When Andreas joined the band, he took them to a whole new level! Also! Andreas kisser’s Playing rubbed off on Max as well.
Andreas wrote many Sepultura’s classic riffs as well.
Personally I feel the whole separation of the group is sad. I give the Sepultura crew props for going forward, but I wouldn’t mind they changed there name.
I disagree. Sepultura is Andreas' band, and has been ever since he joined. They'd have never been signed with Roadrunner, or toured North America, if Andreas hadnt joined. Sorry. But Andreas is far superior as a guitar player than Max ever will be. He can also handle all the guitar work on his own. Derrick Green is a suitable replacement, as vocalist. And Eloy Casagrande needs no tips or advice, as drummer, from Igor. Sepultura will do just fine as they are.
The original singer was wagner lamounier. But nobody remember him...
We've lost the Abbott brothers sadly, but thank God we still have the Cavalera brothers.

Love the concept, don't get me wrong I never got to see Max Sepultura but with no Paulo and no Andreas it doesn't seem right. Plus Marc doesn't even come close to Andreas....not even close.

Ok, the roots bloody roots album was cool and all, yet I would love to see Max and Igor playing their early Sepultura stuff : From the Past comes the storms, to the Wall, septic schizo, R.I.P. (Rest in Pain), Beneath the Remains, Inner Self, Mass Hypnosis.

I love these guys. Sepultura is still rocking nowadays and I love them, but max was the soul u know, Sepultura is all about max. I know Andreas can write and create pretty hard but he does that in a different way than max, so sepultura changed a little bit of their music concept and that is good but different u know? Long live to Sepultura but these brothers have to break the ground play on some roots and all the others albums they wanna do. I've never been hopeful to see all the old dudes playing around together once again, and this way the cavaleras gonna do/are doing is great for me as a fan.. And this is the Brazilian power doing for us down the stages around the world and we feel proud of this, brazilian musicians and And Brazilian music has to be respected so we can provide our metal scene, we need our heroes back doing big stuffs and powering each other.. I'm enough about this shit that play on Brazilian radios, so kick asses men, lets provide metal scene I'm sure we can do this
Francis Severo Sepultura is the Cavaleras and Andreas, I'm sorry but Paulo never really contributed to the band musically. When Andreas joined he kicked ass, Schizophrenia was a far superior record to Morbid Visions and they were only a year apart. Andreas wrote most of the lyrics for the Arise album and provided the lyrics for two of the best songs on Chaos AD, Territory and Nomad.

Tikitackfouls Max and Igor didn't cancel by choice. They were scheduled to play after 2:00 PM, and everyone was kicked out of the park at around 1:15ish because there were reports of lightning strikes in the area. They didn't let us back in until about 5:00 PM.

At the end of the day, there's no talent that's gonna save you from shitty business decisions. It's really sad to say that, being that they made one of the greatest albums of all time, but it is what it is...

The show was disappointing - Max seemed tired and barely played - relied on the crowd to sing a lot of the hooks - it was boring and a total cash grab

HazyMan So did I. So much so that I went and saw them play again but the second time they were headlining so they actually played the album in its entirety plus some other songs.

It's pretty fashionable to shit all over Roots nowadays and yeah out of Beneath, Arise and Chaos AD I'd consider it the weakest but not for the reasons most people seem to give (i.e it's too "nu-metal) but because it's just way too long with too much filler material but tracks like Roots Bloody Roots, Attitude and Ambush are fucking awesome.

NOBODY should take Max serious...I was 5ft from him and he literally does NOT play guitar on stage. They keep his guitar low in the mix and the bald dude does all the work, Max comes in on random parts during solos only it seemed. It was pathetic! Thank God I saw Sepultura in 96.
i mean no offense to them but Roots ? Sepultura got big with thrash/Arise,Beneath .. Chaos AD was a good extension of that, but IMO Roots was too far from Thrash. No solos, no real riffs... all groove.
He does play but most of the time, he his more focused on holding the mic whilst singing. Most of Sepultura's stuff isn't very technical, mostly rides on E. This does include there older stuff from bestial devastation up to Arise. Nothing wrong with it, Max and Andreas wrote pretty catchy riffs. But yeah, Max is pretty lazy when it comes to guitar playing these days, he's a nice guy though, very passionate about metal.

Max needs to lose weight, and learn to play live like he did in the early 90's again. WTF happened to him? When you look old live videos of him in Sepultura, he was awesome.
