how the snowcap emblem on the piston knob is mechanically functional is so clever, it also solves the missing emblem on the newer 3xx models
Yes, that was really good and cleaver idea.
This was a joy to watch! Seeing the pen in such poor condition and then the transformation after you had finished! Thank you...
Thanks!
Heartbeat sound effect really speaks to the anxiety I feel when I consider opening a Montblanc.
This guy knows his stuff.
Thanks you!
A very good , informative video for enthusiasts, it could share in a video the materials , the glue , black celluloid with wood stick and the other tools where you buy from
Great video. I just bought one of these on eBay and initially thought it was a fake as it was so light. Your video has encouraged me to detail it. Thank you. Just subscribed and will try and view many more of your clips.
Thank you. Yes, MB 22 is a very light pen. Thanks for became a subscriber. I have many restoration videos and will do more in the future.
This helped me alot thank you! And nice "tools" :) great ideas
Thank you.
Lovely videos!, I really like that the tools you use are very simple and often made by yourself. You make feel like I can do it too!!! =D

That pen got some hard use in its time. Good cleaning job.
True. Thank You!
I have an MB 34 and is leaking a beat by the ink-level window, would you give me some advice? I don't know if that happened because I did not use an MB ink. Or I tide up.???
1. What was the mesh made of that you used to repair the cracked tube and where did you get it?
2. What is the black liquid you used to repair the cracked section?
Thank you.
Hello.
1. it was just kind of mesh what I found at home, nothing special, you can use any similar material, the idea was, just to hold the superglue on required area.
2.Black liquid - it was some kind of black super glue, black resin could be used too.
@@HappyPensVideos thanks. I've been restoring pens for a while and trying to get more experience in this type of repairs.
Your video makes me happy 😊☺️😊👍👍👍🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺
I'm glad to hear that. Thank you!
Lovely work and thank you for this video!!!!
Thank You!
hi, thanks for your nice video.
can i know information about black super glue?
my one is not suitable for montblanc 22.
Hi, thank you.
I don't know more info )) , I just bough it on ebay, some kind of black super glue. I don't have one at the moment unfortunately.
Hello, thank you so much for this video! It is very informative and helpful. May I please ask where I can possibly buy the small rubber ring/gasket that you inserted into the front section together with the nib? Thank you very much.
Hi, Thank you so much for your comment. I made this video for entertainment, not like tutorial. But I like if somebody can use it like tutorial. I don't know where to buy it, I made it myself. First of all you need to check if you really need one there, as this model has two types of inner section. Mine in video - I need gasket, but on many later models no needs in gaskets. It is easy to make it, I have used piece of rubber[bicycle tire] and a Hole Punch, measure a right sizes and cut a piece.
HAPPY PENS thank you so much for your message. You are right by saying that there are two types of inner section, and I was only aware of the newer type that didn’t need a rubber gasket. I only discovered the second (older) type as I was cleaning a pen and as I tried to remove the nib from that section of the pen for the first time. And I wanted to get a new gasket just in case mine breaks. So thank you for the tip about how to make your own gasket. Your video was extremely helpful in demonstrating how to properly put the nib back in with the rubber gasket. So thank you very much. Best of luck on your pen videos.
Hi! Great video! What are you using to push the holding ring back into the knob?
Hi, Thank you. I have used old empty and clean refill [tube] from Parker ballpoint pen ))
@@HappyPensVideos A handy tool, I've got to remember how to use it. Thank you!
Are there any nib repair instructions for Montblanc M by Marc Newson?
Hy, do you mind disclosing the products you use? Like the polishing paste and the black resin used for the cracks? Thanks
I have such video on this channel.
Excellent ! I have one question: what is that mesh material made out of for the inner nib section housing that you made complete ? Subscribed ! 🙂
Hi, thank for subscription, I hope this could help to my channel and motivation to make new videos))
I have used - what I have found)) just a mesh, have no idea what it was. I used it to hold the super glue on place, you can use any similar material.
& that is understood, Deniss - I just wondered if it was a special woven material, specific for bonding plastics; irrespective, it worked very well, & your glue & mesh created a successful outcome; that's the best repair to a pen body that I have ever seen, but I now have in my possession some black superglue compound with which to repair a split Montblanc cap on a Model 14. Hopefully, tomorrow I shall be able to make good on that cap - I actually have a day off work, being a Bank Holiday....Thank you for your response, & enjoy the remainder of the day,
Regards,
Andrew 🙂
How did you find the problem areas? I have a MB22 that leaks at the piston screws and the gaskets between the nib assembly and the barrel.
