I have a 2021RT Limited. Changes i made : Baja Ron Ultra anti -Sway bar with metal links .Also installed Baja Ron front shock adjusters. Both of us are larger people. I bottomed out in front a couple of times. They recomended them. Cheaper than new shocks. Baja Ron people are great to deal with. I added Tric-Led lights to the front running boards. They are white all time and function as yellow turn signals.Very bright. Tric-Led light strips to the rear of Spyder. After changes flatter in corners,no leaning.
Liked the video. I was in the same boat, avid HD Electraglide rider, long distance, for many years. Age and physical ability diminished I bought a 16 triglide and did the comfort upgrades. HATED IT. I now own a 20 Spyder RT, I'll never look back. Ride safe brother. See ya down the road.
We have a 2017 RT Limited. We love it! I ride two wheels most of the time, but a few times have ridden the RT. One upgrade that we did was the BAJA Ron Sway-bar. It made a huge difference! Well worth the time and money. I still put miles on the BMW R1250GS and the Road Glide, but there are times when the Spyder fits the bill. Though it was purchased for my wife, I have put most of the miles on it.
As a long time Goldwing rider 1979 with a sidecar.Always loved 3 wheelering.2 Honda VTX 1300s,1 1200 Sportster Frankinstein trike and now we have a RSS and F3 Limited CanAms. Nice video on the 2 trikes . Be safe out there.
I owned a Spyder some years back. I now have a Freewheeler. One point that you hit on that i think about often is the difference in how reverse works between the two trikes. The Spyder reverse is smooth like a car, but the Freewheeler has a jerk when using reverse. Consequently, i rarely use it. Nice looking Spyder. Thanks for sharing. Godspeed
I have hip issues so the spyder was the best way to go, I got ball links when I got my spyder that are from Baja, they help keep it planted. Great video
Few, when comparing the spyder to other big bikes, consider having to emergency brake going around a curve at 60 plus mph(rain or shine), I would much rather be on the spyder.
I definitely agree with all your points on the Can-Am Spyder RT Limited. Regarding hand grips and Harley Davidson hand grips, l don't know why they make them so short? You can't move your hands about on them, compared to the RT Limited, or say the Honda Goldwing. Which are much more user friendly and comfortable.Safe Travels.
Thank you for doing this video. . .it definitely has helped because I'm thinking it's time for a 3-wheeler, and I'm leaning (more so now) towards the Spyder but keeping an open mind for the Tri Glide, having ridden Harley "deckers" for years. What about driving these trikes on the "twisties" with your back issues. . .isn't it hard on your back when you have to steer through the curves as opposed to just leaning the 2-wheelers? I understand there is a bit of a lean with the Spyder but none at all with the Tri Glide.
Great question. What I found was that with the Tri-Glide you really have to push/pull the front-end through the turns. Not a big deal, but you are right it's nothing like leaning on two wheels. On the Spyder, it has power steering so curves are a no brainer. I can take curves as fast or faster than 2-wheelers if I want. The Spyder does lean to the outside a bit, but one thing a lot of people talk about is putting on Baja Ron sway bars and it makes a huge difference. For me, weighing the pro's and cons of each, the Spyder is better. Ride safe!
Very good observations . I'm installing my Ultra Bajaron sway bar next week, hopefully. We have a lot of twisty roads in the NC Foothills, and I believe the sway bar will be a plus. I've put 16k on my 21' RTL Marsala Dark so far.
Ah I bet NC is beautiful with lots of good riding! Let me know how the new sway bars do for you - would really like to hear what you think. Ride safe @ES44AC-2 :)
I agree with your comments, but you have to take in passenger comfort on the Harley, it's twice as harsh for them as there sitting over that silly live axel. It should be independent A friend and I crossed over to three wheelers, he is a Harley man, it's a Harley or its nothing. Even informing him on Harley problems, he bought a new 2021 tri glide, I, a new 2021 Sea to Sky. The Harley $12,000 more than the Sea to Sky After our first ride his wife could hardly stand it was so harsh, even after changing ride height and suspension it was still harsh, our roads in Australia our Terrible. On one ride our wives switched bikes, my wife couldn't wait to get of the Harley she said it was awful, his wife didn't want to get off the Sea to Sky, she said it was riding on a cloud.
I tried really hard to like the Spyder, but it just wouldn’t hit for me. Glad you like it, no hate, but I just like the look of the TriGlide.i did upgrade the rear suspension on my TriGlide and it made a world of difference in the ride.
Whatever works for you! Yes I heard doing a lift kit and rear suspension on the Trike can definitely make a big difference, even in how much you have to push it through curves. I just didn't go that far. Enjoy whatever your ride and ride safe.
Loving this video. It is giving me a lot of perspective if I'll be able to ride again. Looking forward to the day when I am ready to purchase one. Thanks for your videos. They are such a great help. I am 6 foot and weigh 205, do you think I'll need to install the sway bars? I have back issues I ended up having back surgery and the back surgery was botched really bad. I believe God healed me to a point to where I can get out again after 20 years of being basically bedridden though I could get up and take care of myself I just couldn't be out of bed longer than an hour. I am able to attend church again, Bible Studies and attending the Yearly Men's Retreat. My Pastor rides along with some other Pastor's and others in several churches. I am looking forward to finally being able to ride with them. So I should have a spider within 10 to 12 months. I want to pretty much pay it off, though I'll have a few small payments. I'm going to try to buy one that's at least a 2016 to 2020. If at all possible I would love to get a 2020 Spyder RT Limited. Right now I am doing research and keep checking out great videos like yours. I'm a follower of Christ Jesus myself. I lost everything 23 years ago from a back surgery I never needed. It was a bulging disc that would have repaired itself. If I had gotten a second opinion I wouldn't have ended up where I am today. I highly suggest researching doctors before you allow them to do surgery on you. I had a great lawsuit until the attorneys found out that this surgeon had high risk insurance. High Risk insurance is not common so I say run from that doctor or surgeon if they do have high risk insurance. I didn't know any of this until it was too late. When it's all said and done I know where I'm going to end up. Eternally in Heaven. There is only one way into Heaven, and that is through Jesus. www.peacewithgod.net
Thank you Brother in Christ! Sorry to hear about your back problems. Yes I've had 4 back surgeries myself. But, God has put me in a situation where I can ride, and where I am in a christian motorcycle organization spreading the good news. I hope you have a chance to get your spyder. I know they made some changes in 2020 forward so you might compare 2020 to prior and see which you may like more body style and otherwise. Ride blessed my Brother.
I’ve seen a few of the 3 wheelers with the 2 wheels upfront on the road while riding my bike. I have never rode one but one day I followed one for a few miles curious how they handle. It seemed to move side to side being pulled by imperfections in the road. Do you feel this when riding?
The spyder does feel like it moves more with road imperfections, but I honestly think a lot of that is gripping too tight on the grips. Compared to 2 wheels, and with the power steering on the spyder, you can and should have a much lighter grip. Once you get accustomed to that, you dont move around as much on the road. That has been my experience. Ride safe.
You know, I had to get used to them. The folks I bought it from had those put on. I still have the normal bars but left these short reach bars on to try them out. Once I got used to it a bit, I can honestly say that I can ride FOREVER and I am totally comfortable. Not quite the same turn radius because of the bars being so much closer, but I don't need to turn that tight anyway. It really is much more comfortable than I even thought it would be. Ride safe.
I have a 2022 RT Limited and the only area where the Tri Glide wins is in the infotainment system. The Can Am system is junk by comparison. I wound up getting a Garmin Zumo XT2 for navigation.
Agree. I ended up disconnecting all my phone and headset stuff from the Spyder and just using my phone and Cardo stuff. The Can Am could definitely do much better. I think the 2024 models support Apple Carplay which could be better- if I owned an iPhone. I'm a droid guy. Ride safe.
Don't remember the actual cubic space, but the Spyder has more storage. It has the rear trunk, the 2 side bags, and the frunk "front trunk" is very large and deep.
I have a 2021 F-3S and it has been great. Might look at a Touring model or an Rt down the road but my F-3S is starting its 3 rd season and other than requiring premium gas I love it, could get better MPG but that’s no Killer except on my wallet!! Trump 2024!!! Come on America he MAGA!!! WTH!!!!
Enjoy that F3! What kind of mileage do you get? On my 2020 RT Limited, premium gas, I seem to get around 32 highway +/- wind and how I'm riding. Ride safe!

