As it turns out, I actually missed a train car in this video: the Troop carrier! You can check it out in this video: ruclips.net/video/fdZCjRWMTmU/видео.html
The Combine Razor Train is my favorite train of all time. Seriously, we need more maps in Garry’s Mod with Razor Trains that pass by, & kills anyone in the tracks. It would also be cool if someone made an electric train set with the Razor Train & it’s cargo trailers.
@@AVeryNervousWreck I see your reply has randomly evaporated, here's what i was gonna say: For me, it's mainly due to the fact that it's easier for controlling government-esque entities to control a train as opposed to a car here are some key points: •A train runs on a schedule, a car on the other hand is driven whenever the owner wants to drive it. •A train is conducted by a professional and is owned by a railroad company, a car is personal property. •A train is run on a secure track, a car is driven on flat roads and can even be driven away from any designated roads (offroading) These may sound like very obvious differences, but once you understand that all of these points relate to trains being a more controllable method of transport for the combine as opposed to letting the civillians take control of a car, it all makes sense.
I always found it interesting that despite the distinct Combine design of the Razor Train and cars, they run on regular Earth train tracks, just metal and wood. Maybe it was an oversight while making the game, or maybe the Combine thought hey, these tracks are good enough unless something comes up that requires modification? I mean since they're basically killing the planet and draining all resources possible they don't intend to stay permanently, I guess they prefer to use just enough needed to dominate, then when the mission is done they can pack up that much faster and leave.
The latter option, combine simply saw no need for an upgrade when these tracks were good enough. You ever notice that the combine takes human vehicles, and then makes them better? Razor train, hunter chopper, APC, etc
@@ron3557 Yeah, the combine seem to prefer adapting and using tools and troops at the destination instead of bringing their own. Which makes sense, if their main goal is to drain the planet of its resources: it would be counter-productive to _bring_ resources to it.
You know what's strange the razor train in half-life Alex has no engine pushing it or pulling it maybe there's some sort of hybrid transporter car used as an engine and the strange thing is Razor train cars are only seen with one wheel on each side so how would they get the train cars stationery without falling.
I think thats just an oversight, the same train cars are covered in rust despite having no rust in half life 2, And the rust is orange brown whereas combine metal rusts blue.
i think they just made it so that there's only one pair of wheels on a cart to cut production costs, as Combine loves to do stuff effeciently. the 1 pair of wheels design can work because they can just attach the other side to the back of a cart that going before it. And about no engine pushing/pulling it, i think there might be an engine pushing it behind as we do not see it, there's more carts going behind. But making just a cart that can also serve as a locomotive does sound like somehting Combine would do.
If you think about it though the train could just be used as protection for debris on the track so the rolling stock don’t get derailed hence the name “RAZOR train” while the cars could just be moved by themselves. The combine is known for its obvious futuristic engineering so it’s no surprise that they could manufacture train cars to move by themselves with no locomotive supporting them.
Train sorting Station often detach wagons from the engine and let the wagons roll downhill on their own, using the track levers to guide them into the depot. Same thing Was done here
I never understood that, who drives these things. Maybe civil protection but maybe not. It can maybe be stalkers. Or maybe there is some other combine workers who drives that we just dont see...
You should display ids like the map names, at least additionally, although i'd prefer if you'd not even read them and only show the names on screen. But very interesting video :3

are there any?
I agree
I only know about combinestruct
see, even hyper advanced interdimensional empires recongise the train as the supirior mode of transport
That is pretty funny
Fr though
Mainly due to the fact that trains are controlled by governments, cars on the other hand are controlled by a single driver

Also i personally disagree with the notion that trains are "better" mainly due to the fact that they are incredibly different.

Just saw this when I searched "Razor train". Pretty cool video
I seen u somewhere
@@NS_1065_Productions where?
I dont know but razor train for me is scary when it is going at me
I think it's scary when any train is coming at you
I don’t know why, but when I look at the razor trains, they make me feel…uneasy.
If someone could decompile the large closed stalker transport without interior would be cool
I think I might be able to do that
looks cool
Thank you very much for this video 👍
Dude, awesome video
Perfect
I love this first sound of it
Am I the only one who forgets that (eledgedly) people drive these -machines- monsters?

Can anyone tell me what chime the first horn is? (If it even is a specific chime)
The sound file is called "razortrain_horn1.wav" if that helps.
@@cmdrrileysv4000 By chime I mean type of horn (Nathan K5, NYC 6 Chime, ect. ect)
@@therealcomputerhobo Oh I see. I'm not sure of that specifically. To me, the horn itself sounds custom made.
It’s a Nathan K5
@@NS_1065_Productions Sandcast Nathan K5H from the British Columbia Railway to be specific here.
Where is locomotive that is simular to DR1 Soviet DMU?

yeah
Funny i just built this in minecraft create mod with trains. 😂
Ada kereta api razor
3 minute video about a train.
Do you know that the razor train has a real life
Half -life 2 looks like Gta San Andreas.Yes.
I’m pretty sure Half life 2 has better graphics than San Andreas
I just noticed, they look like PS5-s.
