Wow! That seller sure has a lot of money to be able to afford to sell that one cheap and just replace it! How much did you pay? Such obvious and easy fixes! You must lead a charmed life! 🔧😉👍
Thank you, Sir! I enjoyed your video, and especially liked what you said about diesel oil in air cooled engines. I didn't feel good putting 5W30 or 10W 30 in my push mower. It looks like you were blessed with a great opportunity in the Hustler, and are doing a great job bringing it up to speed.
I came across your videos very randomly via the RUclips algorithm, I’m assuming. I love watching anything that gets fixed or put back together. Just a BIT of constructive criticism, I too wanted to know what happened with the Scag on the previous video. If you are going to post another project, just let your viewers know you’re still planning on continuing the previous build at the beginning of the next project. That way we know. Other than that, you have yourself a new subscriber. Looking forward to more videos.
14:35 I don't know how a person could do that. Short of the washer falling off and getting folded over the last time the plug was removed. At that point I'd toss the washer and run it if I had to. 16:09 That is an NPT fitting. Kohler does not use NTP drain plugs. I don't think anybody does anymore. You want an o-ring boss/flange face fitting. You are flirting with danger running NTP on a parallel thread. NTP seals by thread deformation. To get the deformation requires a lot of torque. If the fittings are not designed for it... something cracks... or something vibrates loose... and you are deforming threads that should be left alone. 19:14 I've run diesel oil in all engines my entire life. I only stock 5w-40. I'd run it in that hydraulic system without a concern.
What you should do where you put that drain hose just get a piece of old garden hose and wrap up great where it hits the metal then zip tie it on protection
Good find I had same start problem on donated mower starter cable read good voltage and Olms but had a break that someone had taped over would not even click solenoid replaced cable good to go.

use a wrench called a Crows foot that should work to tighten that hose

Will definitely finish the scag 🫡
I would take the plastic off the engine and make sure the fins are clean and clear. As nasty as that was its got to be dirty there too.
Great idea 👍
Brand new mower you git a steal on a great mower.
Great success!
What did you find with the Scag Wildcat bad smoking problem? Great find and fix.
Currently looking for a new motor for it, will be making a final video of it in the future.
You gained a new subscriber
Thank you!

Imagine selling a nice lawn mower over a starter and plug gasket.. that's crazy to me.
I know right! Some people just don’t wanna deal with even minor problems I guess 🤷♂️
Divorce... Death of husband... Came with new property purchase...
Gas filter change out. Good you are going to get the hydro fluid changed.
Great video … thanks for the diesel oil tip… also would love to know what you paid for the mechanics special mower ?
Tank's
I did the same with my raptor
I’m thinking he never serviced it period, hope the compression is good 👍. But it was a good deal and you can fix it up
Possibly but I’m doing a full service on it my self!
It had the Kohler 300 hr kit, or amsoil 10w50 300 hour oil change. The oil he put in will mess up Kohler lifters

I doubt it ??!!

Date and hours on filter
How much did you pay for
I cut grass for a living if you can get that thing running with a new motor that's a good lawn mower.
What’s up with the scag ace?
Working on another video of the scag
Too hard putting it in ??
Hey Guys, How are your nerves after watching this?
I worked for Hustler for 45 years. Get that side discharge chute back on!!
Mind sharing why?
From a safety standpoint, you don't want to risk throwing debris out of the deck and injuring bystanders
@@robertweaver5934 Never run one in my 30 some years...
First
Dang it beat me to it 😅
what a dumb video!