I hear a LOT about that sway bar and it's all good. Ride safe
Thank you once again for making me realize that the Spyder might be a good fit for me and my back problems.
It's been a great fit for me. I miss the V-Twin rumble but the Spyder is going to keep me on the road for quite a bit longer! Ride safe.
Our stories are the same. Ride safe brother.

You have some nice riding options! EVERYONE talks about those sway bars - I have to look into those. Ride safe.

Thanks for the comment. Ride safe and enjoy the Freewheeler!
I did love my Tri-Glide, but boy am I enjoying my Spyder RT Limited ‼
Thanks for the update
Get yourself some "BUG SLIDE" ... cleans great, leaves mat finishes as is... does NOT make your seat slippery... GREAT STUFF
I have hip issues so the spyder was the best way to go, I got ball links when I got my spyder that are from Baja, they help keep it planted. Great video
Lots of folks have mentioned those Baja Ron sway bars - I may have to do that soon. Ride safe.
Very good review thanks for sharing enjoyed watching take care and be safe
Thanks 👍

Hey that's a great point. Hope I never have to do that but if I do yes I'd much rather be on a Spyder too. Ride safe!

Great catch! Yes you're right the grips on the Spyder are longer and much more room to move your hands around. Didn't even think about that!
Just found your channel. Great video.
Aw thank you much, I appreciate that. Glad you liked the video. Ride safe!

Great points yes- big differences for the passenger too- good callout! Ride safe down there down under :)
Love my Spyder LMT and my brother is trying to get ride of his Tri glide!
To each his own- as long as we get a chance to get out there and ride 🏍. Ride safe!

Congratulations on a beautiful bike , but I often wonder at what point do you make changes to a bike and turn it in to a car ?
Good question!
