really, I'd love to know why you prefer WFO! Personally, I like having the WFH because it'll give me the freedom to work from wherever whenever once I start full time and that's really valuable to me.
@@miso-tech I think as FTE ofcourse WFH is a better option as within 2-3 months you are basically bored by all the perks. But as an intern and that even 1st software job, I think wfo teaches you so much when it comes to networking and experiencing what big tech companies have to offer.

Thanks for your videos! Just curious, but how would you compare the competitiveness of getting into top 10 colleges in the U.S. (i.e. Ivies) with getting an SWE internship at one of the FAANG companies (or hot startups like Snap) as a CS Major from one of the target schools?
In my limited experience, I'd say it's significantly easier to get a SWE internship at a FAANG company, just because the process is a lot more merit-based with SWE recruiting versus the high ambiguity and variable nature of college recruiting. Basically if you can leetcode well, get an interview and pass your behavioral questions, you've got a great shot!
Hi, I am a student at a university, and next year I have the choice to orient myself in software engineering, data science or security. I hesitate because all areas interest me, but I like, is the job of software engineer rewarding and makes you happy?
It is rewarding, but it doesn't make me happy. I see software engineering as a means to an end. It pays good money and it can be rewarding at times, but that is all for me
Man. how is the workload as an Engineer proper at Amazon? Kind of amazing working environment. Compared to my current revolution era building and office, it is like night and day. Though my office has a nice big red flag though. Im software dev for China's state owned enterprise. The workload here is like somedays you only got to play video games while very rarely had to code overnight. overall kinda relaxed. Coz is government taxation related project. The customers test bugs for us most of the time. XD
Hey sap. Thanks for the info. Is the design review related to database design or it's something else? Would like to know. Hey, thanks for the comment! The design review is specific to my intern project, and intern projects can be any variety of things. What is a francophone?

So how many hours a day are you actually coding/working? Yeah meetings are 'work' but like 3-4hrs of a day is commited to actually producing results? Not shitting on you or anything looking into going back to school and these tech jobs seem like a pretty good gig. Currently working 70hrs a week for Pepsico and my day is 9-10hrs of literal constant work. 3000hrs a yr barely clearing 80k...fml.
oh shoot, yeah that is a lot of work for the amount of pay. I think that says a lot about how much the market currently values software engineers, the pay really is incredible. Usually I work more than 3-4 hours of work, I'd say closer to 6-7 with a couple hours of that being concentrated no distractions work. Then again, I'm an intern, and it might be a lighter workload as an intern. If you're interested in coding, I say you should go for it!
