    • @viktorbryce951
      @viktorbryce951 10 месяцев назад +37

      Not a chance. The body work being carbon is all going to have to be custom & done in house. I doubt you'd even get this repaired within a years time. And once you start removing things from the body I'm certain you'll find more issues that'll need repaired/replaced. The cost if I had to say in terms of repairs is going to be well over $550,000 between parts/labor. The Carbon Hood alone is like $17k. And doors I think are between $45-70k apiece. This is going to be a very interesting repair, and is it ever going to be a costly an timely one.

    The creation of the V10 was lead by Lexus' chief engine designer Okamoto Takamitsu. The engine starts life at Toyota's Myochi plant. It is at this plant that the engine block is made from molted aluminium. The block is then sent to Toyota's Honsha factory. The same factory that used to be Toyota's F1 engine facility. The block will get milled, drilled and polished and emerges as a precise engine block. In a sealed room Takumi’s hone every sharp edge using precision polishing tools. After this a highly skilled Takumi pre-assembles the finished engine blocks to check if they fit precisely. Disassembled they travel as unit to Yamaha’s Iwata city plant. It is at this plant that 4 highly skilled Yamaha Takumi’s fully assemble V10. A process that takes 2,5 days for one engine. Before the engine gets put into an LFA, it undergoes a half day of exhaustive testing.

    WOW I met this guy at a car show and when I saw his LFA I personally have never been that close to one because when you do go to the car show they tell you not to touch it and they always have tape around it I asked this guy can you rev your LFA in the back of my mind I thought he was going to saying no he then actually said yeah no problem I was like......wait what....... and he revved it up and it sounded amazing then I asked him a question I said why did you drive this car out like this aren't you afraid that it could be damaged he replied bro it's a car it's meant to be driven I don't care how expensive it is I enjoy driving it and anybody who keeps their car in the garage collecting dust is an idiot his word still stuck to me to this day because I have a car that I cherish and I try to keep it in the garage and now I drive it out as much as I can as I can

    I'm glad it's not just getting junked or something insane. Who knows though what will be found with that kind of impact - bent frame rails or something.... Lets hope not, I hope it's in all its former glory in a year!

    if it becomes to expensive to fix the body you should put its engine in something , easily the best sounding car in the world hands down.

    I found a lot of the parts to repair it already and it doesn’t look like there is much in terms of frame damage. All the parts are 3-8k even a mirror if you find a drivers side one.

    Give this to either:
    -Tavarish... Because of course.
    -Or some polish mechanics that managed to save one LFA already

    Got to fix it ! One year estimate on repairs might be too optimistic. Its the search or the re-engineering of the parts that cannot be found that will take time.

    At least Lexus can still get you parts. The front bumper for my G8 is out of production. The best option I have been able to find is a damaged one that was in worse shape than mine for $5k.
