  • Hi guys,
Long overdue next instalment in the Slava Ukraini diorama, two more figures to add to the scene. Sincere apologies for the long gap between videos, lots of IRL stuff going on, which I explain in the video.
Thanks for taking the time to watch, I hope you enjoy, and as always look forward to your comments.
    Cheers
    Glen

It's good to have you back! I loved the introduction, a great selection of images to go with the commentary. As always, excellent work on the figures, especially the spatter camouflage.
We all go slightly overboard on details that are sometimes too small to see without magnification, we like to make our lives difficult for ourselves! My latest one was building a 1/72 Seafire with its wings folded- the kit wasn't designed for that and it involved a fair bit of research, butchering of the kit, and building two jigs to hold the wing pieces in place while the cement dried. I'm not even remotely tempted to repeat the process on subsequent Seafires!

Thanks Ian, all that proves is we are all mad, like painting the interior of a tank that you will never see, but I am compelled to do it 😱😱😱

Hey, thanks Steve, hopefully once we finish fixing up the house I will get my hobby time back, in fact it should get better as we are renting so I don't have any chores to do till we are in the new house 👍

Hi Halidon, JW from Detroit, Michigan here- I’m about to start on my Tamiya Easy Eight, was watching your build of it and catching up: Congratulations on new home! You’d asked about ideas for modeling space set up/design- as it happens Two Came to mind immediately: you guys build your homes in Australia similar to those of our USA south western region: there’s a dude you may know from RUclips site: Will Pattinson (sp)- same handle as name on RUclips- interesting and highly intelligent cat with a background in engineering/design- find his channel and scroll through to his stuff until you see his home remodeling- and how he designed and built his modeling area- some excellent examples and ideas that may work in part for you, or much. Lovely set up- ground floor and lots of natural light- his wiring /electrical outlet placement and bench/cabinet lay out. And in your neck of the woods- I enjoyed Beckers RUclips channel as he rebuilt his area. Both are ergonomically excellent- each with different space size of course- but- combination and mix ‘n match. I would kill for ample natural light in our homes basement studios: we have permafrost here- 98% of our homes have basements- cool and dry in summer- warm in winter- nice thing is the top two floors are pure living (and model display in my library-office on first floor). I’ve really enjoyed your channel, work, tips and sense of humor these past few years- and your Christmas Specials! Thanks- if you ever want or peruse in brief a look at Detroit Suburb of Grosse Pointe Woods- see: JW: Bye-Bye Cobra! On RUclips- our house was built in 1948- the metal I-Beams used for foundation and basement are all WW2 Detroit made “surplus” - I.E. twice normal size- this place will be here 100 years from now- overbuilt and cost builders pennies on the dollar from 1946 through 1948- Cheers to You and Yours- Good Luck and Enjoy your new home and space- JW

Hi John, I watch Will regularly and saw his modelling area build, he made a good job of it too. I will have to check out the other one you mentioned. So far I am prioritising natural light, I am nearly committed to getting a skylight over the bench, also thinking a small sink to clean airbrush and brushes, etc would be handy, at least two distinct build spots, plus painting spot, and the video editing space, my wife is not supporting the plan to have a secret door to the garage behind a display shelf :) But I haven't given up on that just yet!!!! My big dilemma is trying to decide between carpet, comfortable but carpet monster issue or floorboards, less comfortable, but has to be easier to find dropped parts.

Very good painting to a great result Glenn. In any case, it was worth it.

Nice to see you back in action Glenn! Wonderfull news about your new house! It will cost some time out of your hobby, but it will be definetely worth it, plus you are getting a brand new, custom man cave!! Excellent job done on these figures, they will add a lot to the diorama. Btw i really like your humour and the way you are "using" it made the whole vid such an enjoyment to watch. Thanks for sharing, take care and keep up the good work. Greetings, George.

That's some nice work Glen i think a rodeo bull has to be in the new room and maybe an oil painting of myself at the end of the room looking sternly down at you a reminder to add light reflections in the eyes . Just a thought marra 🤣🤣🤣 Regards Gav.

Great to see you back Glenn 👍 congrats on the new home. We're still looking. After ALMOST two years it's starting to get annoying. On the room lighting is going to be a priority. And three tables building models. Building dioramas, taking photos and computer. That's my dream. Well since I can't drink alcohol anymore. A bars out of the dream. Anyway awesome build as always 👍👍👍

Hey Clay, how are you going mate? It's been a struggle, in the end we decided to build cos we couldn't find anything existing that met our requirements, but I will be bloody glad when it's all over and I can retreat into the cave and relax 👍👍👍

We can't find anything here that's at a reasonable price. It's nuts going on our second year. The housing troubles are insane people moving from the democratic run cities are running here . Ugh everyone hates California NYC well I'm sure you've heard. Nuts but still gluing my fingers to my kitchen table. 🤣🤣🤣 looking forward to your videos on your man cave.👍

Would just like to make a few comments on this video mate, the jazz / blues music is not required as it only encourages me and the boys to drink more in Darwin while we gather around and watch your channel, secondly this business about you selling your house and you being too busy to post more model videos has frustrated many of your subscribers, I have ran a poll and many have said you are self Centred and don’t care about us anymore! We want more model videos, take note that the poll was taken only in Darwin and basically don’t pay any attention to the polls in Darwin 🤡, it’s just a circus up here 😁 cheers once again and keep up the great work brother 🤘🤪🤘

Hi Halidon, glad to see you. That's the funniest collage of moving pictures I've ever seen. For your room you might want to consider your water and wash up space, lighting and electric sources. Table and work surfaces and of course Storage!! If you have the room for them you could make dedicated stations like a wood bench and a spray booth. And leave room for the stripper pole, the meth lab and the mini fridge. I'm sure you'll figure it out (after a couple of years). I'm still putting my room together as I develop and expand my hobby. Best of Luck!!
The camo paint technique is awesome. Simple yet very effective. Do you plan a scene for them?
Missed your cheekiness and looking forward to your next post!!

Thanks Michael, glad you liked it mate. I have taken your suggestions down in my planning notes, I was thinking of installing a small sink on the far edge of the main work bench, it should be possible I think, lighting and power points are also critical, I am doing several designs in some 3D software, which I will probably share soonish to get more feedback. Stripper pole might be a challenge, well not so much the pole, but getting a stripper into the house with out SHMBO catching me is going to be hard 😋