My pen had hairline cracks, it could be seen by the eye. Check all parts if there are some hairline cracks.
What have you applyed to the blue glass part and the rest of the pen to make it shine like that again? Great video and very good work. Greetings from germany.
Hi, I have used plastic polish, I have a video about how to polish a fountain pen, there you can find all what I use to polish a pen.
What did you use to repair the collar. That black net that you glued?
To be honest, it was just a net which I found at home, you can use any similar material. I have used it to hold super glue in place.
What is the paste you use for the ink window? And for the nib ? Great videos I’m hooked - Thanks!
it that video it was simichrome, if I remember right
@@HappyPensVideos - Thanks
Excellent video! What is the black liquid resin you used to fix the crack?
Hi, thank you. It was long time ago, it was black super glue or black glue for rubber/ plastic
Thank you for replying to such an old post! Do you still use this for cracks or have you found a better product?@@HappyPensVideos
@@P_Jason I am not used it a lot, but all depends of the material you want to bond. For celluloid I’m using MEK solvent, it’s could be good for some plastics as well , but not for MontBlanc.
How did you discover the problem areas? I have a 22 that leaks at the gasket and the piston threads.
My pen had hairline cracks, it could be seen by the eye. Check all parts if there are some hairline cracks.
Where do you get parts if it is cracks? At this point what is happening is the ink is being sucked between the piston fill and the barrel. The seal is off. I think. I still do not see cracks, but I have to get the liner out of the barrel to see what is going on.
Does the piston remover for a 146 work on a 22?
Is no. 82 the same disassemlbe process?
I don't have 82, but it looks same as 22, just with golden overlay, so should be same.
What did you use to fill the cracks? Black epoxy?
Hi, Black superglue.
@@HappyPensVideos any recommendation for brand of the products (black superglue)
Is the piston oiled?
yes, so it could work smooth, you can use silicon grease
excuse me, what do you use to close the cracks? thx :)
I used black superglue if I remember right, as well could be used strong black epoxy
Can you list what tools & supplies that you use
Hi, it's hard to say, as full list could content 100 items which I use in pen restorations.
I have a video: How to polish a pen[how to remove engraving] , there I'm saying what to use.
Wonderfull to see! I would like to do the same with my project pens. Where can I purchase the glue, net, special polish and other fine detailed materials? I have the rest and can polish from scratch to deep shine
Hi, thank you. I bought everything on ebay. The net - you can use any similar material, I don’t remember where I got the net, possibly my wife gave me. All other things from ebay. I have video in Restoration playlist - how to remove engraving/ how to polish - there you can find some info about polishes I am using. Just note, the video not a tutorial , it’s for entertainment. So you can not to see all steps I did, possible unlucky moments and all similar to that.
У меня 12 модель, вроде тоже самое, но чуть лучше.
Да, эти модели к сожалению подвержены к растрескиванию. С ними нужно аккуратно.
But no descriptions about what adhesive, polishing materials, and some other out side materials applied to restore was not mentioned !!
Yes.
So fountain pens is your hobby and your main occupation is surgeon?🙂
haha))) not really))
Do you know how to disassemble montblanc noblesses pen?
Hi, If I remember right, there are 3-4 different noblesse models, but I'm not serviced any of them, so have to say, no, I don't know at the moment.
@@HappyPensVideos Thank you very much for your interest in my pen!!! The model is like this link- ruclips.net/video/ql_E4KNGcyg/видео.html
Great video, but not much use unless you explain what to use and how to use the things for repair.. I need a barrel repair but don't know what to use.
If you need to repair a pen, find a professional repairer.
Or study a repair courses at WES
My videos not a restoration tutorials, but are entertainment videos ''before and after''.
@@HappyPensVideos thought that was the point of the video so you could it instead of paying a pro.
@@tony40400 Definitely, the video could help for many people to restore their pens. But this video not a tutorial, it's just a 20 minutes of entertainment.
Tutorial would be 120-240 minutes, but it's not what I want to do.
I don't think the video could help to someone, who has no experiance at all, but it could help to people who already has a little restoration experiance, might be with diferent pens as well..
Anyway, My main idea was an entertaiment, not a tutorial at all, but it could give an idea, how to repair a pen - as my description says, I belive you seen it.
Yes and good video it was.
By the way, this video was my first or second video restoration, I hope to believe my last video restorations has a bit more explanations))
Can you repair a fountain pen?
Hi, I'm not repairing pens for customers, it's just my hobby, so I repairing my own pens only.
Now that you have restored , what will happen ?😂
I will start new project))
your writing angel is not good for the nib......
Unfortunately, I'm not good writer. I like to collect the pens.
