    Greatest leader who ever lived. I’ve had the honor of seeing him in person during the glorious revolution days. Unfortunately, this great man was murdered by America and their need to destroy anyone who refuses to be one of their puppets. Long Live the revolution. “ We are not in anybody’s backyard.” “Forward ever. Backwards never.” 👊🏾🇬🇩

      Maurice fooled the masses good. The masses had his head right up this bas tards arse and they were enjoying the view. He was a liar and a monster. As a human rights lawyer he should have been dragged before the court of human rights for the abuse of more than 3000 political prisoners he had locked up accused of 'counter revolutionary activities" he and his goons got exactly what he deserved ✴️✴️✴️✴️. God bless America.

    I was told small details about this as a child from my Grenadian parents, but I never knew all of this. My aunt was one of the protesters back then, many of them were killed I was told she had to lay down on some dead bodies and play dead so the military wouldn't kill her. They told me that Bishop was a good leader that wanted good for Grenada and then he was assassinated by the people in his own party that's all I knew. Thank you for Teaching me, I often visit Grenada however I never knew the history of my beautiful island.

      Yup, one day there will be a world tribunal on the colonialist crimes against humanity....Maurice Bishop was assassinated by Ronald Regan killed for advocating the bauxite cartel ( like the oil cartel) to control the vital mineral native to the Caribbean necessary for the Rockafella' to manufacture Aluminum, Sankara was assassinated by French president François Mitterrand because Sankara was almost successful in convincing Black Africa to stop paying the debt to the colonizer's children. ,

    his speaking about the linguistic division of Caribbeans reminds me of what the English did in India; they split Indians, first into religious categories, telling Muslims they were superior than Hindus, then into linguistic categories (based on appearance, rather than actual language; they called darker, shorter nosed people Dravidians, and lighter, longer nosed people Aryans, even though these categories are not ethnic groups), and told "Aryan" people they were better than "Dravidian" people. divide and rule; a favorite technique of empires.

    • @TheGreatGriot
      @TheGreatGriot  8 лет назад +7

      That is there golden ticket and it's still working. Then they blame the victims for fighting each other. Same tactics centuries later.

    • @eruditootidure2611
      @eruditootidure2611 8 лет назад +3

      The Great Griot Yep, pretty disgusting. Even today, Pakistanis, Indians, and Bangladeshis hate each other, even though they used to be the same people. India even build a massive fence to prevent Bangladeshis from immigrating into the country they use to be part of! I'm less informed on the caribbean, though I've heard of similar rivalries existing between various neighbor countries.

    • @eruditootidure2611
      @eruditootidure2611 8 лет назад +1

      ***** Yup, the world's still pretty messed up from colonialism. Hopefully we'll be able to repair the damage it did within our lifetimes.

    • @eruditootidure2611
      @eruditootidure2611 8 лет назад +2

      ***** (Sorry for the length! I meant to just summarize, but went more in depth than I meant to ;^_^)
      Yes, The Indian Subcontinent has only been united a few times in its history, but the divisions had some cultural basis; the different territories had different rulers, different cultures, different languages, etc. When the British came along, they conquered the whole subcontinent, unifying the whole thing into a single country.
      Muslims and Hindus had gotten along pretty well, because, despite the many brutal Islamic conquests of India, most Hindus did not equate Muslim with Persian, Mughal, etc., and most Muslims were ethnic Indians, descended from Converts to Islam, with little more descent from Invaders than any other Indian. India had also long held a pretty religiously tolerant outlook, since the nature of Hinduism allows it to recognise any other gods as members of it's own Pantheon.
      Unfortunately, the British messed this up, then Partitioned British India into Pakistan and India. At that time, Pakistan included what is now Bangladesh as a state, then called "East Pakistan". This Partitioning cause a MASSIVE Migration of Sikhs and Hindus from their Homelands, which had been designated part of Pakistan, into the new borders of India, and a Similarly massive migration of Muslims out of India and into Pakistan.
      This is why I say Indians, Bangladeshis, and Pakistanis were the same people; There are hundreds of thousands of people who now see their homeland as Pakistan or Bangladesh, and view India as their bitter rivals, despite their ancestors having moved from the various states of modern day India, and many Indians whose ancestry lies in Pakistan or Bangladesh! The only reason Pakistan, Bangladesh, and India view each other as enemies rather than countrymen is because the British brainwashed us into thinking we needed to be Segregated.

    • @eruditootidure2611
      @eruditootidure2611 8 лет назад

      ***** Yup. We didn't exactly all get along back in the day, but before the British, enemies were enemies because the subcontinent was full of competing Empires, whereas now, our rivalries are based on the Leftover Divide and Rule strategy of foreign invaders. India had been conquered by Empires plenty of times, but most left the Subcontinent more improved than damaged, and most didn't conquer the whole thing.
      England just Stole our Jewels, Displaced a huge portion of our population, convinced us to resent each other based on religion, and told us Light Skinned People were better. The only thing they did to benefit us was building some railroads, which hardly makes up for all the shit. Very different from an Empire like the Mughals, who slaughtered and looted, but left beautiful monuments in their wake, and treated Hindus pretty well most of the time.

    First of all, I Thank You sister for this informational vid along with the others that you've done and do...not to omit the Beautiful queen that you are. For those watching who are beginning to awaken to the realities of this one false reality, the sister makes key points at 10:30 and 12:48 where she states that 1) Inner strife in the New Jewel Movement developed...spearheaded...by Bernard Cord (sp) and General Hutson Austin (sp) then 2)This is the opportunity that the Reagan administration had been waiting and preparing for...and took advantage of the inner strife taking place.
    I could go in several directions from just those two points but what I want those now awakening to overstand is how togetherness and togetherness of purpose is how we build up[on] people-dreams-ideas-communities-nations-Being Free AND how there are always - it seems - some one or two or three or more who infiltrate that togetherness whether it's due to jealousy/weak-mindedness or selling out for money or prestige or being an agent planted to move agendas.
    My point: First, respect due to Brother Maurice Bishop for his vision and his sacrifice; Grenada is but one example of many movements that have succeed for a time only to be short-lived for the same reasons. Reasons that, at the core, are birthed, bred and maintained by the same wicked 'source' that has specific spawns spread throughout. As Aboriginal Black people of this country-turned-corporation the "spawn" still affecting us was exposed by another visionary who also met an un-natural demise, Brother Steve Cokely (do your due diligence on him, too). And they walk and grin amongst us hidden in plain sight. As another [s]election year draws near to its end for an old beginning, it is one that attempts to usher in something stale but New in terms of the order of this world which brings us full-circle back to the basics that brought our ancestors thru-- Togetherness. The clock-time is Now because there is such a thing as too late.

    To the Great Griot, i am interested in donating to your educational series, but i am having issues in understanding what my donation will do. I have tried to see what previous works you have done, but when i go to your page i am not seeing anything. Do you have a site seperate from the donation site?

    10:44 isn't it a shame that there's always that ONE brother who wants all the shine to himself and while on the path to resistance be and freedom that "brother" who becomes the banana peel that puts us right back to the old order.

    The funny thing is most of us - the diaspora - are genetically similar in terms of the composition of our African ancestry. Almost identical. The only thing that sets us apart is the degree to which we have European and Indigenous ancestry, which mostly explains the phenotypical differences, if they even occur.

      Indeed! Traveling the Afrikan Liveaspora you will find people who look like people you've known growing up with in your native Black community, thus you will find familiarity all throughout. As an Afrocolombian American it has been a blessing to witness that firsthand from North, to Central, South America and the Caribbean islands.

      Word. I went to Costa Rica during my honeymoon and was delighted to see so many Spanish speaking brothers and sisters who looked like me; I grew up in NYC so I'm kinda used to seeing Afro-Latinos, but it was nice to see folks in their own countries. Hell, I didn't even know Columbia has one of the largest Black populations in Central/South America before a few years ago. I thought it was all DR, Cuba, PR, and Brazil. But y'all have the fourth largest Black population begind US, Brazil, and Haiti.
